Bit of a lame expression but I’m looking to buy new clothes that are practical for school run, park etc but easy to throw on together (ie not buying in outfits) and not too slobby/hideous. Just interested to see what everyone else wears, at 32 I’m too old for teen fashion but not ready for Next/Boden yet 😂

I feel you I have no idea what to wear so tips are welcome

SuffolkUnicorn · 05/04/2024 18:31

Run and fly dress or run and fly pinafore with coloured tights and converse with a Boden raincoat which is multicoloured or a 50s dress and irregular choice

SuffolkUnicorn · 05/04/2024 18:32

Sometimes wear a Barbour with my pinafore

Mumaway · 05/04/2024 18:33

Decent jeans in dark denim with some stretch, jumper (cashmere in the sale ideally), decent coat, not too long

Blessedbethefruitz · 05/04/2024 18:34
  1. I have the magic butter leggings in many colours from amazon, and a twist front Jersey dress in 6 different colours, rocket dog pumps in 3 colours. I've gone full efficiency the last few months!

Gym clothes because I'm on the way to the gym or
Work clothes on an office day. Boring. Sorry!

Hermione101 · 05/04/2024 18:37

Lululemon and a baseball cap.

PeloMom · 05/04/2024 18:39

Leggings and shirt/ jumper. After particularly rough nights sunglasses too

GotMooMilk · 05/04/2024 18:41

Jeans, jumper, sunglasses. Usually oversize knit jumper and white trainers. In summer t shirt tucked into high waist jeans and trainers/sandals. I’m 33 and love M&S these days- in my mum era.

Hiker50 · 05/04/2024 18:42

jeans and trainers or chunky boots.
Leggings and trainers.
Oversized t-shirt or sweatshirt.
For work - fancy pants clothes.

I really like Suzy D Ultimate Joggers. I've got loads of different colours and they are really versatile. I have bought a few on Vinted for much less than retail. For brands I like Lucy Dodwell, Eleven Loves, Disko Kids. Again, I source much cheaper bargains on Vinted.

ThreePointOneFourOneFiveNine · 05/04/2024 18:53

Jeggings and a tunic top to hide my tummy. I'm nearing 50 and would be happy with Boden and next though 😳

Ooh please can you link the magic butter leggings?

NameChangeHereandThere · 05/04/2024 20:18

Black jumpsuit and a colourful kimono with black dolly shoes/converse al la Angel Strawbridge

ellecf21 · 05/04/2024 20:21

I've got a couple of Anine Bing oversized jumpers that I basically live in. They aren't cheap cheap but the cost per wear is wild. Pair them with a nice soft pair of leggings or jeans depending on what's clean 🤣

Stephy1886 · 05/04/2024 20:23

Why do so many wear leggings with socks pulled up & a cold water swimming jacket thing?

Sodypop · 05/04/2024 20:27

tapered cords or wide leg cords. Vans high tops, t shirt or l/sleeve. Quilted jacket thing from sezanne.

MummaMummaJumma · 05/04/2024 20:28

I’m old school. I tuck my nightie into my trousers and throw on a jacket, then off we go.

I do get ready for work after the school run btw.

I love an anonymous forum, the school mums would JUDGE me if they knew!! 🤣

museumum · 05/04/2024 20:28

I’m clearly not your target audience as I’ve worn Jext as a teen, in my 20s, 30s and 40s. Not sure what’s supposed to be old about it.

Sobersally · 05/04/2024 20:29

I’ve been wearing cargo type trousers with a body suit type long sleeve top and trainers/crocs a lot

Loveliesbhhfd · 05/04/2024 20:31

Whatever is clean and fits...must make self care more of a priority but at the moment I'm just fire fighting...so it's a miracle that I get dressed/brush teeth/brush hair at all!

Had to Google Cold Water Swimming jacket. I think I know the look you are talking about now!

But if you were an actual cold water swimmer you would have to have one for the school run and one for training!!

ScabbyHorse · 05/04/2024 20:32

Wide jeans long sleeve tops and trainers

Favouritefruits · 05/04/2024 20:33

Black ponte leggings from next in the winter with a jumper and in the autumn and spring Boden leggings with an oversized top. Summer usually wear a simple T-shirt dress I’ve got a few Joules ones!

Yeah. I didn't realise Next was for old people as it was cool when I was a teenager (admittedly I am in my mid 40s)
