Tony’s chocolonely egg is not an egg

Aibu to feel ripped off. Square box makes you think you have a normal egg. Actually you have a flat egg. An ellipse. A squished egg. All the pictures are face on so you don’t get to see the profile from the side, which would show it’s not a proper egg.

Kids asked why they didn’t get proper eggs.

Oh bugger. Bought DP one, he gets back home tonight and was hoping to help him eat it.

That’s not flat it’s just not the traditional shape , I can’t see the issue .

It was featured on The One Show on BBC1 a few days ago, IIRC. I think the people they chose to interview were very disappointed.

Agree it’s not a proper egg shape, but that’s the least of the problem - their chocolate is rank.

It’s really not very nice chocolate. Rather unpleasant aftertaste imho.

I haven’t forgiven them for the advent calendar a while back were they had one empty window with a preachy comment…

The kids Freddo egg was flattened too. I read that it's gone from 122g to 96g.

Well you bash it up before you eat it so can't get bothered about the shape. But if my kids had moaned after getting perfectly good chocolate for Easter they would have been told to stop being ungrateful.

Tonys is waaay overrated. Far better chocolate to be had out there.

@Nudgethatjudge - I like your style. I've eaten the egg I got for my husband while he's been out golfing. there's not a scap of evidence it ever existed.

I bought the Tonys mini eggs and they were nice, DH doesn't like it much but he always manages to eat that large bit in the bar that I can't bite very well, he probably crams it in all at once

Im not getting the problem, it’s still a bit hollow egg shape, it’s just not perfectly round. It makes no difference- like all Easter eggs the weight is on the box, if you expect it to be different then that’s on you.

the orange tonys bar (or Easter egg) with the salted caramel is amazing. I’ve never been fussed by their other flavours.
