To ask your resting heart rate

Kate489 · 18/11/2024 17:46

Mine is averaging 55bpm, which Dr Google says is too low unless I'm an athlete. I'm not an athlete. I would manage a 5km in 37 minutes at a push nowadays.

Wondering what yours is?

Currently 74. I’m 65 and walk about 3 miles a day.

Mandylovescandy · 18/11/2024 18:27

Over last 4 hrs my watch says low of 42 and high of 82 - 82 would have been walking briskly with shopping bags and looks like WFH was about 45. I would say I am not very fit just now but have done years of training so guess that explains it being low

UmopapIsdn · 18/11/2024 18:29

110

I’m a huge fatty.

TakeMe2Insanity · 18/11/2024 18:29

52-56 bpm according to apple watch. I was pregnant last year and was 80bpm until i gave birth!

Coffeeandgranola · 18/11/2024 18:29

~45 at rest - I'm mid 30's and fairly fit, but not an athlete.

Whenever I see a new healthcare person they always look a bit concerned and do follow up tests which then go on to show no issues 🤷‍♀️

SprinkleCake · 18/11/2024 18:29

My resting heart rate has ranged from 130 to 150 at two recent checks. I’ve also had abnormal ECGs so I’m awaiting a cardiology appointment to see why as I am young and healthy otherwise.

HeBeaverandSheBeaver · 18/11/2024 18:33

Mine is usually 55-65 My dad's the same and my son.

DragonGypsyDoris · 18/11/2024 18:33

Average 48 bpm over a full year. Not an athlete, just healthy.

MikeRafone · 18/11/2024 18:35

according to my watch 51

Youcunnyfunt · 18/11/2024 18:35

usually between 55-65
very active though (not an athlete) but is a pretty normal range in our family

LionAndEmperor13 · 18/11/2024 18:36

mine's around 35. Very unusual I know - had it checked out and it's fine, I have no other symptoms.

EscapeFromHubby · 18/11/2024 18:36

Varies between 55 & 60. I'm 45, about 3st overweight and not very active

romdowa · 18/11/2024 18:36

Around 80-110 but I have pots which explains that. I have on occasion seen a resting rate of 140 but that would be exceptionally rare

AnnaDelvorkina · 18/11/2024 18:36

54 today, 51 yesterday, 54 on Saturday. Have a heart monitor for health reading at the moment. Reassuringly my watch has the same figures.

Am almost 44, female, post ménopause (on HRT) and quite athletic. Doctors have always said my heart rate is fine.

Imjustlikeyou2 · 18/11/2024 18:37

Mine is almost always over 100 if I’m not sitting down, has been since I was a teen (30s now) had an 24 hour ecg which they described as ‘normal’ 🤷🏼‍♀️

bluebee17 · 18/11/2024 18:37

58-62

DaphnesCafe · 18/11/2024 18:39

Dolly567 · 18/11/2024 18:08

Reading all these has me a little worried now

Mines 86ish sometimes and if I slightly move goes up to 100! I'm only 32

Not overweight?

Don’t worry too much, mine is all over the place and I have regularly ECG’s (medicals at work). No issues. Everyone is different, as long as you don’t have any other worrying symptoms I’m sure it’s just your physiology.

PlasticineKing · 18/11/2024 18:39

66 I run a fair bit normally but had a few weeks off due to injury

NeedToChangeName · 18/11/2024 18:39

73, according to my oximeter

Readings on this thread seem lower than I expected. I thought 50-90 was normal

GettingStuffed · 18/11/2024 18:40

Naturally in the early hundreds but I have tablets which keeps it down to the mid 70s

Dramatic · 18/11/2024 18:41

I'm mid 30s and mine is usually between 70 and 80 which I always think is quite high, it often spikes over 100 with very little movement

Imjustlikeyou2 · 18/11/2024 18:41

@GettingStuffed can I ask why they put you on tablets? Mine is always in the early 100s but my doctors seem unconcerned.

Imjustlikeyou2 · 18/11/2024 18:42

@Dramatic same as me.

ThisTimeNextWeekDavid · 18/11/2024 18:42

Around 50-55.

I’m 55 and work out pretty intensively around 4 times a week - combo of weights and functional.

Amaranthasweetandfair · 18/11/2024 18:43

Mine is in the fifties, it went into the forties when my thyroid was playing up. They did do an ecg once and no issues. My mum was an athlete (I am not) but wonder if I've somehow inherited it 😝
