My husband just threw a toy at my face while I was holding our toddler. Should I call the police?

Why did he do that? What happened?

If you feel you were assaulted, yes call the police!! Hope you are okay x

StSwithinsDay · 12/07/2024 20:05

Why did he throw it? There was a poster here the other day who threw a bin at her husband's face and quite a few posters felt he deserved it

KitchenDancefloor · 12/07/2024 20:06

Make sure you and your child are immediately safe first.

But yes, you are justified in calling the police.

WhatToDo123abc · 12/07/2024 20:07

We were arguing about how little he does around the house, i didn't do anything physical. I have a swollen lip now

NotbloodyGivingupYet · 12/07/2024 20:08

Louu247 · 12/07/2024 20:14

WhatToDo123abc · 12/07/2024 20:18

Definitely the police. I’m so sorry. It’s not your fault, it’s his. He did that while you were holding his child. He is dangerous

AssortedWhiteLabels · 12/07/2024 20:21

Yes, you should. He assaulted you and he easily have hit your toddler. Police.

MissUltraViolet · 12/07/2024 20:22

Not only did he end up hurting you, in that moment he was also happy to take the risk of it hitting your child in the face too. None of you are safe.

Call them.

KreedKafer · 12/07/2024 20:23

Call the police and end the relationship. He threw something at your face. It’s never, ever OK to do that in any circumstances. And it’s even worse that he did it in front of your child.

Jeschara · 12/07/2024 20:23

Call the Police now, you were holding the baby, you have split lip, what if the baby had even hurt.
Please keep safe from this abusive man.

StSwithinsDay · 12/07/2024 20:25

Where is he now?

WhatToDo123abc · 12/07/2024 20:25

Do I call 101. I am worried about the effect it will have on out autistic son. If we split it would really effect him (he in only 6)

Upstairs. He smashed a glass on the floor aswell, hoovered it up then went upstairs

I personally wouldn’t call the police unless I was scared of a future incident tonight, but I would log it with an online phone or 101 tomorrow. So there is a record. I assume you want to end the relationship (I certainly would be)? Please leave this evening and stay with family or a friend if you’re concerned in anyway

Maray1967 · 12/07/2024 20:27

Call the police. That is wholly unacceptable and dangerous.

GrumpyPanda · 12/07/2024 20:28

Please OP call the police. Your son will be seriously traumatized by the abuse going on in his house.

Amberpants · 12/07/2024 20:29

What about the effect on him if the physical abuse gets worse?

Sidebeforeself · 12/07/2024 20:31

Call the police but only of you are prepared to go through with whatever it leads to. Don’t call them and then don’t take their advice etc….otherwise he will only see it as a gesture

DontBiteTheCat · 12/07/2024 20:32

You need to call the police. You have been assaulted while holding your child. It is only through luck that the toy didn’t hit him.

Violence only escalates, it does not get better. You need to call the police for the sake of your children, you need to protect them from his abuse.

WhatToDo123abc · 12/07/2024 20:33

Is the online domestic form good enough or is it best to call 101?

OP posts:
DontBiteTheCat · 12/07/2024 20:34

Call 101 if it is safe to do so, could you text someone you trust to come over?

StormingNorman · 12/07/2024 20:35

Can you go to a friend or family nearby? Just for tonight x
