Also, what do you eat that a lot of people thinks odd?
So, I eat everything separately, no mixing of food on my fork unlike my husband who likes a bit of this and a bit of that... I also eat things in order that makes my husband 🥴
However, one thing that really annoys him is when I make the stuffing. I love eating the dried stuff straight from the packet, but even more so I love it when I've poured the boiling water over it, mixed it and put butter/marg over it. I eat it straight away before putting it in the oven. It drives my husband bonkers as I've filled myself on the stuffing before dinner and there's less for everyone else... I can't help it, it's just so much tastier that way!!!

I can eat the same thing for everyday without getting bored of it.

So a huge pot of chicken and rice can be eaten for lunch and dinner for days.

CinnamonTree · 11/02/2024 19:47

Artichoke heart and garlic mayo toasted sandwich for breakfast. So so so good. I love strong tastes in the morning. In France last summer it was toasted bread with camembert and figs. Bloody delicious. My fiancé thinks I'm a bit odd.

BobbyBiscuits · 11/02/2024 19:49

Haha, I love these type threads! I did try eating the stuffing mix dry once when I was really hungry, haha. I just love it being crispy so much more.

I have a thing about licking crisps. Except salted ones, I always lick/suck the flavour out before then chewing it. Drives my fella mad. I find him crunching the crisps really loudly and eating them really quickly much more disturbing, haha!

I also LOVE eating cheese just before bed. I'm not sure why they say it's meant to be bad or something. I always feel like I need it just before sleeping.

BobbyBiscuits · 11/02/2024 19:53

@CinnamonTree The cheese and figs is gorgeous! Such a good combo. I also do quite like artichoke heart as part of a picky bits dinner : )

peakygold · 11/02/2024 19:53

I think warm fresh bread smells like bleach. I just can't stomach it. I love cold toast; hotel toast is the best. Butter just sits there in a lovely thick layer.

Jemimapinotduck · 11/02/2024 20:01

@peakygold 🤯🤯🤯😱😱😱😱 fresh bread... Bleach... Cold toast... My poor little brain just can't comprehend such things!!!!

Cold, dry, burnt toast - love it.

Also, I love beetroot but cannot put it on a plate with other foods due to the juice-bleed.

Scrambled egg ‘soup’ - undercooked, vigorously whisked scrambled eggs.

Froggy99 · 11/02/2024 20:08

I love stuffing before it’s been put in the oven and green beans from a tin before they’ve been cooked 🤣

ThirtyThrillionThreeTrees · 11/02/2024 20:17

Apparently dunking chocolate chip cookies into a glass of ice cold milk is both odd and disgusting. I love it.

But doing the same with a cup of tea is completely acceptable!

Coffeesnob11 · 11/02/2024 20:20

Love instant custard powder as powder the same with stuffing.
Love raw instant noodles
When I was little my best friend and I always ate raw chips and raw bacon fat (we never seem to come to any harm)
I love beans cold.
I love made up custard cold.
I love cheap white bread and butter with cornflakes as the filling
I love crab sticks dipped in vinegar and black pepper.
I really don't like my pasta mixed with anything or touching the sauce.
I love cheese and ham in my pancakes which i only learned this week is controversial judging by the faces of some friends.
I have always had weird food rules.

PurpleNebula84 · 11/02/2024 20:22

A slice of bread with ketchup on - no butter - just bread and ketchup 🙈🙈

whathappenedno · 11/02/2024 20:23

I can't eat sliced bread and will only eat fresh bread on the day I buy it after that I toast it
I can't eat chicken breast portions but eat whole chicken, legs or wings
I like crisp sandwiches with ketchup
Fish fingers vinegar and pasta

LindorDoubleChoc · 11/02/2024 20:28

I hate plain yogurt and I hate cucumber. But I love tzatziki.

I think every savoury food on toast is enhanced with a bit of marmite.

I much prefer cold pasta pesto to hot pasta pesto. And it needs to be the fresh pesto, not in a jar.

Any hot food I eat has to be really hot, same as my coffee and tea. My microwave gets used a lot for re-heating purposes. Except quiche, quiche is better warm rather than cold or hot.

Half a teaspoon of sugar in my coffee is not enough but 1 tsp is too much. I need 3/4s.

I love roasted tomatoes and sundried tomatoes but can't eat fresh raw tomatoes.

bibblebobbles · 11/02/2024 20:34

@LindorDoubleChoc

Snap on the hot drinks! I describe my tea and coffee as 'throat cancer causing hot' which worries my husband but I've accepted my fate

DimplesToadfoot · 11/02/2024 20:35

I always have a packet of stuffing in the cupboard ready for a quick sandwich, poor hot water over the stuffing mix, stir and spread it while warm on buttered bread. If you really want to push the boat out add a slice of chicken or pork or whatever takes your fancy 😀

Cold toast is the only way. Why anyone wants their butter to melt on the toast and go soggy is beyond me.

tulippa · 11/02/2024 20:43

I may have posted this before but I love a heaped teaspoon of crunchy peanut butter eaten like a lollipop while munching on twiglets at the same time. Always done alone while standing in the kitchen. 😋

GingerLiberalFeminist · 11/02/2024 20:45

I'll caveat this by saying I'm very probably ND, and I:

  • Cut up all my food on the plate before eating it
  • Hate sauce and food in sauce (but illogically eat soup and stew, it's a consistency thing)
  • Eat the same meals over and over, my DH cooks in the evening but if he didn't I would just eat salmon, green beans and broccoli
  • Eat many, many vegetables raw - including Brussel sprouts, cabbage, mushrooms and on occasion potatoes
  • Eat red peppers like apples

Now I have an LO, I've realised my disregulated eating can be problematic and I try to give her a balanced diet with a range of foods and textures even if I wouldn't eat them myself!

ChildrenOfTheQuorn · 11/02/2024 20:50

I eat food separately and in order of least favourite to favourite. Every meal. And it can't touch. This includes sweets like Opal Fruits, mixed nuts and chocolate like M&Ms.

I like marmite with beans, avocado or fried or scrambled egg on toast.

I like to take a little nibble of a stock cube.

I think you've just given me ideas!! Grin

Otherwise my main one is I'll eat anything for breakfast that most people find odd. My current default breakfast is spaghetti bolognese - I probably have that 5-6 days a week.

auspreg · 11/02/2024 20:56

Rice Krispies with Milk, add in a sliced up banana, and eaten together with a lovely warm buttery slice of toast 😍😍 it's my go to comfort food.

Currently pregnant, so more of a craving/aversion at the moment, but- asked my DH to get me Nesquik from the shop. He came home with coco pops (there was no Nesquik, bless him he tried). I really wanted Nesquik but the thoughts of coco pops 🤮🤮😂

Sparklfairy · 11/02/2024 20:58

I add hot sauce to everything. Luckily I don't eat things like cereal (!)

I have capsicum extract which I dilute into hot sauce bottles to make them extra spicy. Or just use it straight in things like scrambled eggs or soup.

The chilli high is not a myth, every meal is an adrenaline rush Confused

also have ADHD so have a tendency to tale things to the extreme

Newname000 · 11/02/2024 20:59

Ready salted crisps with vinegar, especially the soggy puddle that forms in the bottom of the bag.

Kettlebellend · 11/02/2024 21:01

I am a stock cube nibbler, especially an oxo and also love the pre cooked stuffing
I love the roast chicken skin
I used to eat the cases from a cupcake until early adulthood and as a child ate raw spaghetti

Kettlebellend · 11/02/2024 21:02

Surely everyone eats their most favourite part of the meal last!!
