Pizza Hut Buffet

IAKnowyou · 14/10/2024 17:46

Posting here to hopefully get some quick answers.

So I will be going to Pizza Hut for the buffet, at the weekend with my child for one of her friend's parties.
There's a few of us going, and I've had a look online and at weekends it is 15.99 per adult and 10.99 for children !
I am absolutely not going to eat 15.99 worth of pizza! And I doubt my child will eat £11 worth.
Would I be unreasonable to just pay for my child and maybe have a slice of pizza or 2?
I know they charge different per head to stop this. But how do they police this ??
It's not a huge deal, but I would definitely like to know before I go, and like to know if other people do this or not ?
Thanks !

The op asked the question, everyone said yabu, op realised OK and decided to make humour from her proposed cheekiness.

Where was the humour?

Feels too forced

So, what I saud happened did happen, yet apparently I shouldn't point it out.

No. It was more just the 35th attempt to stop the cycle of your posts saying the same thing. It failed.

They would have been within their rights to charge you.

Okay yes, but they didn’t. The restaurant was near empty, the staff saw me do it and cleared the extra plates without a word. I don’t think it’s a big a deal as it’s being made out to be 🤷🏼‍♀️

You really think I'm being serious don't you 😃

Some folk, such as OP, are following that line seriously. By this latest comment I presume you're not.

The staff ignoring theft doesn't make it not theft. They're probably not paid enough to deal with disrespective customers.

Healingsfall · 14/10/2024 21:39

I'll ask a Joey Tribiani question - what if, someone on the next table left the restaurant and I ate some of their left over food? 🤔😆

dreamer24 · 14/10/2024 21:39

@ThornVampire humour is subjective isn't it, that's the whole point of it. Some of us found OP funny, others didn't. Just as others find Alan Carr funny, and I can't stand him. C'est la vie 🤷‍♀️

If people like you hadn't kept denying what OP was doing then I wouldn't have had to repeatedly explain what she did. 😵‍💫

In OPs case it's not genuinely leftover food.

Plainer · 14/10/2024 21:41

I think in a million years, after the planet has been sucked into the sun, zeitweiling will still be here, trying to get a complete stranger to apologise in the manner they deem suitable, for considering whether to share a buffet in Pizza Hut. And then laughing about it.

Eh?

No one's asking to explain a thing. Everyone can read, and can make their own minds up. You seem to keep forgetting that bit.

Exactly. I feel bad for the staff who have to witness the stealing and feel they can't deal with it. Especially as the long term consequences could affect their employment.

Any answer yet regarding potentially stealing pizza or more cards?
That tells us all we need to know.

Yeah, but if we make it all a big joke it's ok, apparently.

Oh please 🤣 I work in a similar setting to Pizza Hut. Hand on heart - nobody cares. And nobody’s losing their job over a spoonful of pasta and two slices of pizza.

I have a feeling if I'm being attacked enough for asking a question like this.. that someone will be sure to tell me it's absolutely not acceptable to take home buffet food 😆

Well obviously it's not if it's AYCE, otherwise you could start loading up great big Tupperware boxes.

To be fair pizza hut probably lose more money by greedy people overloading their plates and leaving uneaten food than they do from customers eating a couple of slices of pizza from their kids plate. The former is why lots of these all you can eat/buffet places are now charging customers if they do this.

You’re spot on - wastage is a much bigger cost to the company than ‘theft’.
