Where was the mother in all tjis surely she is just as culpable she had plenty of opportunity to pick up a phone and ask for help but didn't bother she was an adult and choose to stay thzt poor kid had no such choice

Her children had been removed from her care. It said she had some contact initially, then went to phone contact, then US said they didn’t want to speak to her and contact ceased.

I used poor phrasing @Tandora
If the father already had a history of abusing former gf’s then he should have been a red flag for custody. In that instance it makes me wonder why he was still awarded custody.

Because abusers are believed if they cry 'false allegation' and 'parental alienation' and they frame the victim as the perpetrator.

Personally I think you'd be applauded if he was left to defend himself.

Monsters. All three of them.

Raindropskeepfallinonmyhead · 13/11/2024 21:29

Makes me so angry to
read this. That poor, poor child.

Newname85 · 13/11/2024 21:32

How did NO ONE - absolutely NO ONE knew the child was being beaten at home?
So many injuries! Was the child in school ? If she was, wasn’t she in pain? No bruising?

golf7 · 13/11/2024 21:38

Lisanoonan · 13/11/2024 20:45

You work with who in a professional capacity?

The two male co defendnts. Sharif and malik.

They took her out to home school her. School
reported bruises yes. She began to wear a hijab (only one in family) to cover up. Clearly the household knew, step mother clearly complicit too (she told her sister who basically said to play the Quran not report him). So she was failed by so many. Oh and neighbours who heard some shouting etc but clearly not aware of the extend of the abuse

Ah OK. I got confused I thought you meant you worked with him in his former career.

But I think you mean that you work in a prison

ThatCosyKoala · 13/11/2024 21:51

I wonder if she was sexually abused although there aren’t any mentions of that. Her father is a monster and I wonder what was going through his head to order stuff on amazon and make a hood so to silence her screams ;(((

They should all be locked up for a very long time.

For crimes like this?
Death Penalty seems justified.
In some countries, that’s exactly what he’d get.

Only here are we so soft on child killers.

oakleaffy · 13/11/2024 22:12

RooBarbRooBarbara · 13/11/2024 15:33

I hope this bastard is beaten to a pulp every day in prison. No mercy.

Trouble is, he’d cry like a coward and the prison staff would probably have to put him in a nice cell on his own with the other child abusers and sex offenders.
Pierrepoint would have humanely dispatched him and his ilk- but it’s no longer allowed in U.K..

So instead these evil cowards are kept safe and well on the taxpayer’s dime.

oakleaffy · 13/11/2024 22:20

MrsBennetsPoorNerves · 13/11/2024 13:09

I don't agree with the death penalty. This evil man needs to be made to live with the horror of what he has done, and really made to face up to the reality of it. Killing him would relieve him of the guilt that he should have to live with.

The other adults are equally culpable in my view. Whether they perpetrated the violence or not is irrelevant. They let it happen and they all have blood on their hands.

That poor child and her poor siblings.

Child killers have a fine old time in prison. ( Knew a prison officer of Oldskool type)
Kept away from the rest of the prison population for their well-being- They won’t feel the slightest shred of remorse.
Guilt?
That’s a joke!! these scummy individuals don’t feel guilt.

The school did make reports to social services.

In response, Sharif withdrew Sara from school and said he was home schooling her a couple of months before her death.

The school did exactly what they could do. It is not that "nobody thought the make the call"

This case shows exactly why there needs to be closer monitoring and supervision of those claiming to be 'home schooling', to me as a parent and as a teacher it seems bizarre that a child can be removed from school with little or no further action.

I know the father has admitted to killing his daughter, however, there have been various different accounts. He did not admit to the bite marks and dental checks confirm it was not him or his brother, whilst the stepmother refused to have her dental check. All I am saying, is that all three people were involved in this, and I don't just mean they knew what was happening, I think they all had an active role in abusing Sara, although the father by far was the worse offender. Sara's life has been traumatic throughout, unstable and where abuse was so normalised. Tragic. May she finally rest in peace and not harmed anymore. I wonder if they interviewed her older biological brother, he would have known what was happening.

Yes I agree all 3 played a part in her abuse and allowing her to be murdered. I read yesterday that a child from the home has sent a text to a school friend that “ Sara is dead”.

ForSereneSwan · 13/11/2024 23:17

responding to a previous message above. Yes, I think home schooling is a bit of a red flag and there needs to be more follow up for sure.

ThatCosyKoala · 13/11/2024 23:18

I found this on bbc‘s website:

The jury heard that in 2019 Sara was living with her mother Olga Sharif, but then made allegations of neglect and violence against her.
She said her mother was smoking cannabis, not feeding her, leaving her alone with another child and burning her with a lighter.
Mr Sharif recorded the allegations in a video.
This led to a court order that Sara should live with her father and his new wife, Ms Batool.
Caroline Carberry KC said: “She treated [her] as her own."
“That’s what I thought,” Mr Sharif replied.
“[She] seemed to love Beinash more than [she] loved you?” he was asked.
“That’s right ma’am,” he said.
The trial continues.

Let’s not forget that a court ordered this man custody - taking the child away from her mother.

Can we have accountability for the professionals involved please? CAFCASS, the family judge…

Poor darling girl. It's heartbreaking to read and think of what she went through.
Rest in peace beautiful.
Hope her dad rots painfully in prison.

He won’t, unfortunately. He’ll be pandered to by the staff , because he “knows his rights”.

He’ll probably actually enjoy prison.
It isn’t a punishment.

I read a book by a prison officer recently who had worked in jails for decades- said it was stressful for the STAFF to have to deal with these vile pieces of human waste.

The staff generally don’t like child killers, but have to be civil to them.

This creep definitely needs a taste of his own medicine.

The poor girl had a tumultuous life. Put into foster care when she was one, sent back home as long as her mother moved out, then her mother got custody, then her father.

https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/crime/surrey-police-old-bailey-surrey-woking-pakistan-b2641840.html

I have no idea if any of the accusations against her mother were true, or if Sara was forced into making the accusations by her father. Her mother still had visitation and full parental rights, so I'm guessing the authorities just decided that the home with her father and step-mother would be more stable than one with a single mother.

How the fact that the father had been reported to the police multiple times by different women didn't raise any red flags is a mystery. Why Sara wasn't kept under closer supervision after her school raising concerns about abuse and her father removing her from school - also a mystery. Mysteries that need pretty fucking closely inspecting, and will probably have answers stemming in the institutional disrespect of women and girls' safety.
