Don’t be so ridiculous. What a disgusting thing to say.

Don’t be so ridiculous. What a disgusting thing to say.

It really was a disgusting thing to say.

I feel like it's extrwme racism aimed at white people.

It's saying white people wouldn't care if a white man murdered his child.

Of course we would care!

I honestly think this has nothing to do with religion.

I know a devout Muslim man who has to bring up 3 children by himself, because his wife died of breast cancer.

He cherishes his children (2 girls and 1 boy).

There's lots of white child abusers and violent white men.

I can't believe people are blaming religion for it.

One aspect where the religion is relevant could be that a woman doesn't stand up to her husband or other male relative; what he says goes and she doesn't feel able to question it or go against his wishes. Although this may be more a cultural thing than a religious one.

90% of the people that you've worked with - doesn't give an accurate statistic on abuse though.

You haven't said what your job is.

A pyschotherapist woman working specifically with recent immigrants could say

"100 percent of the people that I work with who've been abused, are non Christians."

The statistics will change for every job

Edited

I work in prisons and have worked for various prisons across the country.

I volunteer for a DV charity which helps (mainly women) from all over England.

I’ve also worked in secondary schools in different areas of the country too.

There is a higher statistics that the Christian or catholic religion have more cases of child abuse than other religions in this country but I disagree that these religions are more likely to abuse a child than other religions or non religion.

It is not the religion that’s the problem.

You are utterly vile. The only racism here is from you. Implying that all posters on this thread are white and are racist.
If you can really sit there and try and minimise this man’s actions by trying to bring race into the table then I sincerely hope you don’t have your own children. For the vast majority, there is nothing about race present here and everything of the absolutely sick and heartbreaking loss of a beautiful little girl in the most evil circumstances. I note you aren’t accusing all us nasty ‘white’ posters of racism for our distress at this little girls suffering?

I know lots of non religious women who don’t stand up to their husbands or male relatives.

I think we have to be very careful with statements like this.

Firstly, (apart from Christian/catholic religion), there is not one religion worse than the other for child abuse.
Someone being an atheist isn’t automatically safer than a Christian or Muslim.

Secondly, it implies that women in non religious relationships should be able to stand up to their husbands and it blames the victim for not doing something just because she’s not religious.

I really don’t think ordinary members of the public should have to sit on Jury on cases as horrific has this. They’re not trained or equipped to cope with it. If I was called for Jury over anything to do with child unaliving and or abuse. I’d have to get a Doctors note to excuse me. There’s no way I could sit through anything like that. I’d either have a complete breakdown or I’d personally go for the monster and end up behind bars myself.

Child unaliving? What?

Lisanoonan · 13/11/2024 13:41

I'm sick of hearing about women getting beaten to death by men in that religion.

Men of all religions and no religion can do child abuse. But it's definitely a problem in his particular religion

I'm pretty sure that man doesn't really follow a religion but ok...

SomethingFun · 13/11/2024 20:22

That poor little girl, I am so sorry for what happened to her and I wish that just one good, competent and tenacious adult had been in her life and rescued her. I hope she is at peace now.

I know social services is stretched so I’d pay more tax so that we had people who could stop this shit from happening over and over again. And fuck it, if you are proven to abuse kids you should be left to rot in pain and fear until your untimely death and I would not lose a minute's sleep over it. And the money saved from housing these irredeemable individuals could be spent trying to mitigate the horror they caused.

The stepmother's sister sounds particularly bad.

Did you read the text messages.

The stepmother wrote "I'm going to call the police" and the the sister writes back "no dont".

Another day, the stepmother writes "I'm afraid that he is going to break Sara's leg".

And the sister wrote back "just say a verse of the Quoran"

For example honor killings of teenage daughters only happens in certain religions.

Sikhs, Hindus and Christians all do "honour" killings. There have been cases in the UK. In Egypt, Palestine and Lebanon, for example, Christians do it.

Thank you!

Honour killings are normally a cultural thing I see nothing in Islam that allows this madness.

This struck me too. Have the neighbour(s) who never reported the abuse given any justification why? I just can’t believe so many people failed her. It breaks my heart.

In this Sara Sharif case, the stepmother wrote to her sister that she was worried that her husband was going to break Sara's leg.

The stepmother wrote back "just read a verse of the Quoran".

The Islamic religion has been mentioned in news reports on this case.

Did they definitelt hear her? Does it say that somewhere? He could have covered her mouth while he beat her.

Yep. I can’t imagine not going straight over there to check if everything was ok. Imagine allowing this to happen. I know I’ve said it already but how did so many people had the opportunity to save this little girl from that monster but not one bothered?

Sara Sharif’s ‘neighbours heard shockingly loud smacking & gut-wrenching screams’ before she was found dead

A "high pitched scream" was heard two days before 10-year-old Sara was killed and her family fled to Pakistan, jurors have been told.

Her mouth was taped. They made some kind of hood with tape ordered from Amazon. Sorry, I know that’s just as horrible to read as it is to write. They are beyond inhumane. The neighbours never reported hearing constant screams etc. Apart from one person heard a loud scream around the time it happened. But given her screams will have been muffled, that might not be linked. Neighbours statements / appeared last week.
