OK I'll start by saying I've never really liked Oasis' songs but I think Noel is quite talented. I also like some of the stuff they've both done since Oasis. But whenever I see Liam perform either solo or with the band I can't help but wonder why people rate him so much? He just stands there with his hands behind his back (doesnt ge get neckache?) & hits a tambourine occasionally. He doesn't seem to have much stage presence. Happy to be proved wrong

I understand that but I'd say that to have charisma you need to actually move around the stage, not just stand there? Even musicians with guitars or other instruments come away from the mic for a bit to actually engage with the audience

He's so fuckin cool he doesn't need to. He sells out massive stadiums by just standing there and the crowd goes wild!

I CANNOT FUCKING WAIT

Pulp live around 1998 are in my top 10 of band performances. Jarvis was an amazing front man.

Love Jarvis

Remember on Shooting Stars when he got pulled over by a kitten which made holes in the knees of his trousers? Just made me love him more 🥰

I think they're music is lazy derivative crap, but what Liam had (he looks a state now and can't carry a tune in a bucket) was the X factor (before a shitty reality show misused the term) Oasis weren't the first band to get a scally lad, dressed like a football hooligan to give it a bit of swagger and plenty have tried since. but he has an undeniable something that you can't bottle, the lack of movement and lack of crowd interaction and moodiness is part of that aura.

I had a snog off Liam once, a hundred years ago, but didn’t take it further so cannot confirm or deny the dirty ashtray escape theory 😁
I never thought he could sing though. How come men can get away with being shit singers and revered frontmen but I honestly can’t think of any women who front bands and actually can’t sing?

Clearly you don't remember Sleeper.

If you're particularly attentive you might notice that sometimes he sings as well as shaking his tambourine.

A friend of mine met him one night. Like properly, with lots of time, drinks and chat.
Said he couldn't have been any nicer Smile

Sadly, as a huge Jam fan it was Paul Weller! 1 hour of self indulgent musical wanking!

*1 hour of self indulgent musical wanking 😂😂😂

Debbie Harry famously couldn't dance. She just stomped her feet a bit and moved her shoulders up and down. An entire nation fell in love with her and she still spawns tribute acts.

BTW my sister in laws sister shagged Ian Brown. It was tawdry - he sent a roadie to invite her upstairs, then proceeded to sing her a song she didn't recognise. Sex was nowt to write home about.

It certainly isn't singing these days!

But she could sing and looked like an Alien Goddess…
Yeah I reckon Ian Brown would be a terrible shag. I think all rock stars would be tbh. It’s the ego.

ItsZa · 28/08/2024 11:06

The comments about how bad his singing is now are a bit harsh even if they are true. It's because of medical issues.

queenofarles · 28/08/2024 11:22

I don’t think Oasis would be Oasis without Liam as their Frontman, The Man was everything !
and judging by all the memes about going to work Dressed like Liam, down to the attitude is all the proof you need.

Yea well you just gotta roll with it
