Mine is ‘buttery soft’…If you haven’t come across this phrase, it is mainly used when describing leggings or other clothes, but now I’ve even seen it being used to describe gold jewellery! Also butter isn't that soft…Margariney soft doesn’t have the same ring to it I suppose.. Anyone else?

‘Showcasing’ when used constantly by tabloids…

(insert celebrity name) showcasing her figure

...and "parading"! 😖

Stephy1886 · 06/08/2024 06:44

“Revert back”

using terms in the corporate World like calling a meeting room a “war room”. We aren’t going to war

”there’s a lot to unpack here”

On fb groups "I'd like to introduce myself and share a photo I took"

So annoying and I'm not 100% sure why, probably because it's usually a photo someone else took 😂 and secondly just share it you don't need to introduce your photo

Chippy tea.

Oh yes, I don't know why it annoys me, but it does

Absolutely! Doesn't word art get incredibly boring incredibly quickly? I always wonder about people who feel they need to be reminded that the kitchen is for cooking, the bathroom for washing etc.

😂Yes, I do appreciate being reminded to 'Relax' (usually in swirly writing) when sat in the living room etc.

'At the end of the day..'

When someone advertises something for sale ..mainly on facebook.. and writes 'Need gone' or 'need gone today'

'On route' instead of 'en route' arrghhhhh!!!!

HardyRoseSquid · 06/08/2024 08:27

It always really annoys me when people say ‘you’ll have another thing coming’ instead of ‘another think coming’. I know the former is now so widespread it’s basically accepted as a legitimate alternative but to me it just doesn’t make sense and is a much worse turn of phrase!

KTSl1964 · 06/08/2024 08:28

Surlyburd · 06/08/2024 08:58

"You do the math", hate the phrase and maths has an s in the UK.
"At the end of the day"

wwyd2021medicine · 06/08/2024 09:24

Sweet treat
I can barely type it as I loathe the phrase so much.
I'm an adult. I can decide if I want something full of sugar or not. To call it a sweet treat makes me feel infantilised and it's usually aimed at women.

Or ‘Bathe’ in case you go into the bathroom and need a visual reminder of why you’re there.
