To think Taylor Swift will one day run for President and might even win?

I mean her success in music is staggering and she is obviously somebody who is extremely narcissistic driven.

I am not saying she would do this anytime soon but perhaps in say 20 - 30 years time.

She has an enormous fan base and the media seem to love her. Heck, she could almost fund her own presidential campaign.

It’s a very big ask to maintain her level of popularity for that long. She’s muddled through a couple of ‘scandals’ so far but the public loves to rip celebrities apart. I wouldn’t exactly think it out of the realms of possibility that she might get to thinking she should run the country… but I doubt it personally.

Well I say scandal very loosely, hence the quotation marks, but the whole Kim K / Kanye thing (the song/recorded phone call, not the Ima let you finish but.. incident) springs to mind. Could’ve backfired on her when it appeared she seemed to have lied about giving permission and whatever. Or rather, it could’ve been much harder to make a return. Also she’s a fan of a stunt relationship which realistically has a chance of backfiring at any time imo.

I love Taylor but the amount of environmental damage she inflicts through using that private jet is more than bullshit carbon credits can make up for. That alone doesn't make her a good bet for President.

And she only gets political when it suits her, she is happy to be silent on important issues if it serves her image.

But why are celebrities seemingly obliged to give opinions on "important issues"? Why can't they just do what the majority of people do and keep those opinions to themselves most of the time? She's a singer-songwriter not a political pundit.

Just because Mr Trump has delusions of grandeur and world domination doesn’t mean all celebs will follow suit. I genuinely think she’s smarter than that.

The film on Netflix I think called Americana is about Swift becoming more politically involved and the pushback she got from her management team for it. She publicly came out in favour of the democrats.

I think she’d be great.
