Posting here for traffic lol.

just curious how long after you had your baby did your bump go down? How long was it until you were back into your pre pregnancy clothes? Did you use those belly wraps? was your stomach the same as pre pregnancy or worse or better? I’m expecting my first baby next month and I’ve not put much weight on but I’m hoping to get back into my size 8 clothes by summer and to feel good lol. I’ve bought those belly wraps to use to help with healing and I’m praying the weather is decent and my son loves the pram so I can take him on plenty of walks in the fresh air

Err about three years… 🙈

Nothingbuttheglory · 23/02/2024 21:58

4 years and counting

YourGreatLemonShark · 23/02/2024 22:00

I put on almost 2.5 stone in pregnancy. DD weighed 5lb when born 😳. Took me 3 months to lost the 2.5 stone baby weight. Was a stone lighter than pre pregnancy within 6 months thanks to breast feeding. Have never lost weight ao easily or quickly in my life!

Bloomingdaffs · 23/02/2024 22:01

It didn't.

Janetime · 23/02/2024 22:02

Very quickly, I put on about 4 stone, the belly went down fast and I was in pre pregnancy clothes within about 10 weeks. I also had a c section

StickNMove · 23/02/2024 22:02

i still looked pregnant for about 6 months after each baby, but I had c-sections.

Mybusyday · 23/02/2024 22:02

7 weeks after giving birth I was wearing the same pair of skinny jeans I wore on my first date with the baby's Dad. I am a size 8-10 and put on exactly 2 stone during pregnancy which I lost within 2 months. My stomach is the same now although a little bit softer. I really think breast feeding helped. Congratulation btw

NeedToChangeName · 23/02/2024 22:03

I was back to pre- pregnancy clothes in a couple of weeks, but we're all different

Cheeesus · 23/02/2024 22:03

A few weeks to be almost back to normal but a few months to be totally back. But it was slightly wrinkled even then.

Furrydogmum · 23/02/2024 22:03

22 years in June - my bump is bigger than ever.. 🙄

That’s amazing that it didn’t take you long to lose the baby weight. I hope breastfeeding has that affect on my body too lol. Although I’m planning on conbo feeding. Did you get on many walks?

I was back in normal clothes within 6 weeks, no idea what i put on in weight, baby was 5.5 and 6 weeks early.

PurBal · 23/02/2024 22:04

Baby number 2 is 8mo and I’m 3 stone heavier than before my first. I put on weight whilst breastfeeding. I’m very active but not into the gym.

SnapdragonToadflax · 23/02/2024 22:04

About four months, but I put it back on in the second half of my maternity leave when he started teething and I ate chocolate to get me through the tiredness and boredom.

Nejnej · 23/02/2024 22:05

Size 8 pre pregnancy, gained about 20kg by delivery, dropped quickly to about 5kg above my usual weight within a few months.

Could wear most of my usual clothes by 3/4 months, just nothing particularly form fitting or my very skinny jeans. Back in those now just over a year pp.

Everyone is different though!

That’s brill that you were able to get back to pre pregnancy size so fast. I’ve heard it’s much harder to get back into shape after a c section

Walking and breastfeeding, the weight falls off.

IggOrEgg · 23/02/2024 22:06

I was so so sick while pregnant and ended up weighing somewhat less at 40 weeks than I did just before falling pregnant… and I wasn’t big then! So I was back in my pre pregnancy clothes within a couple of weeks, three max, but I think really my stomach took about 8-9 months to look ‘normal’ again.

AdoraBell · 23/02/2024 22:06

Mine, shockingly, disappeared within a week. And I was huge with twins. After 23 years I still don’t understand it.

My abdominal muscles were shot to jelly state. I was in Latin America and my doctor wrapped a sheet tightly around my abdomen to ease the pain after my emergency C-section. She said the my uterus was contracting to return to its normal size. No idea if that helped but it did help with the pain.

meganorks · 23/02/2024 22:07

Breast feeding is your friend here. I didn't put on loads when pregnant and didn't actively do anything to lose weight but I lost it all and more just from breastfeeding. I was maybe walking more but not for the first 3 or 4 months at least. After my second when I was breastfeeding and getting out and about loads with a very active toddler, I was the skinnest I had been since I was a teenager!

Strawberrycheesecake7 · 23/02/2024 22:07

A couple of weeks. I was breastfeeding which helps it go back down. I was also back at my pre pregnancy weight straight away after giving birth which isn’t normal. I had gestational diabetes while I was pregnant and had to be on a really restrictive diet so I think that stopped me from gaining any weight.

It makes no difference, why would it, method of delivery makes no difference to your weight management,

GN637 · 23/02/2024 22:09

I wore my normal clothes the day after giving birth. I gained a stone with each baby and lost all that with baby, placenta and water so was back to pre-pregnancy weight the day after. My stomach was like a deflated ball of dough for a couple of days but soon back to normal. I've never had a flat stomach though, even as a young teen. My uterus was back down and not palpable after a few days each time due to all 3 feeding what felt like continuously. I remember the shocked midwife's face when she felt my abdomen. My milk came in really quickly too and surprised them. I have a weird body I guess. The deflated dough effect is quite something!

Mine was done by summer but I didn't drink much at all postpartum for months and I had gd so barely ate sugar in pregnancy

Strictlymad · 23/02/2024 22:14

First baby, I gained 8lbs, baby was 6lbs. Back in pre pregnancy clothes in 5 days, half a stone under pre pregnancy weight within a month thanks to breastfeeding.
second baby, gained about 8lbs again, baby was 4.5 lbs, emergency sections, lost a tonne of weight quickly due to being ill myself and us both in hospital for 3 weeks- but….. baby ‘pouch’ of skin took a lot longer to go down, maybe 2 months, which I put down to it being the second baby and a section
