Saw a friend tonight who came over, and when she did we both got a bit peckish but it was after dinner time. So I suggested a bowl of cereal (cereal is so much better in the evening) and our cereal of choice was weetabix.

She was nothing short of horrified at the amount of weetabix I placed in my bowl.
I had 4.. 4 weetabix. She had 2. IMO there's 3 mouthfuls to a whole individual weetabic..

I have been known to polish off 6, one time, but that was to replace an evening meal.
My toddler DD has 2 and she's more less than half the size of me! I've always had a pretty good metabolism and a very healthy weight etc.

Anyway, AIBU in having 4 weetabix. How many do you have?

If 4 fit in my bowl I'd do that easily, especially if it was for dinner. Has to have warm milk added though as I like em good and mushy. Warm milk added, not cold and then nuked because it's like glue if you do that which is gross

foulksmills · 21/12/2023 23:47

I sucked air through a weetabix once when I was two and I was so full afterwards I couldn't move for 40 years. Did keep me full the rest of my life after that though. And I lived to the ripe, old age of 193.

JenJenJenJenJenJen · 21/12/2023 23:48

I have two of the added protein Weetabix, with cold skimmed milk, and usually a banana sliced on top for breakfast most mornings. I’m dieting and find that keeps me going until lunchtime.

They’re not as nice as they used to be, much mushier and completely disintegrate in hot milk whereas before they used to go nicely mushy, but would remain a nice texture.

Alphabet1spaghetti2 · 21/12/2023 23:48

@ShittingPeugeot I like it. Thinking outside the weetabox.

AdultHumanFemale · 21/12/2023 23:48

Two with cold milk. And jam.

My bowls aren't big enough, clearly.

cantsleepinbed · 21/12/2023 23:48

DS has 2-3 for breakfast when he has Weetabix. He's 5.

I don't have it for breakfast but if I'm craving it as a snack of an evening, I'll happily polish off 4. Lots of sugar on top. Cold milk.

Onabench · 21/12/2023 23:49

I don’t have a bowl big enough for 4. I would say 2 is a normal portion. Instead of dinner I’d squeeze in 3 at a push. I’d be so bored eating them though

AllTheChaos · 21/12/2023 23:50

I mean, none because I don’t like them, but back when I could actually eat normally (ie eat all the things all the time because in my natural state I’m a greedy guts) then my idea of an evening snack was a large soup bowl full almost to the brim with porridge and fruit. And a family sized bar of milk chocolate. Usually followed by a second bar shortly before bed. Which is why I was obese before I got sick and got scrawny 😂

Zippedydoodahday · 21/12/2023 23:50

Oddly I could eat a whole pizza to myself and still have room for dessert, but I'd only eat two Weetabix.

grumpycow1 · 21/12/2023 23:51

Sorry OP but it’s 2 here! But mainly because I only eat them in a bowl where they can lie flat and I don’t like them to overlap (so the milk makes them all soft) And I heat them up. So I’m the weirdo here really, not you… 😂

CharlotteStreetW1 · 21/12/2023 23:51

Y (and my DH) ABU for referring to a single one as a Weetabic. Don't think I didn't notice 🤨

DecisionFatigue · 21/12/2023 23:52

Three, two on the bottom and one on top to make it look pretty. Cold milk and sugar.

MrsAvocet · 21/12/2023 23:52

One, and it would be a struggle to force that down. I think weetabix are very stodgy.
Crunch nut cornflakes on the other hand...

TinselTitts · 21/12/2023 23:53

2 here and a couple of Weetabix addicted colleagues eat them at work, and I've noticed they have 2.

But everyone's different, it doesn't matter what she thinks 🤷‍♂️

One of my children and I have a longstanding disagreement about the singular of 'lynx' which I feel might refer to the same case law.

pizzaHeart · 21/12/2023 23:55

2 for me and DD. DH puts 2 and adds other cereals but tbh I think he is just greedy. Always with a banana each.
4 is way too much imo and I’m far from fairy size.

When my son was about 3, he picked up a single noodle from his chicken chowmein, and insisted it was a 'Chinee'.

I said, 'do you mean Chinese?' He said, 'no because there's only one' 🤣🤣

mumda · 21/12/2023 23:57

2 but only with hot milk. Mushed up.mm.

Lacyy · 21/12/2023 23:58

I usually have 2 for breakfast but I absolutely cover them in sugar so I have to limit myself 😂

PossumintheHouse · 21/12/2023 23:58

If I had a massive bowl to hand and I was feeling greedy I’d pack in four with some cold milk and sugar. And then I’d feel sick and regret it and wish I’d only had two.
OK, three. Seeing as it’s Christmas.

Sgtmajormummy · 22/12/2023 00:03

TMI
I once ate seconds of Weetabix (so a total of 4) and had to stop the car in a motorway lay-by due to an impending poonami. Luckily it was late at night…

Now I stick to two.

UnctuousUnicorns · 22/12/2023 00:05

Two, sprinkled with sugar and scared with the minimum volume of cold skimmed milk, then eaten as swiftly as possible to avoid them going soggy and mushy. 🤢 See also for all cereals - gotta be crunchy.

Poppins2016 · 22/12/2023 00:07

I generally find cereal (including "filling" options such as porridge, muesli and granola) unsatisfying unless I have at least double the portion size recommended on the packet. For additional context/balance, I have a healthy/low BMI.

Mixing cereals Sad

I used to eat about 8.

Which is why I'm so fat, to be fair.

Grin I love you
