Ordered new duvets the other day. Were supposed to arrive at store Wednesday.

I was doing a tip run Wednesday morning and saw email that order had arrived at store to collect.

I'd posted a few places about donating old duvets for dogs etc but no where took them so just took them to the tip.

Got home and opened email and saw the order had been split into 2 and my duvet was at store to collect but the kids duvets were not.

Tracking for kids duvets says 'we are waiting for your item to leave our depot' so they've not even picked them yet.

I phoned customer service and asked them to resend them. She said they can't as there not in stock.

I looked online and they are!

So I phoned back and they said no, we don't have the option for click and collect to resend items.

So I can either wait to see if anything happens by Tuesday or cancel now and reorder myself.

But refund will take 5 days.

I don't have the money to just reorder them! And if I reordered them why will THOSE ones be sent but mine haven't??

The kids have no duvets, I know that my fault for not double le checking the email but it's getting bloody cold.

Why can't they just resend them :(

Gone to the tip presumably!

Spenditlikebeckham · 21/09/2024 11:07

After reading the above it says op took the duvets to the tip....

PotteringAlonggotkickedoutandhadtoreregister · 21/09/2024 11:07

I don’t think you can be annoyed at Asda for the fact that you binned your kids duvets before checking that they had sent the new ones!

KittyGetSmall · 21/09/2024 11:07

Yes I took them to the tip as I recieved an email that their new ones had arrived to collect, but it was only mine.

I did try and find somewhere to donate them but dog shelters don't take them anymore it seems.

Edited

no i meant before then!

theemmadilemma · 21/09/2024 11:07

This is why you don't bin stuff until you have the replacement in your hand.

Blankets, coats. They'll manage few days. Make it an adventure!

can you afford to get two cheapo ones?

then they can be spare in future

poetryandwine · 21/09/2024 11:08

Asda online are terrible. Sadly you’ve found out the hard way, OP.

mycatsbestfriend · 21/09/2024 11:08

well order from argos they should deliver same day and cancel the asda order

what’s happened to your children’s duvet?

She took them to the tip, it's in the op.

I'd just buy them elsewhere and cancel the order.
Dunelm, IKEA, Home Bargains, Tesco, almost every home store sells duvets to take away.

shuffleofftobuffalo · 21/09/2024 11:09

This not having duvets because you binned them is entirely your fault as you didn't read the email properly.

The duvets not being available is really annoying tho.

Yes that isn't their fault, but I did pay for delivery of something that should have arrived 4 days ago and hasn't even moved yet. It reads like the parcels been lost?
Thw item is in stock. It was ordered a week ago, I feel like that should send a replacement.

The kids not having duvets is just an annoying cherry on top. But thw poor customer service is the real issue.

If the item should have been at the shop 4 days ago and nothing has happened, no items have been picked etc they need to send some out!

Why did everyone need new duvets at the same time?

The refund will take 5 days. I already spent the budget for the duvets, I dont have the money until the refund is returned

you were a bit previous i think

Skipsurvey · 21/09/2024 11:11

do you have any sleeping bags?

BobbyBiscuits · 21/09/2024 11:11

That sounds annoying. I'm the type that would Google name of CEO and email their office. It's bad optics for the CEOs EAs to ignore the plight of children with no duvets. Be assertive and explain how you need them to sort it out. Don't be angry or rude though obviously. I've had good results from this approach before.

On a side note, I'm wondering if homeless charities would take washed used duvets/bedding etc? Just a thought as it does seem a shame to throw it out when there's people going to be on the streets cold. They could have drop off points or special 'bins' near the dump for clean bedding.
Of course I'm not criticising you, just more thinking it would be a good idea.

Hope it gets sorted asap.

Skipsurvey · 21/09/2024 11:11

can you cancel the order and buy from another shop?

KittyGetSmall · 21/09/2024 11:11

StudioCreate · 21/09/2024 11:10

Why did everyone need new duvets at the same time?

Because they just had thin summer ones that were years old and I thought I would get new ones for winter as it was getting cold

in the time given mild temps

sheets and blankets will do

nutrosti · 21/09/2024 11:12

family or friends local that could lend?

They were very old and used, I didn't think they would have been accepted for humans. I tried to see if dog shelters wanted them.

hold on to things, just in case Wink

Needmorelego · 21/09/2024 11:17

Annoying but the money should be refunded fairly quickly and you can just walk into Argos/B+M/Poundstretchers/Home Bargains/Primark/Whatever retailers you have near you and buy them off the shelf.
As for now. My daughter is currently sleeping inside her quilt cover as a sleeping bag because she said her quilt was too hot. If your children are feeling the cold just add hot water bottles and a blanket on top if needed and your kids will be fine.
