Potential threat of snipers

Does anyone else always close curtains/blinds before turning on lights in a dark room just in case there's a sniper lurking outside? I'm not a woman who's likely to have a hit on me, but I feel like it's a sensible thing to do nonetheless.

Not for a sniper, that’s silly. It’s so the murderer can’t see inside.

TheTartfulLodger · 02/05/2024 21:57

Depends if I'm naked. There's some things even a sniper can never un-see 🤣

dreamfield · 02/05/2024 21:59

"Sensible" is doing some heavy lifting there.

Chrispackhamspoodle · 02/05/2024 21:59

I don't but now I've read your post I will.I'll put some clothes on too.

Not19foreverpullyourselftogether · 02/05/2024 22:01

Yes, I’ve watched Luther..

Rosestulips · 02/05/2024 22:01

I’d better add snooping snipers to my list of things that make me anxious

Menomeno · 02/05/2024 22:02

raises hand So glad it’s not just me!

JamieJ93 · 02/05/2024 22:02

No but, when I'm driving and somebody pulls up besides me I have an irrational fear I'm gonna be taken out by a drive-by shooting 😬

Runnerinthenight · 02/05/2024 22:02

It's paedo burglars that scare us around here.

EffortlesslyInelegant · 02/05/2024 22:03

Any sniper worth his salt would have night vision anyway so you're completely wasting your time. Well that's if you're being serious about which I have grave doubts.

MeandBobbyMcGoo · 02/05/2024 22:04

Yes. And I say "like sitting ducks" everytime I close the curtains.

Seeline · 02/05/2024 22:06

I never pull my front room curtains 😲

I like watching the snipers...

LuluBlakey1 · 02/05/2024 22:06

No but I lock the garden door at dusk in case of zombies stumbling across the lawn in the dark.

TinkerTiger · 02/05/2024 22:07

Don't be silly.

It's Richard Ramirez risen from the dead that I'm afraid of.

I watch too much true crime docs.

TTPD · 02/05/2024 22:07

A sniper??

If this is a concern, isn't it also a concern every time you leave the house and go into a public area?
Or anytime you are visible through a window in daylight..?

EmpressaurusOfCats · 02/05/2024 22:08

I’d be more concerned about the monsters under the bed or sofa grabbing me as I felt my way across the dark room.

BarrelOfOtters · 02/05/2024 22:09

You should be ok as long as you don’t wear your general de Gaulle hat.

That's really weird, would nt gave occurred to me. I barely draw my curtains other than in winter.

CadyEastman · 02/05/2024 22:12

I was busy worrying about Spider's Willies.

Adds snipers to the list.

Is that the same as watching the detectives ?

StrongasSixpence · 02/05/2024 22:14

I don't draw my downstairs curtains ever as I am surrounded by hedges which deter the murderers. I do try and remember to do the bedroom blind however as it looks over an alleyway and DP always reminds me not to show the neighborhood hoodlums who vape in the alley before school my morning nakeds. Putting my dressing gown on sorts the problem.

Mumofteenandtween · 02/05/2024 22:15

Personally I’m more worried about the paparazzi that might take photos of me.

They regularly photograph 40 something very dull women who are not all in the public eye right?

CornishPorsche · 02/05/2024 22:16

Not snipers, but scary things....

It all began with The Gremlins when I was very small child.

brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr · 02/05/2024 22:16

I never keep my head still. That one weird trick that snipers HATE.
