To think kitten heels are now acceptable?

So I used to wear the high heels and now I live in trainers and boots.

But I see kitten heels a lot now and some lovely ones in Zara.

acceptable to whom? Trendy gen z? Men you want to seduce? Your colleagues?

Toastandbutterand · 20/09/2024 22:52

If you like them, wear them.

Noone else cares 🤷

Theimpossiblegirl · 20/09/2024 22:53

Pop yourself over to style and beauty. You'll get better comments.

Notsuchafattynow · 20/09/2024 23:26

Yes they are. There were some lovely ones in Mango over the summer.

JC03745 · 20/09/2024 23:32

When were they NOT acceptable to wear??? 🤔

Neveranynamesleft · 20/09/2024 23:34

I'll wear what I want thanks

DramaAlpaca · 20/09/2024 23:43

What do you mean by acceptable?

If you're asking whether they're in fashion, they are everywhere at the moment so they must be.

If you like them, wear them!

Coatsoff42 · 20/09/2024 23:45

100% yes, I think it’s a 90s thing which is on again.

Growlybear83 · 20/09/2024 23:53

I've been wearing kitten heels for many years now since damage to my back made it painful to wear higher heels. They've always been around, and I really don't give a toss whether people think they are unfashionable or not.

Unacceptable by whose orders?
Yes, on deck a yacht they are unacceptable as they (and stilettos) damage the teak
They may be unacceptable in a trainer shop, but ...
Clarity required please!

Wittyapple · 21/09/2024 01:28

I don’t understand the question, they have always been acceptable.

50s, 70s, quite a few other decades too. As is the same with platforms and pretty much every type of shoe since Noah was a lad.
I live in trainers mostly, but then again, I haven't really bothered with shoe fashion since the 70s platforms era!

About 2005-2023

GildedRage · 21/09/2024 01:31

They’ve been available my entire life, I remember seeing them in the 60’s. Kitten heeled version of high heeled shoes have always looked great and fashionable.

What’s “on deck a yacht”?

Just because something is available doesn’t make it “fashionable” though

They haven’t

It's a way of saying on the deck of a yacht.

Edingril · 21/09/2024 02:49

eyesofocean · 21/09/2024 02:40

They haven’t

By whom?

I think all heels look ridiculous but the world won't end if people wear what they want, there is no law to say what people can wear or not

NQOCDarling · 21/09/2024 02:53

Please deefine what you mean by acceptable in this context. What is acceptable to one person may not be to anther. It is a very specific term which is hatd to relate to an item of footwear.
If you had asked " are peep-hole bra's with no other covering acceptable?', that's using 'acceptable' in the correct context.
So, are you suggesting that kitten heels are in some way unacceptable to socity, or just a few? Or do you mean unfashionable?

GildedRage · 21/09/2024 02:59

@eyesofocean I don’t know if you’re
being facetious BUT kitten heels have been fashionable all along as an alternative to high heels more so than wedges and block heels.
Maybe you’re not petite, but for petite ladies proportionately it’s the go to height.
Are you relatively young and basing your new appreciation based on the last 2 years? Or magazines?
they are a classic.

Threetrees745 · 21/09/2024 03:05

Love how all the posters are giving the faux confusion trying to ask what the poster means by acceptable, knowing fine well that for about 25 years absolutely no one except your granny was wearing a kitten heel 🤣

You all KNOW what the OP means, why is everyone being a dick about it?

fossilgap · 21/09/2024 03:08

I know they’re in fashion, but I can’t bring myself to like them, plus also unless you’re super skinny, you look like an enormous weight on tiny heels
