I mean how long does it take to write son, daughter, husband? And they're not always darling or dear are they? TBH. My personal bug bears are LOL, IMHO and, most of all, worst of all. AF! Just say period for god's sake! What are we, floral apron wearing, valium munchers, living in middle america in the 1950's?

VS - I was just going to post that '40 +6', '41 + 3= etc seems very common on the baby-in-waiting threads - usually said through gritted teeth

Oblomov · 14/04/2008 12:15

D means darling for me. EVERY TIME.
I love my dh so much it hurts. Even when he is a PITA. And ds. Some people really do love their husbands, did you know thta ?
Sorry, I am in a very odd mood today. Blame it on pregnancy hormones. And a very very ill ds with bad stomach bug. Forgive me, I am on a right one today

MinkyBorage · 14/04/2008 12:15

what sheikyerbouti said

WanderingTrolley · 14/04/2008 12:15

Wait till you start reading Pedants' Corner, then you'll see defensive. We have entire threads over common mispellings and the abuse of the apostrophe.

I kinda think dh is a compromise sparing us all from hubby.

Bleah.

Oblomov · 14/04/2008 12:16

I really don't like BD. Horrible thought. I mean sex, making love= normal BD ? YUK.

SheikYerbouti · 14/04/2008 12:16

It's not cutesy on here either ( well, some bits are) because we aren't censored to within an inch of our lives and we can say crap without some self important mod sending us e-mails telling us that we are naughty little girls

I do reallt fucking hate Baby dancing. And AF. But not many folk use that.

MehgaLegs · 14/04/2008 12:17

I'm feeling defensive. So what?

bergentulip · 14/04/2008 12:18

I thought it a worthwhile post BAS. I was interested to see the reaction too.... but then, I guess I am a relative 'newbie' around these parts.

I have just got used to all the acronyms.

Oblomov · 14/04/2008 12:18

WT, Sheik and I are far to frightened to go to PC!!! We would both be slaughtered / killed.

WanderingTrolley · 14/04/2008 12:18

Ooh, hello Sheiky! Haven't seen you in ages! I have been suffering from rl, it has been unpleasant.

Y'know what else gets me? Hijacking.

Flynnie · 14/04/2008 12:18

YABU.
However I have to say that I keep having to stop myself from using them in real life.

MinkyBorage · 14/04/2008 12:19

what acronyms could you use instead though sheik, if your on ttc then you need acronyms because you say it such a lot, maybe OTB = on the blob or PI= Painters In, and as for BD, how about UPFS = using prtner for sperm ???

Oblomov · 14/04/2008 12:20

I nearly posted 'dh' on my ebay feedback the other day !

VictorianSqualor · 14/04/2008 12:20

LOL WT.
I feel like the hijack queen lately, I reckon everyone of my 'threads I'm on' must've turned into 'ooh VS, you 'ad it yet?'
I do lurve a good hijack.

MinkyBorage · 14/04/2008 12:20

oh no I obviously meant if you're on ttc

bergentulip · 14/04/2008 12:20

So, what are all these other forum websites then? Can I go and check them out, and see how cutesie they are?

(by the way, I don't think MN cutesie.... for all defensive MNers out there- warding off possible abuse here!!)

DontCallMeBaby · 14/04/2008 12:20

It takes AGES to type 'daughter'! It's a really long word. And it's a good job Cod doesn't have any, cos imagine what she'd do to it. Those of us with daughters would be all sniffy with those who have sons, because they'd find it so much easier to post. It would be awful.

SheikYerbouti · 14/04/2008 12:20

Hello WT!

RL?

PortAndLemon · 14/04/2008 12:21

Nowt wrong with "period" and "had sex". IMHO and IYSWIM .

Oblomov · 14/04/2008 12:21

Minky thats gross. Like he's only a sperm donor. Lovingly having/enjoying sex whilst deliberatly trying to conceive ????
No ?

MehgaLegs · 14/04/2008 12:21

I am as far fron cutsie as it is possible to be.

PortAndLemon · 14/04/2008 12:22

There is... netmums. Actually, have never posted on netmums, but I always imagine they use BD, and {{{hugs}}}, and "hun", and so forth.

MinkyBorage · 14/04/2008 12:22
Wink
MamaG · 14/04/2008 12:22
