Inspired by the other thread (which wouldn't you visit again), if you could only choose one country to visit again which one and why?

Having asked I'm struggling to answer myself! I think probably Italy for the food and history but part of me wants to say Tibet because it's so stunning and culturally interesting.

Country wise, probably none. I like going to different countries and having a new adventure.. and the other thread has put me off of a whole bunch of countries 😂

However (and this isn't even a different country).. Cornwall! No matter what we do, where we go, I always find myself wanting to head back to there. Such a lovely part of the country imo.

Norway. Stunning, clean, loads to do (if you like outdoors!), not too hot!

SnowflakeSmasher86 · 15/09/2024 21:48

Italy. I’ve been to many towns in different regions at different stages of my life and with different companions. If I could only visit one country forever it would be Italy.

I’m sure there are plenty of other beautiful and culturally interesting places to visit but I haven’t been anywhere I prefer yet.

Mandarinaduck · 15/09/2024 21:48

Slovenia. Incredibly beautiful and loads of fun things to do.

HelpMeUnpickThis · 15/09/2024 21:48

Zimbabwe. I admit I am biased. Straight to Victoria Falls. Would never get bored / tired of going there.

olderbutwiser · 15/09/2024 21:49

Costa Rica. Amazing wildlife, amazing experiences, intelligent and professional approach to tourism. Loved every minute.

AceOfCups · 15/09/2024 21:50

Japan

its so different from anywhere else so you really feel like you’re travelling. I would go with an empty suitcase so I could stock up on stationery and fabric.

Yes, me too. I went on my first holiday with my now DH. I’m really looking forward to going back with DCs when they’re older.

Russia. Amazing country, would love to go back.

senua · 15/09/2024 21:51

I wouldn't name ONE country. But I do like Italy and Greece: interesting things / places to see., nice weather, nice food, nice people.

Dweetfidilove · 15/09/2024 21:52

Ghana - hated the capital city, but loved Kumasi. Only visited once, but it felt like home so I plan to visit again.

Kenya - love the people, love the food and the nightlife has a buzz ☺️. Been several times and will always go back.

The US - for all it's craziness, I always enjoy my time.

Whothefuckdoesthat · 15/09/2024 21:52

Canada. I went years ago with an ex and it was… difficult. I’d like to do the same trip again with DH. And Rome.

PermanentTemporary · 15/09/2024 21:53

The way I feel at the moment, USA. I feel as if I'll never get tired of it. I'm lucky to have been to Italy a few times though. And a few years ago I would have said France.

BobbyBiscuits · 15/09/2024 21:53

Spain. Because I want to live there. So not leave!
Italy, as I only went there for a week but it's so beautiful. Also Greece. I love their hospitality.

Sallyingon · 15/09/2024 21:58

Greece, food, sea, history people. Lots of different variations and choice. Could never get bored
Also as pp above I feel the same about Italy and Spain

FlimFlambros · 15/09/2024 21:58

Denmark or Iceland, my dream locations. Possibly even Norway although have yet to visit it, I assume it will be amazing!

Olinguita · 15/09/2024 22:02

India ❤️

LoobyLous · 15/09/2024 22:03

Thailand for the people and the beauty. We love Bangkok.

Meadowfinch · 15/09/2024 22:05

Oooh, lots of lovely places.
Barbados
Italy
Canada
Portugal
Sweden
Denmark
Some bits of the USA - rural Vermont, rural North Carolina
Tobago
Scotland

😎

If this is about recommendations for other people, then New Zealand.
Stunning place, and so easy to travel around.

Realistically, due to how long it takes to get there and back, and the cost, then I think the place I'm more likely to go back to is Italy - purely because it is more realistic cost and time wise, and there is so much history and architecture there I'd like to see.

honeyrider · 15/09/2024 22:25

Italy would probably be one of my favourite countries.

If confined to one country then at the moment Australia would have to be the country so I could visit my son. Planning to go at Christmas but I hope he doesn't settle there.

MonsteraMama · 15/09/2024 22:26

Peru, one of my favourite holidays I've ever been on with some of my favourite travel memories.

Martymcfly24 · 15/09/2024 22:28

USA : just for sheer variety of landscape and cultures. It is breathtakingly beautiful in so many parts.

inabubble3 · 15/09/2024 22:29

Italy x

Summatoruvva · 15/09/2024 22:30

Italy cannot be beaten imo

I'm surprised somebody said Norway. The scenery is good but I found the people quite rude and the cities boring.
