What are you doing with the extra hour tonight?

It’s that time of year again! The clocks are going back an hour at 2am, so we all get an “extra” hour tonight. Are you planning to make the most of it with a lie-in, or maybe use it productively?

Are you working, sleeping, catching up on something, or doing something you wouldn’t normally have time for?

Would love to hear everyone’s plans for the bonus time!

Having a second glass of wine which I will regret at 2am and I'm having a night sweat. But I've got a spare hour to have a night sweat and then sleep again. 😃

Twentybottlesofbeer · 26/10/2024 19:52

I very rarely have a second drink now....

Macaroninecklace · 26/10/2024 19:53

I have children who haven’t grasped the concept. They’ll get up at what is, to their body clock, 6:30am, as usual. They’ll adjust over a few days, as will I. There will be no “extra hour” in this household!

Motheranddaughter · 26/10/2024 19:53

Sleeping
Could do with an extra 10 hours , but will enjoy the 1

Beezknees · 26/10/2024 19:54

Sleeping as I slept terribly last night and have a headache today!

BabyCloud · 26/10/2024 19:54

I won’t even notice it. I’ll probably just be up and showered/hair/make up done a little earlier.

My teen probably won’t notice either.

RhubarbCrumbs · 26/10/2024 19:57

I have a 3-year old, so watching Mighty Monster Wheelies for an extra hour I imagine 🥲

ErrolTheDragon · 26/10/2024 19:58

I'd like to read more of the book I started on holiday - I've really got out of the habit of reading. Hopefully I won't stay up stupidly late scrolling mn which I'm far too wont to do.

Orangelight23 · 26/10/2024 19:58

I would imagine I will be up at 5:30am watching Toy Story 2 rather than the usual 6:30am.

Vettrianofan · 26/10/2024 19:59

A lie in😅😅🤣😂

ForgettingMeNot · 26/10/2024 20:01

I'd love to sleep the extra hour but Sods Law I will be wide awake earlier than normal

I'll be home alone tonight and until mid afternoon tomorrow so there's zero reason not to sleep in except as above.

Yep this is me. Its just my clock will read 5am instead of 6 am in the morning. Which is almost worse 😂

Moier · 26/10/2024 20:05

I have a cat. He doesn't know about the extra hour. Say no more.🤷‍♀️🐈‍⬛🤦‍♀️
Will probably set off for our day out earlier.. have an early lunch on the way..
Probably the coast tomorrow.
Love the coast any time of the year

NotmySundaybest · 26/10/2024 20:07

Currently abroad on holiday 2 hours in front.
How does this work for us lol

UnhealthyCopingStrategies · 26/10/2024 20:07

We will also be up early and bleary eyed. DS has a strong body clock so I'm expecting 4:30-5 new time 😱

pizzaHeart · 26/10/2024 20:10

I need to move our routine to a bit earlier so will use it for this.

UpUpUpU · 26/10/2024 20:11

I finished nights yesterday and didn't sleep in the day so slept from 8.30pm last night to 7.30am this morning so feeling quite awake right now.

I have a miraculously timed, rare child free weekend so I will enjoy waking up at my own leisure and then I have a decorating project in my sons room room tomorrow as a surprise for when he gets home.

Laiste · 26/10/2024 20:11

Nothing. We 'take' our extra hour in the morning after we've got up at normal time.

I love coming downstairs and putting washing on and doing DD's breakfast ect ect and then sitting down with a cupper ..... and remembering the clocks have changed and it's not half 9 it's only half 8 and i get to play minecraft chill for another hour 🙂

UnderOverUp · 26/10/2024 20:11

It’ll make getting to kids rugby at an ungodly hour for a Sunday morning slightly easier for me!

WickWood · 26/10/2024 20:15

An hour more to be awake at night with the baby 😂

Pottedpalm · 26/10/2024 20:16

Sleep.

Saharafordessert · 26/10/2024 20:18

I’ll be celebrating the lighter mornings….up early to ride my horse and do the million jobs that go with him!

Cvn · 26/10/2024 20:20

Thanking the Lord that I no longer work night shifts and don't have to face the soul destroying prospect of being halfway through the shift and watching time go backwards an hour, knowing I'm working that hour for free 😭

ErrolTheDragon · 26/10/2024 20:25

What I should do is get up an hour 'early' and do some exercise... I've been meaning to get back into that habit for years now.

elliejjtiny · 26/10/2024 20:25

The dc will be up at their usual time. I'll get an extra hour in the morning though which will be much appreciated as I've got a load of people coming for lunch and dh is working away this weekend.
