Somebody keeps knocking at my door

I’ve no idea who it is. Peeped outside without them seeing me and they keep knocking hard 3 times. Then again 3 times then again 3 times. They left and now half an hour later they’re back. Would you answer? I’m worried as I really do not recognise them

Oh and another thing mnetters, leafleters/flier droppers can be an excuse to go on to your property and look around, and steal parcels too from mailboxes.

Why on earth are people telling OP to open the door of her instincts are telling her something is off??? OP don't open the door if you feel uneasy, listen to your gut. Just ask through the door who it is or through a window. Is there a neighbour you can text to pop round?

Why should a neighbour pop round when OP can't answer her own door?

It might be dangerous, so neighbour you risk it because I'm too anxious!

Honestly, if you won't do it yourself, don't expect other people to sort it did you.

I don’t answer the door because I was kicked the living shit out by someone that was banging on my door. I also am behind on council tax so could well be bailiffs.

OP may be in a similar position , let’s not be dickheads.

Get a video doorbell OP for the future. You don’t have to get a Ring one. Ours was about £45 or maybe less off Amazon. Had it for 4 years and it’s great.

You can speak to them through it from the sofa and get recordings if you think it’s someone dodgy. You never need to answer the door unless you want to.

I do kind of get where OP is coming from. I mean, there are people out there with 'issues'. The parent of a child your own child has crossed, someone with a grudge for some inexplicable reason, case of mistaken identity. I was attacked outside my own home years ago by some alcoholic female neighbour who was shitfaced at 4pm, over some spat with our kids and a toy watering can. Not everyone's reasonable, stable or mentally well. But yes, as pps have mentioned, calling down out of the window is the best way to go.

I feel like a lot of commenters here have never lived in a dangerous area, I am lucky and have a frosted window in my door so can see out if I stand on my toes, but I hate opening the door if it’s something I’m not expecting like a delivery.
