I have a friend with an 18 month old daughter with her husband. They often post photos of her/them all as a family on social media, and I rarely seem to see this friend anymore but I know they have bought a new build home and her husband is in quite a senior position at work.
They posted a picture of their daughter yesterday and wrote a caption: "We are so blessed with our jobs to be in a position to provide you with absolutely everything you need and so much more!"
I just think it's a bit showy-off, yes it's not a big deal but it's kind of boasting that they earn well, and that it's only monetary things that matter/mean you can provide.

Tbh it sounds like maybe she's a little insecure? It's an odd thing to say. No one who is genuinely happy needs to post stuff like that on social media.

@ManchesterLu I always think that too , especially the ones posting with their partner constantly saying how happy they are !

You'd think after 18 months of having the child, blessed they certainly aren't, they must have been covered in shit and vomit a few times by now.

Whenever I was dealing with that, shagged out at 2am, I wasn't thinking "oh how blessed I am", it was more like "why did we do this!!!".

Well, she's not happy is she? If you've got to post that on SM something is badly wrong with your life.

I would also worry about tempting fate! You say something like that you are totally tempting fate - to be made redundant/ find out your Dh wears dresses/your child becomes a teen horror

No doubt they will post a picture of a Christmas tree with stacks of presents around it just so everyone can see how boastful they are

Surely that’s exactly the sort of bullshit that social media was designed for? It’s just another form of entertainment like reality TV programmes. 🤷🏻‍♀️
