To find this a bit boastful?

I have a friend with an 18 month old daughter with her husband. They often post photos of her/them all as a family on social media, and I rarely seem to see this friend anymore but I know they have bought a new build home and her husband is in quite a senior position at work.
They posted a picture of their daughter yesterday and wrote a caption: "We are so blessed with our jobs to be in a position to provide you with absolutely everything you need and so much more!"
I just think it's a bit showy-off, yes it's not a big deal but it's kind of boasting that they earn well, and that it's only monetary things that matter/mean you can provide.

They sound like a right pair of cunty dullards. The cringe is off the scale.

Mrsjayy · 19/12/2023 16:59

HA! Cunty dullards 😄

dickiedavisthunderthighs · 19/12/2023 17:04

Sounds like a massively pass-agg dig at someone they know; it's the "with our jobs" bit that stands out.
I wonder if they have a friend or relative who's on the scrounge.

RudsyFarmer · 19/12/2023 17:05

Bloody hell lol. I would never dream of writing some such shit. Any hashtags?

itsmyp4rty · 19/12/2023 17:06

Well their child isn't going to read it so who exactly are they telling this to? Spoilt brat in the making there.

Iwantmyoldnameback · 19/12/2023 17:08

Who looks after baby? Does she spend a lot of time at Nursery? Could there be guilt?

Verv · 19/12/2023 17:08

It is, but this is the nature of the instaculture these days.
Easiest to just think "yes yes very good" and move on without being remotely bothered.

Fbifan · 19/12/2023 17:09

totally twattish. Society is sadly full of them and now they’ve been given a platform to enhance it. I do worry for the future of society.

our old neighbour once posted pictures of their extension with a comment “just finished in time for summer” and some sort of blessed hashtags. However, it had been finished for MONTHS, she just wanted the humble brag of showing it at its best summer light #absolutebellend

Gillypie23 · 19/12/2023 17:11

Yeah it's wanky behaviour. Social media is full of it.

Needhelpsupport · 19/12/2023 17:13

How funny 🤣 Am embarrassed for her !

bonzaitree · 19/12/2023 17:13

Might be good to be proud that you can provide for your child.

Cunty to post that on SM.

Fbifan · 19/12/2023 17:14

And the other one I can’t stand is people posting pictures of their renovations with comments like “a sneaky peak of the kitchen” - like we’re all on tenterhooks. “Phew, at least it’s operational for our Christmas Day of 18”. Oh do fucking jog on.

Sandstorm33 · 19/12/2023 17:19

They do wish each other happy birthday and happy whatever on social media all the time, it's always 'thank you for everything you do' 🤢.
Afaik the baby goes to nursery part-time and then her parents have him some other days.

Well yes, he is a chronic oversharer but even this was a bit much, especially as he's often pleading poverty to his mum...

I need to know how much it was for? What monthly income is worth sharing with the world?

BubbleBubbleBubbleBubblePop · 19/12/2023 17:28

How cringey of them.

Ibex22 · 19/12/2023 17:30

BigBouncyBaubles · 19/12/2023 14:14

How can people not cringe themselves inside out posting that kind of tripe? I’m clenching my arse in secondhand embarrassment for them.

#clenching #bum #makingmemories #blessed

Haha!!

Agreed. What a wanky thing to post. Cringe central.

Greenpolkadot · 19/12/2023 17:30

What a couple of cocks

SheerLucks · 19/12/2023 17:33

Cripes they sound horrendous!!

justjuggling · 19/12/2023 17:34

I just can’t imagine what she was thinking when she posted that? Surely she must have had some idea how it would be viewed by others? Does she say the same kind of rubbish when you see her in person or is it just on SM?

Daddydog · 19/12/2023 17:43

Anyone who posts that type of stuff isn't really saying it to impress others, they are saying it to try and convince themselves! Take what ever boasts people share online, reverse it and that's probably closer to the truth!

As the old Game of Thrones saying goes "Any man who says 'I am the king' is no king"

Pollenandbloom · 19/12/2023 17:51

Maybe a (misguided) attempt at proving someone wrong/responding to criticism? Or trying to get at someone they perceive as not putting the effort in. It is really cringe whatever the background though

coolkatt · 19/12/2023 17:54

prob up to their eyeballs in debt

MrsRandom123 · 19/12/2023 18:15

Yabu because thats pretty much what social media is for! Why i came off it years ago.

you sound jealous

RosePetals86 · 19/12/2023 18:18

People chat absolute sh!te on sm😬😂 if that’s what she thinks then good for them but ask yourself why she’s felt the need to broadcast it to all?
It screams of insecurity to me! Take sm with a large dose of salt!

Soj34 · 19/12/2023 18:28

Christ, that's so cringey!

I've just seen an MLM mum post a picture of her payslip from this year. So apparently she's on a 6 figure salary but still qualifies for UC! Amazing how that's worked out for her 😂
