Dp doesn’t like my new hair style

Had it cut shorter yesterday after seeing a bob style that I liked. He pulled a face and didn’t seem very pleased, said he likes ‘long hair better’. Now I’m feeling like I’m now unattractive to him. What would you do?

Tell him to sod off

Wear my hair exactly how I like it and not give any second thought to what he might prefer.

Tell him that you hadn't realised he was so shallow. His response is pretty unattractive.

Tell him it's not his fucking hair.

I don’t know that he’s done anything so wrong. He’s just given his honest opinion.

He doesn't have to like it. How do YOU feel about it? That's what matters.

He’s entitled to his opinion but essentially you need to have your hair how you like it.

I don’t see anything wrong with what he’s said. I love my husband’s hair and would be disappointed if he came home from the barbers with a very short style. I’d tell him I preferred it longer if he asked me, too.

Speaking as a man, in that situation you lie, lie, lie.

He was rude to comment (unless you asked him). However, now that you know he likes it long, you can either choose to grow it back or keep it short if that's what you prefer. It's not complicated, it's just hair.

Everyone has preferences, but it’s ultimately up to you how you wear your hair. If you’re happy with it and think it looks nice that’s the main thing.

My DP has a very big beard and moustache and I really don’t like it when he doesn’t have it. Obviously I still love and find him attractive, I just find him more attractive with it.

I agree but it's not clear whether she asked him or he spontaneously offered his view. If she asked then he's done nothing wrong, if she didn't ask then he's been a little rude but this feels like a non-issue to me either way.

Well, it's your hair and you can do what you like, but he doesn't have to like it.

Like PP said, there are always threads on here about men growing beards or long hair and women saying how much they hate it 🤷‍♀️

It’s up to you how you want your hair but people do have preferences and nothing wrong with that.

I hated it when DH grew a beard, I didn’t find him attractive. He kept it for years though as he does what he likes. I stopped kissing him though and it also affected our sex life.

How have you extrapolated that he doesn’t find you attractive anymore? He just said he preferred your hair how it was before. You’re reading too much into it. He’ll probably get used to it.

I've told my partner when I haven't liked his hair as much. We're all allowed to have preferences.

Why? Don’t you want to look nice for your husband? If he got a haircut I didn’t like, I’d tell him.

If you can’t tell your spouse that you are not keen on their haircut, your marriage has bigger issues.

Next time he’s in the shower pull a face then tell him you like them longer.
