To think that smoking weed outside in the summer is anti social

My neighbours are a couple in their late 50s, we get on ok but there's no love lost there- they complain about everyone else all of the time but never do wrong themselves.

Over the last 2 years they've developed a weed habit (it's medicinal apparently) and now the sun is out they seem to take turns chain smoking weed so our garden smells almost constantly of weed. If we leave the windows open it makes our house smell of it too so when they light up we have to close the windows.

Our gardens are narrow terraced gardens so we can't escape it. Aibu to think that constantly smoking weed in the summer when people around you want to use their gardens is anti social?

Cannabis is legal in the UK for medicinal use, if you have a prescription. I personally take it as an oil but you can also vape it legally. Smoking it is always illegal, though.

I would be reporting via 101 and filing a report of anti social behaviour to the council every single incidence.

Realistically, weed is not going to be legalised. It was moved to class B because of the link between smoking skunk and mental illness. A year or so ago there was some talk of moving it to class A but that didn’t go anywhere.

Chemical infused skunk smells disgusting and is at the heart of a major MH crisis amongst young men. I wouldn't mind the old school solid Lebanese Hash so much!

I get that other smells like bonfires and bbqs are annoying and intrusive but they tend to only be occasional and last for an hour or two. This really is all day.

I don't think you can stop them smoking weed just because you don't like it. The police aren't interested in people smoking weed only dealing and growing it on a large scale. That's the price you pay for living in built up housing.

You’re not wrong, it’s hanging and stinks. Speak to them and if they’re decent it may ease. If not then try their landlord if they rent, illegal drugs on the premises are usually a breach of tenancy or the police if they own. My brother is a response cop and will always arrest someone for possession, even if only a small amount because the law is the law at the end of the day and they are expected to set the standard. They’ll be interested in where they are getting it from and feed info into local intelligence so always worth letting someone know.

It reeks. We always laugh at the ones walking through town at 9am sucking the life out of a joint. Tragic sad acts.

Tell them to buy the gummies instead. It would be better for them as doesn't involve smoking. How anyone uses the medicinal line when smoking it is beyond me.

I'm sure we would all love to live in a 4 bed detached in the country with an acre of garden so we never have to see our neighbours but we aren't all that fortunate.

I don't get how it can be ALL day, surely they couldn't afford to smoke it for 10 hours much less would they be able to form a sentence.

If it’s that synthetic shit or mixed garbage that youngsters are always smoking, yes. That shit gives me a headache, just like cigarettes.

If they kept it within their space, thats fine but smoke spreads and therefore, its anti-social as its impacting on everyone around them.

Weed is horrible. My next door but one neighbour is outside every two to three hours smoking a joint. Doesn’t matter so much in the winter but in the summer I want to open windows and back door and then my house bloody stinks of it too. Drives me insane that my kids bedrooms stink of his weed. Completely anti social and illegal but it’s treated as if it’s legal now. I constantly smell it when I’m out and about!

It’s not something that would bother me
I’d be more bothered by loud music, kids screaming and smoke and meat smells from bbqs.

I wouldn't have thought that 'medicinal marijuana' would be smoked, rather like methadone isn't injected.

This. I wouldn't want my kids breathing it. YANBU OP, they're adults and can damage their health/bodies as they please, but neighbours shouldn't have to suffer it. The smell is awful too, gives me a headache.
