And if you have the heating on low overnight and if so what setting?

Heating off at night. It's around 16c when I go to bed at the moment, although, we have a cold snap due to guess it could be around 14c.

Heating off overnight and window open because I like the fresh air. BUT loads of throws on top of my quilt so always toasty.

By trial and error I’ve worked out that I sleep best in a cold room with lots of blankets (not a duvet).
I think the blankets weigh me down and cuddle me like a baby so I don’t toss and turn and wake myself up.

About 14 probably, heating goes off about 6 and our bedroom gets very cold. I like it that way though.

I don't know but there's no heating on and often the window open. I guess sometimes it drops to about 12 degrees. I sleep best like that

TheFallenMadonna · 04/01/2024 12:42

Thermostat set to 11 overnight. Doubt it's that low though. Set at 18 during the day as default, although I have been known to increase it by a degree or two...

I don't know, one minute it's you will get some sort of horrible disease and your house will be inundated with mould if you set the temperature under 18C.

Next minute it's the bedroom must be like the arctic and everyone is engaging in competitive freezing and how wide they can open their windows.

Double glazing has caused, humidity, mould issues. A friend a nurse with a partner who did opposite shifts so the bedroom, double glazed, that was slept in for 24 hours a day practically lost all the clothes, shoes, etc in their wardrobes when the back of the built in wardrobes turned black with mould.

It's really bad to wear socks to bed. Have a Google about it.

What? I’ve always worn socks in bed if my feet are cold! Surely, so long as they aren’t so tight they cut of circulation, there’s nothing wrong with it?

Liz1tummypain · 06/01/2024 15:10

The heating kicks in if it goes down to 11 but it's been getting to 12 degrees most nights recently, between 12 am and 4am. By 7.30am it goes to 20 degrees. Old cold house so it's only on for a couple of hours morning and night.
