And if you have the heating on low overnight and if so what setting?

14-17c depending on how cold it is outside and which way the wind is blowing on that particular day - tonight it’s around 15.8c. But then we don’t have any heating upstairs in our house (crappy rental where landlord does see it as a necessity!!) so we have a heated throw on the bed that we put on if it’s particularly cold; we all wear socks in bed and, at the moment, all sleep in one room.

It's really bad to wear socks to bed. Have a Google about it.

Raininghearts · 03/01/2024 21:12

Heating kicks in when it goes below 14 overnight , ive got loads of thick blankets too.

About 14 to 15...no heating on in the house after 5pm

AlwaysForksAndMarbles · 03/01/2024 21:14

Heating is always off unless a few timed periods during the day, and the bedroom is about 15 - 17C overnight at the moment. We’ve only ever left the heating on overnight in very very cold weather when it would be about 10C otherwise.

FlyingCherub · 03/01/2024 21:09

Heating goes off around 10pm, can't bear it on overnight. I sleep with the ensuite window open and my fan on otherwise I can't sleep.

DH has stropped off to the spare room where he sweats under a 15 tog duvet.

Don't blame him that sounds hideous! Freezing cold and noisy. Awful.

TempleOfBloom · 03/01/2024 21:15

Heating off at night, so probably about 13 - 16' depending on the general temperature outside.

It's set to 17.5 or 18 in the living room while we are in, so I would find 17' far too hot with my winter duvet on, and prefer to sleep in cool air.

mumsytoon · 03/01/2024 21:06

Ours is 21-22. Can't sleep in a freezing room.

Yep, A cold room literally wakes me up. I used to have the heating off overnight as id wake up with a sore throat, but past few years I’ve found cold air interferes with my
sleep. Actually recently bought a thermostat which I’m going to put in my bedroom as it feels like an ice block but I don’t know if it’s just me or if it really is that cold.

If it’s not too cold I switch it on from 9pm-11pm then turn it off before I go to sleep. However often I wake up in middle of the night and turn it back on to get back to sleep. I’m maybe going to start using my electric throw in bed instead to save money.

Waitingfordoggo · 03/01/2024 21:15

I don’t know what temp our bedroom is but no heating on at night here- I can’t sleep in a too-warm bedroom. We had a cold snap a month or two back and the end of my nose (which was more or less the only part of me exposed from under the duvet) was cold to the touch. That was a bit extreme but there was something very cosy about it.

Hercisback · 03/01/2024 21:15

13-15 can't sleep in the heat.

What's this about socks being bad?!

BusinessSecretsOfThePharaoh · 03/01/2024 21:16

About 14°.
Love a cold room and then a warm bed.

GettingStuffed · 03/01/2024 21:17

No central heating on and it's definitely going to be a double duvet night. The heating comes on about 5.30 so DS can get ready for work without freezing his bits off

TheCurlyKnobhead · 03/01/2024 21:17

No idea what temp but I sleep with the window open year round with no heating on overnight. Don't like a stuffy room

Lookingforbiscoff · 03/01/2024 21:17

AbsoFrickingLuteley · 03/01/2024 21:14

Same. I’d be fuming 😂.

I compromise with my bf by him not opening the window and me not having the heater on overnight.

Gnomegnomegnome · 03/01/2024 21:19

We have no heating but even when we did we never had the heating on in the bedroom.

No idea of what temperature it is but I take a hot water bottle to bed to warm up my toes.

Mazuslongtoenail · 03/01/2024 21:19

10 ish, no heating. A duvet and a wool blanket keeps us nice and warm under the covers.

Opsroto · 03/01/2024 21:20

My living room was 9 degrees when I got up at 8am this morning. I forgot to put the heating on timer to come on in the morning. It only felt cold once I was out of bed. I do sleep with a teddybear style duvet cover though, which keeps me really warm but like to have a cold pillow though!

Vettrianofan · 03/01/2024 21:20

TempleOfBloom · 03/01/2024 21:20

Socks in bed are fine, if they are loose enough not to cut off circulation, breathable, and clean on clean feet.

Tulipvase · 03/01/2024 21:21

I don’t know what the temp is, 17ish maybe? Depending on the outside temp obvs.

But as a pp said, no heating, windows open and a fan all year round. But we both like that, I do tend to have a blanket on my side too though.

Thelnebriati · 03/01/2024 21:22

The temp indoors is around 10-12 degrees when its about 6-9 degrees outside. We use warm clothing, heated blankets & hot water bottles and we're used to it now.

kitsuneghost · 03/01/2024 21:22

No heating. Quite often window open too

Tulipvase · 03/01/2024 21:23

I’m always surprised when peoples rooms are routinely 10 degrees or so. I wonder how accurate the thermostats are. I didn’t think it was that cold anywhere in the UK at the moment.

mumsytoon · 03/01/2024 21:06

Found my tribe of people 😂

gano · 03/01/2024 21:24

No idea what temp our bedrooms are overnight. I don't have the heating on overnight, as i think it's unnecessary when we're in bed. I can be very cold in the morning, but I'm first up and put the heating on then.
