iv been taking co cdimol because I heard it’s good to stop coughing.

I took 2 and 8pm and just had a shot of night nurse not even thinking before I go bed.

im Shitting myself :( help!!

Ring 111.

No one here can help you.

Hope you're okay though! ❤️

Sparkletastic · 01/12/2023 20:39

You'll be fine don't worry. Nowhere near an overdose. Drink some water. Do you feel ok?

AdoraBell · 01/12/2023 20:40

Is there a pharmacy open late you could go to or call? Or call 101.

Echobelly · 01/12/2023 20:40

Yes, ring 111. I'd be suprised if you were in any danger to be honest, an overdose is more than taking two things together, but check with someone to put your mind at rest.

IHS · 01/12/2023 20:40

That dose won't have any untoward effects. You'll be fine.

fourelementary · 01/12/2023 20:41

In 24 hours how many cocodamol (and what strength) and how many “shots” of nightnurse? Is a shot 10ml or 20?

Kinneddar · 01/12/2023 20:42

AdoraBell · 01/12/2023 20:40

I know calling 101 is a mumsnet answer to everything but I'm not sure this is anything the Police could help with 🤭

Seriously though OP you'll be fine

JennieTheZebra · 01/12/2023 20:42

How much paracetamol have you taken in total (in grams) over the last 24 hours? You can take max 4g a day. Anything more is an overdose and, depending on how much more and your weight, could need medical attention.

stepintochristmas1 · 01/12/2023 20:42

Yes it's a bit odd to come straight to MN , phone your NHS service .

cathyandclaire · 01/12/2023 20:44

Also something to think about is how much you weigh, if you're taller/ bigger/ heavier your maximum dose is greater.

Indoorvoicesbluey · 01/12/2023 20:44

I’m not ringing 101 if I don’t have to, I feel really light headed but also still got a headache and a bloody cough :( iv taken myself to bed lol

Dogcatmousecat · 01/12/2023 20:45

What dose of co codamol ,have you taken any paracetamol as well ? What do you mean about a shot of night nurse ?
If concerned call 111.

Indoorvoicesbluey · 01/12/2023 20:46

Yeah I’m deffo a bigger girl which is why I thought the night nurse didn’t really work for me :(

DaughterNo2 · 01/12/2023 20:46

Not sure if you had flu you’d be wanting or able to post on here. Probably need to check with a pharmacist

Indoorvoicesbluey · 01/12/2023 20:47

20ml night nurse

I’ think it’s a low does co codimol

JennieTheZebra · 01/12/2023 20:48

It’s the paracetamol amount which is dangerous. Are they 8/500s?

SoRainbowRhythms · 01/12/2023 20:48

You'll be absolutely fine.

fourelementary · 01/12/2023 20:50

To overdose you’d likely need more than 8000-10000mg if you’re a bigger lady. If you don’t feel worse than earlier (or just shit as you’ve got flu) I’d just drink plenty water and try to sleep.

NuffSaidSam · 01/12/2023 20:51

OP: I'm shitting myself.

Posters: Call this number where they can quickly and efficiently put your mind at rest.

OP: I'm not doing that!

Offcom · 01/12/2023 20:52

I totally get asking mumsnet instead of dialling 111

TuesdayQ · 01/12/2023 20:54

As you don't want to call 111, I'll repeat what others have said: it really depends on how much paracetamol you've had over 24hrs.

How many mg of paracetamol have you taken in the last 24hrs; combining the total of paracetamol in the Night Nurse and the co-codamol (even if the codeine is low strength, the paracetamol isn't).

JennieTheZebra · 01/12/2023 20:54

@fourelementary not necessarily. For paracetamol, toxicity generally starts at 75mg/kg. If the OP weighs 80kg (so 12 and a half stone) that’s only 6000mg. If more than 5g in 24 hours the OP should phone 111.

easilydistracted1 · 01/12/2023 20:55

There's an online 111 type service which will give you advice on overdoses including accidental paracetamol overdoses. Its a bit confusing, did you take the recommended amount of paracetamol and then one measured dose of night nurse on top? Or have you taken more paracetamol then recommended and then a slug of night nurse on top? Low level overdoses of paracetamol can cause harm just at a slower rate so the impact can creep up on you, particularly if you do it regularly. I'd definitely suggest checking with 111 one way or another

It’s a myth that it can’t be flu if you don’t feel awful. Flu can be asymptomatic or as mild as a cold.

Yes, ring 111. I'd be suprised if you were in any danger to be honest, an overdose is more than taking two things together, but check with someone to put your mind at rest.

Both contain paracetamol so it could be an overdose.

Op if you haven't taken more than 4g of paracetamol in the last 24hrs you'll be ok
