Shit, I’ve just bought men’s shoes

Bought them online from a well-known department store with a very nice discount in the January sale. They’re Kurt Geiger, a brand I like, and I wanted them for work- always looking for a smart flat.

They arrived today and I tried them on. A little roomy but not bad.

Jusy tidying away and spotted they’re men’s shoes!
No wonder they were cheap- can’t imagine much demand for men’s size 6.

Pic is of the ad on the website. I obviously didn’t look too closely 👀

So keep (YANBU) or return (YABU)?

Been buying men's razors and deodorant since my teens because they're so much better.

I have wide feet and size 6. I've never thought about men's shoees before but now I'm tempted! I wear chunky style manly shoes anyway but always hard to find a pair that's comfy in women's. Thanks op 😊

I always buy men's trainers and wellies as they are a better fit for my frog's feet, much wider and sensible toe box. If they look good, keep them.

In some styles the difference between men and women's is 7up men, 6 down women. Obviously not true for heels etc but for lots of trainers, ambiguous flats, sports shoes, walking shoes it rings true

They're lovely. But if you'd not said they were men's I'd never have known.

I bought a man's raincoat from M&S (just a plain navy one. And it was hanging in the women's section). Didn't notice for about 6 months as I just shoved it in the wardrobe.

It fits fine but it is very similar to FIL, BIL and DP's raincoat. Often they end up picking up mine before they get to their own 😂

And for what it's worth, I buy mens clothes all the time - especially t-shirts. I have a long body a want a t-shirt to cover me. Plus they come with "proper" sleeves, and not those little cap sleeves that just bunch in your armpits!

Capped sleeves flatter no body. In both senses of the word. I can't remember the last time I bought a women's T-shirt or polo shirt. Men's razors and deodorant too, and virtually all my knitwear.

I don’t see the problem? Who cares if they’re blokes’?

molly1995 · 06/01/2024 13:57

Lol at the way you said "can't imagine there's much demand for a man's size 6" 😂 keep them if you like them, nothing wrong with them at all :)

I live in mens t-shirts and jumpers. The small sizes are always in the sale as well. I have a lovely men's jacket I got in XS in the sales that I love, it was such a bargain.
