I've heard her put on a weird voice and repeatedly say, 20+ times, Scooby Dooby Doo in said weird voice. Turned off and 10 minutes later went into a shop that had Radio 2 on and she was still doing it. FFS she's paid a fortune for that nonsense and we're paying through the licence fee.

Awful. Scott used to be great but I think he's lost his mojo.

Rosienose · 12/11/2025 14:07

She’s doing a bloody amazing job with the children in need challenge I love her

She is doing so well! For those who dislike her radio 2 show, try her podcast Teen Commandments , it’s so funny!

StillCreatingAName · 13/11/2025 20:13

If you’re so in awe of her OP, do the kind thing of asking for your this mean thread to be deleted…

Justnevergetsthere · 13/11/2025 20:35

I asked for this thread to be taken down ages ago. Total mean girl vibes.

abracadabra1980 · 13/11/2025 21:28

Can’t bear her accent. Nothing personal. I can’t bear Vicky Pattisons either and I’m from her home area.

The accent wasn't the problem for me, it's how she mispronounces words on purpose wife/waaorrff and says things like holibobs And gets fixated on things.

Vicky Pattison is a professional Geordie.

Apart from running in the rain and sporting her northern credentials at every opportunity really does she justify our licence fee?

I could be misreading your whole antsy, licence fee moaner, I’ve cancelled mine and no way do I secretly still watch The Wheel live on a Saturday night whilst browsing the Daily Mail online and nobody can make me pay the licence fee supportive vibe, apologies if so my dear, but I’m guessing you’ve never raised £9M+ whilst ‘running in the rain’?

mids2019 · 17/11/2025 21:31

Of I got paid 300,000 a year of course I would do a bit of training and run up some hills.

YorkshireMedusa · 18/11/2025 10:59

We're not going to stop hearing about it anytime soon. There's been lots of ads saying she's having a rest and will be back Wednesday. It'll be the top topic of conversation on the show for the rest of the week at least. Why's she raised more than Vernon and Paddy though? Because she's more popular or because it almost destroyed her? These challenges should stop. Someone will do themselves a mischief eventually.

I just wonder how a presenter can graduate from an amateur disaster like the Girlie Show to become an extremely well paid DJ (from the licence fee payers pockets) with a job for life which will leave her a multi millionaire. It's as if we are prepared to gloss over the entertainment industry's nepotism and accept those devoid of any real talent as cultural icons. We should have open auditions for these prone presenter jobs to extract the real talent in the UK.....

I also note that both Vernon and Sara were models in their previous careers and maybe there is a suggestion good looks can hide a lack of talent.

On TV last night. Who knew there would be a BBC programme about her run and got mentioned again this am on R2.

This whole nasty thread is just one big personal attack. Either nobody is moderating or it is abundantly clear MN just does not care.

This thread was started about an irritating segment on her radio show last year. About her presenting style not her as an individual.

It’s just trashing her completely. Any thread that rips to sheds and belittles anything she does including an incredibly hard attempt to raise money for charity is a very nasty personal attack.

It’s just vile and incredibly mean girls.

A post just above talks about her being a multi millionaire. The OP I started did not trash her. It was about the childish manner of presentation on a radio show aimed at adults. Though being a multi millionaire through repeating Scooby Doo on prime time radio is questionable. It's talking about her radio show that I found annoying. That's all.

At that time we hadn't even had Paddy McGuiness on his chopper, never mind Sara running five days in all kinds of weather.

I got in my car last night about 6.30 pm and the radio was tuned to R2. I left it on though my drive was only 10 minutes. I never heard her mention the CIN challenge once.

We are entitled not to find TV and radio shows to our taste and to discuss that on a discussion board. I've never once 'trashed' her as an individual. If people do overstep, there's a report function.

Like I said it's horses for courses. I don't mind humour on the radio, makes the world go round, but not when it's juvenile as I'm not a child.

It’s just nasty. You don’t like her, many others do. Is it really necessary to start such an unpleasant thread pulling to shreds how she speaks, her work, her charity challenge…

The phrase do better comes to mind.

I don't like her style of presenting. I don't like or dislike her as I've never met her. She's probably a very nice person. I've said that already.

I've never once pulled apart her charity challenge. When this thread began it was 14 months before it. I've said that already.

The way she speaks at times on her radio show is silly. I'm sure she does not do that in real life.

As for her work, I quite enjoy her book club show and things she's done on the TV. I've said that already.

In your own words, @Bubb13Wrap , when reading and interpreting posts, do try to do better.

I heard her tonight for a short while. She called a man whose name is Tony "T-Dog" (why??) and the idiosyncratic pronunciations were back. I've never noticed Spoony sounding chavvy.
