Also, what do you eat that a lot of people thinks odd?
So, I eat everything separately, no mixing of food on my fork unlike my husband who likes a bit of this and a bit of that... I also eat things in order that makes my husband 🥴
However, one thing that really annoys him is when I make the stuffing. I love eating the dried stuff straight from the packet, but even more so I love it when I've poured the boiling water over it, mixed it and put butter/marg over it. I eat it straight away before putting it in the oven. It drives my husband bonkers as I've filled myself on the stuffing before dinner and there's less for everyone else... I can't help it, it's just so much tastier that way!!!

Ham sandwich with vinegar in it. Love it!

Dip my buttered toast into my coffee, but never tea.

When I have a cheese scone I cut in half and butter the bottom half as normal , but for the top half I butter the top of the scone ie the outer edge,

I’m an omnivore. I have no food allergies or intolerances. I will eat pretty much everything, and enjoy it. No fad diets for me. My list of dislikes is tiny ; okra, oysters and that’s about it. I also prefer not to eat cheap, low quality processed meat products (eg Greggs sausage rolls) for health reasons.

This seems to make me pretty unusual these days.

Sometimes I’ll microwave a piece of bread for about 20-30 seconds then add a chunk of butter and fold it over so it melts. Then stuff it in my mouth.

I'm going to have to do this now!

I buy a bowl of bran flakes with raisins and bananas etc

Pour it all into a bowl, eat the fruit pieces and return the bran flakes to the box

Eat the bran flakes alone

It is WEIRD

Yes

Well I shall hunt some down then
Not to replace an actual cheese sauce, obviously, but in the interests of science/curiosity.

Feed back please.... in the interest of research

I used to eat uncooked spaghetti as a snack when a teenager. Only a couple of pieces at a time mind, I'm not mad. Satisfyingly crunchy. This thread has made me think I might start again.

I cut the crusts off both my bacon and fishfinger sandwiches, DP thinks I am ridiculous, but for me it means I like every bite and don't have some sorry bites round the edge that I have to endure to get to the good bits. Every bite is good.

Edited

If I have a sandwich I eat the crusts first and then eat the bit with the filling in, but can only eat the crusts if the bread is fairly fresh, any dryness makes me boak

Bolognese (hot) sandwiches on buttered white sliced bread.

tinned Bolognese in a toastie is chefs kiss! (made with a toastie maker so it seals it properly) have never tried it with proper bolognese but I imagine just as nice

theDudesmummy · 12/02/2024 08:23

Not me but DS. He gets toast for breakfast (autistic and won't have anything else). One slice with peanut butter, one with Nutella.

Only on school days he only eats one half of each one and the rest has to wait till he gets home from school, when he eats it, stone cold and hard (we put a cloth over it until he gets home). I have tried suggesting he has some new fresh toast when he gets home. No way. It has to be the cold one from the morning!

I do the exact same with stuffing too

I totally get the eating of the stuffing mix... many years ago when I was younger and ate a lot of Pot Noodles I used to love the Pot Noodle dust that lays at the top of the pot before you add the water in! 🙈 I eat things in a particular order too, salad/veg first the rest of the meal after.

fuckssaaaaake · 12/02/2024 09:18

I put cold left over chilli con Carne in bread in the middle of the night once when I woke starving, I felt like I solved all of the worlds problems in the first bits

fuckssaaaaake · 12/02/2024 09:18

#bite

Jemimapinotduck · 12/02/2024 18:24

White buttered bread dipped in gravy... Not too bothered whether it's still hot or not

In France when I was 20 I ate a whole camenbert every day, I insisted it wasn't kept in the fridge so it was nice and ",ripe" ( eventually it was my stools that were ripe, not nice) this was a 2 week holiday so lots of camenbert

Mumof2NDers · 12/02/2024 19:40

Mash get smash dry straight from the packet.
Let toast go cold before putting the butter on.
Salt butties. Tastes like a chicken butty! I don’t eat meat anymore so this is my substitute.
Mashed potatoes with mint sauce mixed in.
Frozen chips (eaten still frozen)

salamithumbs · 12/02/2024 19:52

When I'm eating something like Mars bar or a twix, I eat the chocolate off the sides, the caramel off the top and then throw the biscuit or nougat part away 😬 I know it must look manky so I never do it in front of people! I always think I should just buy a caramel but it doesn't taste as nice somehow
I also love dipping doritos into tomato pasta sauce and can get through a whole jar in one sitting

salamithumbs · 12/02/2024 19:57

Or in desperate circumstances where there's no doritos, pouring pasta sauce into a bag of popcorn and mixing it together

AffIt · 12/02/2024 19:57

I don't particularly like hot or cold food and I prefer that it doesn't touch.

My ideal meal is a kind of deconstructed salad Nicoise: tinned tuna, tinned green beans and a hard boiled egg, eaten directly from the tin/shell, standing up in the kitchen.

If I'm feeling very fancy, I'll decant a bit of salad dressing into a glass ramekin to dip the egg into.

It will also take me about an hour to eat, because I'll take a few mouthfuls then go and do something else.

Booksandwine80 · 12/02/2024 20:01

Cold mushy peas straight out of the tin 😳

Hummusandstuff · 12/02/2024 20:07

OK. Hold tight.
Make a big pan of porridge. Made with milk and a bit of salt. Let it go cold. Eat in slices, cold. Sprinkled with more salt and melted butter
DEE licious.
craving cold congealed porridge now. I eat it with my hands.

IloveAslan · 12/02/2024 20:08

Pasta and ice cream (mixed together)

Billydessert · 12/02/2024 20:08

I like to eat cooked food that's cooled to room temperature. Cold mashed potato and gravy is a favourite.
I prefer to eat chocolate in secret.

RaraRachael · 12/02/2024 20:13

If I'm using condensed milk in a recipe, I leave about a cm in the bottom of the tin and eat it. I have been known to buy a tin just to eat, although I can only manage half the tin at a time.

As a child I used to eat custard powder straight out of the packet even though it kind of set my teeth on edge. Same with Horlicks powder.

themusingsofaninsomniac · 12/02/2024 20:16

Shouldn't have read this while eating 🤣🤣

Glittering1 · 12/02/2024 20:18

I love raw white pudding.
Coleslaw with mashed potatoes.
