To think this is weird?

DH ate his dinner in another room on his own then went to bed at 5:30 without saying anything! He’s been in bed ever since. So out of character, been together over 15 years and he’s never done this before. I went up to see if he was ok and he said he’d thrown up immediately after eating dinner. Wouldn’t say anything else, I’ve not heard anything from him since! How weird

He's unwell. Why is that weird?

PurplePansy05 · 26/01/2024 21:43

You need MN to tell you it's weird?

Go up and ask him what he needs, offer water, to check his temp and talk to him. Could be food poisoning, a virus or something more sinister, we won't diagnose him online.

pasteloblong · 26/01/2024 21:43

So he's unwell?

the80sweregreat · 26/01/2024 21:43

Not weird , he clearly isn't very well as his been sick.
I'd just leave him with some water and let him sleep.

Anewuser · 26/01/2024 21:43

Not weird

He has a bug.

NotMarriedToAHouse · 26/01/2024 21:44

Sounds like he's just sick. It happens. It's a bit strange he didn't just tell you.

DinaofCloud9 · 26/01/2024 21:45

Maybe he's not thinking clearly as he's unwell. It's not that weird is it?

Yougetmoreofwhatyoufocuson · 26/01/2024 21:47

Its weird that he didn’t manage to use any words to communicate with you.

Sux2buthen · 26/01/2024 21:47

On paper it seems like it makes sense but I would find it odd to have not a word spoken and then just that. Something must seem off to you if you felt the need to post. Could be nothing, hopefully it passes quickly
Hope alls ok

sparklefart · 26/01/2024 21:48

She's concerned about her husband and is asking for reassurance but she gets eye rolls instead. Yuck.

OP he's clearly acting out of character, can you take his temp and just keep an eye on him? You know someone well after 15 years to know when it's out the normal. Hope he's better soon!

Makeitmakesensetoday · 26/01/2024 21:50

Depressed?

MuckyEyebrows · 26/01/2024 21:51

It is really weird - he’s the kind of person that needs everyone to know he’s ill - in other words he’ll normally bang on about it for hours before making a song and dance about needing an early night.

Today he never said a word. Came home from work fine, went on the computer, opened a beer … weirdness started when he ate his dinner at the computer, he never does that. Then I realised he’d been a while so I went to see what he was doing and he wasn’t there, his dinner had been eaten but he’d just gone to bed without saying a word!!? Also I don’t believe he was sick, I’d have heard him.

Check he isn’t having any chest pains or breathing difficulties.

DinaofCloud9 · 26/01/2024 21:52

So you think he's lying about being ill?

MuckyEyebrows · 26/01/2024 21:52

Makeitmakesensetoday · 26/01/2024 21:50

Depressed?

He was absolutely fine up until 5:30ish

Sick bug then
Why do you think it's weird? Have none of you ever been ill before?

MuckyEyebrows · 26/01/2024 21:53

DinaofCloud9 · 26/01/2024 21:52

So you think he's lying about being ill?

I wouldn’t say lying as such but it seems odd to me, I would have heard him being sick - he has no temperature either, ate all his dinner and drank a beer all fine. No mention of feeling ill until after he’d gone to bed.

Niallig32839 · 26/01/2024 21:55

It is strange and either he is ill or something else is on his mind. Best solution maybe to leave him to it and ask him in the morning how he is and see what he says.

Chichimcgee · 26/01/2024 21:55

Can you check the computer? Maybe he’s had a bad email or something and doesn’t want to tell you

pikkumyy77 · 26/01/2024 21:55

Why can’t you ask him? Or why can’t you believe him?

She doesn’t sound remotely concerned and hasn’t asked for reassurances. She has just said it is weird, when it really isn’t that weird.

DinaofCloud9 · 26/01/2024 21:58

Maybe he's worried about something and wants time alone.

Littletinytarzanswingingfromanosehair · 26/01/2024 22:00

Sounds like he could be worried or anxious. All lot of people go withdrawn or need to lie down when in anxious mode. I shut myself away when I feel I need time to think. Just keep an eye on him. Hope he's ok.

agree with this

ArnieLinson · 26/01/2024 22:05

What di you think the issue is? My dh went to bed early yesterday. Abnormally for him. He was just exhausted. Not weird.
