Things someone has done that suddenly made you weirdly attracted to them

I got to work this morning and I have a bit of equipment that I use that I always struggle setting up.

I turned up a bit early and put it on the table ready to set up. A guy I work with who honestly I have never really even liked as a person and am DEFINITELY not remotely
physically attracted to, picked it up off the table while we were all chatting before our shift, and wordlessly constructed it for me.

For a minute I thought he thought it was his and was very confused, but he handed it to me once done.

I cannot stress how much I am not attracted to this man but it was weirdly hot.

Please share your versions of this so I know I’m not a complete weirdo!

I do think we need to be a bit careful of confidence porn tilting into a "ooh, big strong man looking after little me" vibe....

I like people-men and women-to be capable at stuff. To be grown ups. For it to be out of the way attractive for me, it has to be men being capable at things that men often get a pass for not being capable at. Cooking-but not big production, huge mess cooking. A delicious, nutritious family dinner and the washing up done and put away without expecting a gold medal is a good example.

AsburyPark · 12/10/2024 08:08

Yes to the reversing while looking backwards with their hand on the back of the passenger head rest!

Big one for me is if they can play guitar, find me any man, attractive or not, and if they can pick up an electric guitar and effortlessly play then I’ll swoon. Bonus points if they’re a bit Indie.

I also like a man who can dance, don’t necessarily have to be really good at it but confidence and a bit of rhythm on the dance floor is hot.

I assume it was you all dressed up in fabulous heels, not your DH? One is never sure quite these days...

Ha ha, we were both dressed up but definitely me in the heels 🤣

jjemimapuddleduck · 12/10/2024 08:52

For me, it's police officers. Give me a police officer in all their kit, directing traffic, chatting to old ladies, cutting through traffic with their blue lights on. Even more so, when they arrest a baddie or pull out their taser - golly gosh!

Didimum · 12/10/2024 08:57

This is why I love and fancy my DH so much. He’s competent and helpful and proactive without having to be asked.

Ah, that's floored me to be honest ❤️

This one has really stayed with me too.

@lovealongbath what really stands out is your feeling of guilt at having enjoyed this moment. You really mustn't. I'm certain on some deep soul level your husband would give his blessing for you to have experienced this. The guy sounds like a complete gent and read the situation perfectly. Neither of you have done anything wrong so don't be hard on yourself, I can't imagine how difficult things are. Take good care.

Abhannmor · 12/10/2024 10:17

Yes @lovealongbath it was a lovely moment , you rightly cherish it.

I know exactly who you mean. He has beautiful hands and firearms. He can hammer me anytime.

Also helps that quite often he’s muttering “good girl” while nuzzling them back

😈😈😈

@Oodiks I am SAHM, DH without my asking set up and invested in a private pension for me, it’s a dealing account. It’s all in my name. He has his own one too. This was 20+ years ago. This summer he casually asked if I’d like to know how it’s doing, have a guess what it’s worth. It was quadruple my guess. I check it myself now every other day to see how the markets are performing and get cross when something political happens that affects my pension pot 😂. So sexy he has quietly done this year after year for me. His background was hard (homeless when he was 16) so it’s very endearing.

Arraminta · 12/10/2024 11:08

Thought of another. Watching DH write something, so hot! He has really nice hands and holds a pen properly (not all cramped up). And he has really lovely handwriting too. I could watch him write all day.

Same when he wet shaved. Nice.

GirlOfThe70s · 12/10/2024 11:37

The sideways bunny-hop over a fence or railing another poster mentioned- I love that too. I don't watch EastEnders but did catch a scene years ago when Grant Mitchell vaulted over the bar like that and I thought "oooh", though do not fancy him in the least.
And fell in love all over again with my husband as he reversed the car effortlessly up a narrow country lane, one hand on the wheel, one arm on the back of his seat, looking backwards. His shirt sleeves were rolled up and I was transfixed by the whole thing, his watch strap, his hairy forearms, just his whole quiet masculinity.

CrystalSingerFan · 12/10/2024 11:55

A long time ago I knew someone who fancied me more than I fancied him. I kept turning him down, although we were friends.

