Shit, I’ve just bought men’s shoes

Bought them online from a well-known department store with a very nice discount in the January sale. They’re Kurt Geiger, a brand I like, and I wanted them for work- always looking for a smart flat.

They arrived today and I tried them on. A little roomy but not bad.

Jusy tidying away and spotted they’re men’s shoes!
No wonder they were cheap- can’t imagine much demand for men’s size 6.

Pic is of the ad on the website. I obviously didn’t look too closely 👀

So keep (YANBU) or return (YABU)?

Do you like them? Do they fit? The keep them.

It really doesn't matter who they're meant to be for.

I wear some men's clothes. Not for political or identity reasons but because I like them, they fit and they're often better quality.

TrentCrimmOfTheIndependent · 05/01/2024 23:10

Keep them if they fit! They look good.

Buffypaws · 05/01/2024 23:10

Nothing especially manly about them. I’d keep them

takealettermsjones · 05/01/2024 23:10

Do you like the shoes? Do they fit?

If so, why would it matter that they're men's?

CopperLion · 05/01/2024 23:10

Don’t see what the issue is if you like them. Your feet won’t actually notice.

tortoiseshellcats · 05/01/2024 23:10

If they fit you and you like them then why on earth wouldn't you keep them??? I know several women who wear men's shoes because they fit better

ICouldEat · 05/01/2024 23:11

They really don’t look like men’s shoes so, if you like them, just wear them.

HalebiHabibti · 05/01/2024 23:11

I wear mens trainers to run in. So far no one has come after me demanding my woman badge....

RobertaFirmino · 05/01/2024 23:11

OMG, send them straight back before you end up growing a cock!

C0untDucku1a · 05/01/2024 23:12

Like everyone else, i cannot work out your issue.

ButWhatAboutTheBees · 05/01/2024 23:12

Is this a joke?
You like them
They don't actually matter who they're for
I know women who buy mens because they have larger feet

samestyle · 05/01/2024 23:13

😂 tbf there're not very manly so I'd keep them

Falkenburg · 05/01/2024 23:13

Very Diane Keaton. Keep them if that's the look you're going for .

And they have pockets! And often a better choice of dark colours.

WeekWeekWeek · 05/01/2024 23:14

Just to add, they’re exceptionally comfortable.

Is this why men rule the world- comfort?

FridayButterfly · 05/01/2024 23:15

I have smallish feet. I occasionally buy from the kids’ section. It doesn’t turn me into someone who likes skipping and playing the recorder badly.

ThinWomansBrain · 05/01/2024 23:15

they might even be - shock horror - foot shaped🤔

AdoraBell · 05/01/2024 23:15

If they are comfortable then keep them.

JudgeJ · 05/01/2024 23:17

I often buy men's jumpers because they tend to be longer and I can't stand to be tugging a woman's size down. Haven't noticed an appendage yet!

hogmanayhoolie · 05/01/2024 23:19

Now I know where to look for sale bargains. Grin

CointreauVersial · 05/01/2024 23:19

I don't understand your problem. I have very wide size 7 feet, and often end up with men's trainers. Who cares? They don't have a huge arrow pointing at them, saying "look, she's wearing MEN'S shoes!"

WeekWeekWeek · 05/01/2024 23:20

Also- I’m 5’ 11” and quite a heavy build. I just don’t want to look like a dude with long hair.

I think I’m harking back to secondary school in the 90s when a girl who was the same height as me had a size ten foot and had to wear men’s shoes- like, proper Clarks lace-up brogues with shiny toes. These were the days before internet made things much more accessible.

Christ, they’re comfortable.

I bought some men's trainers by mistake once. Was delighted with the extra room for toes.

Hope you enjoy them.

TheDefiant · 05/01/2024 23:21

I wear men's shoes, men's socks, men's jumpers and jackets. They all fit better and wear better.

If they fit you they aren't men's shoes...they are your shoes!

Helendegenerate · 05/01/2024 23:28

I'm another one who buys men's jumpers. I've yet to be mistaken for a bloke. 😊
