To ask your resting heart rate

Kate489 · 18/11/2024 17:46

Mine is averaging 55bpm, which Dr Google says is too low unless I'm an athlete. I'm not an athlete. I would manage a 5km in 37 minutes at a push nowadays.

Wondering what yours is?

OP posts:
DinnaeFashYerself · 18/11/2024 17:47

80-90 normally

RubyRooRed · 18/11/2024 17:47

68 according to my watch

Wendolino · 18/11/2024 17:49

61 at the moment, but I take a beta blocker.

Noplannow · 18/11/2024 17:49

Mine is 44. Definitely no athlete. It was picked up at a check up, I had a 24 hr monitor and a cardiology referral. They said it is just my normal.

Shopgirl1 · 18/11/2024 17:49

Ranges from 39 to 41, but I am a runner, it has been tested and it’s just an athletes pulse.

RenoDakota · 18/11/2024 17:50

Hovers between 55 and 60. I am an occasional runner, by no means an athlete

Havingasmashingtime · 18/11/2024 17:50

49
i am 39 and not an athlete
mjnes always 39-50
i have wondered why mine is always quite low but I would say I’m healthy.
all 3 of my past watches have told me the same so can’t be an issue with watch.

tourdefrance · 18/11/2024 17:51

Mine was mid 40s about 10 years ago, I was doing more running then but still not an athlete (5-10k 2/3 times a week).
Now at mid 50s. Less fit hut obviously older too.

PigInADuvet · 18/11/2024 17:51

Right now, at rest 84bpm. Heart condition and currently not taking medication (probably should!).

KoalaCalledKevin · 18/11/2024 17:51

58 today according to my watch, but I'm not sure how reliable they are.

MrsJRHartley · 18/11/2024 17:53

86 according to my watch. I'm sure that's too high.

MichaelSchofield1991 · 18/11/2024 17:53

45-50. By no means an athlete. Ignore Dr Google, it's just normal for some people... unless you have other symptoms.

minisomum · 18/11/2024 17:53

Mine is 52 - 58 depending what time of the month it is for me. I am no athlete - I've just always had a relatively low resting heart rate.

Garlicpest · 18/11/2024 17:53

Around 90. I'm old and sedentary, it used to be a lot less than this! Doc isn't worried, though.

Mischance · 18/11/2024 17:53

Around 45 - I have a known heart problem.

kittykarate · 18/11/2024 17:54

Aged 51, not an athlete my fitbit calculates it at 67 today. Usually in the range 64 to 70.

thingymijigi · 18/11/2024 17:54

55bpm and can barely run around the block

Fireworkwatcher · 18/11/2024 17:55

Mine is 55 at the mo though often under 50 - I’m an occasional runner of 50 with a similar pace to you OP - no athlete

bourdain · 18/11/2024 17:56

57

VictorianBigot · 18/11/2024 17:56

My resting HR is anywhere from 80-110, but can be 50 something while asleep according to my old Fitbit.

It’s always been high as I had a heart condition that affected my heart’s electrical conduction system, then had surgery to correct it which was a bit complicated.

DecafDodger · 18/11/2024 17:56

48-53. I am a casual exerciser and my doc says I have a heart of a 20yo. (I'm close to 50). It has not always been low though, in fact when I was in my 20s and wouldn't touch sports with a barge pole, it was 75-80. So in my case, some sports seems to have made quite a bit of a difference.

doodleschnoodle · 18/11/2024 17:57

60 average according to my Apple Watch.

Stretchedresources · 18/11/2024 17:57

About 50. I'm very active and 50yrs old.

Tophelleborine · 18/11/2024 17:58

45-55. I do run a lot but have also had it checked out and that's just normal for me.

TheSoapyFrog · 18/11/2024 17:58

Between 86 and 96 bpm