One day we were at a museum, watching a pair of blokes dressed up as Roman gladiators and educating a random bunch of visitors. They wanted an adult male to put on a chain mail tunic, carry a sword and pretend to be a new gladiator. Friend volunteered (despite shyness and frankly having no potential gladiatorial skills). It was adorable and sexy. So, reader, I shagged him. (Not in the museum.)

DadJoke · 12/10/2024 12:05

Takes notes 🗒️

I can definitely roll up my shirt sleeves!

Aposterhasnoname · 11/10/2024 14:45

Micheal McIntyre did a routine about his wife telling him how sexy she found it when he reversed the car. I’m totally with her on that one, when a man just casually reverses into a really tight space, one hand on the wheel, the other on the back of the seat while he looks behind him. Bonus points for rolled up sleeves and nice forearms.

The car reversing one seems to be popular from what I can remember about previous threads on this theme.

JohnTheRevelator · 12/10/2024 17:50

A man being kind and gentle to animals (especially to tiny kittens and puppies) does it for me. When I watch videos on YouTube and TikTok of big strong men rescuing and helping tiny animals,it makes me go weak at the knees.

Lilith666 · 12/10/2024 17:51

Met a nice chap whilst out walking my dog many years ago. We got chatting and met up several times as friends, I was trying to work out which one of my friends I could fix him up with as he wasn't my type. THEN, one day he turned up on a huge roaring motorbike and it gave me fanny flutters! We've been married now and happy for nearly 22 years. 😉

Saschka · 11/10/2024 14:22

I know, and instead they spend all of their time feigning helplessness. Little realising your vag is clamping shut every time you have to clean the bathroom/put up a shelf/mow the lawn yourself because they are scared of the lawnmower.

Could not have framed it better myself.

Oh my God, yes. I've waxed lyrical about my DH's violinist's fingers already...but one day, he picked up a fucking QUILL. And wrote. In Norwegian.

Man looks like someone from a gothic novel already, I nearly keeled over. 😂

SpiggingBelgium · 11/10/2024 16:25

Got his massive wang out.

Not really the spirit of the thread 😂

Thefsm · 12/10/2024 18:08

When my husband is at work in his lab coat with his blue rubber gloves on and sleeves pushed up and he’s masterfully pu petting stuff into tiny trays with a really long pipettes and his hands don’t shake at all… he just looks so confident and sexy.

WitchyMoon · 12/10/2024 18:19

I wish my DH would understand how attractive it is when he does chores! I have tried telling him but it goes in one ear and out the other.
Interestingly, when you flip some of the comments- ie. It’s me that drives, I’m a dab hand at reversing, do all the DIY around the house, including fitting our kitchen, and have the attitude of anything a man can do, so can I. But instead of this being swoony, it results in emasculation, with me then having to reassure DH that it doesn’t matter what society expects of men, I enjoy it, it’s my skill set. Maybe he does though, but doesn’t say it in fear of swelling my ego… 😂😂
He is a FANTASTIC dad though, and when he sits with our kids having the most amazing conversations that I would find boring, I love him that little bit more 😃

tommyhoundmum · 12/10/2024 18:20

On two occasions many years ago I arrived at bottom of the longest escalator at Euston with a huge hairy dog and stood wondering how we would get to the top safely. Each time a man walked up took in the situation and put my dog round his shoulders like a lamb and up we went.

I was really thrilled.

Sweetcheeks21 · 12/10/2024 18:22

At Uni there was a guy who had asked me out but I wasn’t that keen. I then went to an open mic type thing at one of the pubs one night and he was playing piano (brilliantly!) and he then started to sing. I went home with him that night 😂

I find it very attractive when somebody makes an effort to make conversation or just generally be friendly. So many people these days - I’m sure for various reasons - make no effort to create a nice atmosphere or to be welcoming or friendly to others that when people do it stands out.

Absolutely. This happened yesterday (and relevant to this thread I suppose) when a man held the door open to the café for DS and me, with a smile no less! Then proceeded to make small talk about DS whilst in the queue. It was lovely Smile

That sideways bunny hopping over fences they do.

I don't know what it's called but it always makes me feel i bit odd 😂

God knows what evolutionary advantage bunny hopping over fences has ?!?

Got to love a nimble man!
