To think Taylor Swift will one day run for President and might even win?

I mean her success in music is staggering and she is obviously somebody who is extremely narcissistic driven.

I am not saying she would do this anytime soon but perhaps in say 20 - 30 years time.

She has an enormous fan base and the media seem to love her. Heck, she could almost fund her own presidential campaign.

If she's Republican, well at least that's the party that ended slavery but if she's a Democrat, well, they've come a long way since then.

Mr T would have been a better president than Donald Trump (a fool who I do not pity).

I mean the whole of American politics is further right than here... but pretty much the only things she’s publicly commented on are that she’s pro gay rights and pro abortion rights.

Who knows exactly how ‘left’ she is, but she endorsed Joe Biden in the last election and left wing (Democratic) candidates in previous midterms.

I really don't like her and I think she's extremely overrated (I just don't like capitalism) but she would do a much better job than that decrepit piece of blank paper we have now, or the Cheetoh dictator wannabe coming in next.

Reagan was Governor of California (ridiculously massive economy) before being elected President. He didn't just land from a movie set, regardless of his politics and Spitting Image.

I can see Taylor morphing into a Dolly Parton type philanthropist. Why be in the front seat when you can do so much good without having imminent threat of assassination?

I was on the East Coast for several weeks before Trump was elected. EVERYONE from professionals to cabbies were so certain he would never win. Never underestimate the flyover states and Republican base.

I like Taylor Swift - her songs are pretty good and she is a great role model for girls.

HOWEVER her world domination of pop music just tells us all we need to know about the state of music industry today. There are very few giants today . It’s so sad when you look back at music industry in the 70s etc… just so many amazing artists. Talent and originality everywhere you looked.

Feel really sorry for young people today.

She's dated Matty, the lead singer of the 1975, who's been called out for anti semitic & racist behaviour- associating with him to my mind shows she's a poor judge of character.

I quite like the fact that whenever she urges people to register to vote, they do in tens of thousands, and that really pisses off Republicans.

To be fair, the current domination of pop music is because of the sheer volume of work she’s been putting out over the last wee while.

In the past 3 years she’s released 3 new albums and 4 re-recorded ones, with new songs added.

There are plenty of other pop artists doing fine, just releasing stuff at a normal rate.

And she’s split up from him.

I’d be surprised if she wanted to be president. It’s incredibly expensive to run.

Shall we assume it's a more sophisticated answer than wildly popular, incredibly successful, slightly more than average looking (sarcastic) and fabulously rich?

I get that people don't like her music etc. but narcissistic is a leap. Unless we are saying, without evidence, that all such famous folk must by definition of being famous be narcissistic.

Kim and Kanye were actually the ones who were lying. That didn't surprise me when I found it out, as you can tell that a Kardashian is lying by the fact that their lips are moving.
On the subject of Taylor, I like her but I doubt she would want to run for office. She knows her own skillset and fighting with asshole politicians day in day out wouldn't be her idea of a good time. Plus I doubt she'd win, anyway. A lot of people like her, but she also has a great many haters. I'm neither a Swiftie nor a hater, but I probably wouldn't vote for her unless there were very few decent candidates.

There's a pattern of behavior being one of the worst individual people on earth contributing to climate change then spinning it like she's actually a great person- fucking lying to make herself look better, obsessed with her public persona and making everyone like her. She even sings about it. Peak narcissism.

On a more rationale note, i watched her eras tour last night and came away thinking she is an incredibly talented woman.
