And if you have the heating on low overnight and if so what setting?

OP posts:
usernother · 03/01/2024 22:14

As cold as possible. I sleep with the window open and I have a 4.5 tog duvet. I like to be cold in bed. I sleep naked and no heating on overnight obviously.

Jellykat · 03/01/2024 22:14

I dont have any heating upstairs, so none in my bedroom.

anothernamechangeagainsndagain · 03/01/2024 22:17

No heating on but newish house so retains heat, guessing about 17

Mrsgreen100 · 03/01/2024 22:19

No heating in my bedroom, boiler broke two years ago and can’t afford to replace it
but lots of duvets and an electric heat pad
kinda like it now
but do have log fire down stairs

Heating's off overnight, and I'd guess it gets down to about 8-10C. We both like it cold, as does our Akita (for obvious reasons). Our Chihuahua nests under a pillow on our bed, and the Romanian rescue lived the first three months of his life in a forest, so he's just grateful it's not snowing on him.

Aaaaaw your dogs ❤️

KnittedCardi · 03/01/2024 22:51

No idea. Heating goes off at 9.30pm, back on at 7.30am. Never had heating on at night, as we like rooms to be cold. We keep windows on the latch too (when it is not blowing a 60 gale that is!).

Cel77 · 03/01/2024 23:32
  1. We wear pyjamas and duvets plus a warm layer for the kids on top. I get quite hot at night so that's the perfect temperature for us all.
MintJulia · 03/01/2024 23:37

Heating is off overnight, and I guess it drops to about 10 degrees,

Heating on at 6.30am when I get up.

DappledThings · 03/01/2024 23:37

Nest says it's 17 in the house right now. Bedroom must be cooler than downstairs where the thermostat is as window been open.

Feels roasting in here. I want it to be cold so I can get cosy under my blanket I made but it's just too hot. Hope we get some proper winter soon.

RampantIvy · 03/01/2024 23:38

We don't have the heating on overnight.

FluffActually · 03/01/2024 23:41

Bloody hell, some spartans here. Heating set to come on if it drops below 16, which rarely happens. Our compromise is separate duvets: mine is 14 tog, DH's 9 tog but otherwise pretty similar in our preferences. Light level and appropriate waking time however.....

MrsSkylerWhite · 03/01/2024 23:41

Around 14.

TempleOfBloom · 03/01/2024 23:53

Luckily I don’t want or need the heating on overnight because I simply couldn’t afford it. How much are people paying pcm during the winter months if you have the heating on overnight?

mrsclaus1984 · 03/01/2024 23:56

It has to be absolutely freezing for me to ever put the heating on in our main bedroom (thankfully, it has a separate thermostat from the rest of the house). Can’t stand being hot overnight.

Tinkerbyebye · 04/01/2024 00:00

No idea but it’s cool rad is not on. Test of house at the moment is 17. That’s warm enough for me normally. If the weather gets colder it will go up but not the bedroom. I also sleep with the window open all year

MadWifeInTheAttic · 04/01/2024 00:02

Cold. I can't stand waking up in heated air... the dehydration!

theoldrout01876 · 04/01/2024 00:10

I dont have the heat on in my bedroom. I have the windows open and a window fan in 1 of them. It has been between 4 and 7 up to this point but its been relatively mild so far. I will close one of the windows when we hit the negative double digits. I need to sleep in the cold.

JustGotToKeepOnKeepingOn · 04/01/2024 00:26

Heating is off overnight and en-suite window open. Love a cold bedroom!

Stickykidney · 04/01/2024 07:17

Another one with no heating in the bedroom! Sitting between 11-12 this last wee while. Fluffy teddy sheets and hwb all the way... As well as being woken with a cold nose! I miss central heating.

margotrose · 04/01/2024 07:18

We don't have heating on overnight. In really cold weather it drops to about 12 degrees but normally it's about 14-15.

I can't sleep in warm rooms, I wake up feeling unwell with a headache.

Polis · 04/01/2024 08:12

No heating on overnight. The bedroom was 14 when I woke up this morning but we have been away for a week and the house is colder than it is normally.

CoatOfArms · 04/01/2024 08:13

No heating on overnight. We sleep in a loft room which has so much insulation that it's always roasting, window open year round unless it's battering in with wind/rain.

JenniferJupiterVenusandMars · 04/01/2024 08:19

No heating on in my bedroom, I hate sleeping in warm rooms. It’s very toasty in bed 😊

ExplodingPuppies · 04/01/2024 08:22

The thermostat is saying our house is 16c this morning, but it was probably lower in the night. We have no heating overnight and windows always slightly open in my bedroom, as I hate it being stuffy and hot.
