To think Michael Gove wasn’t just out for a stroll through Victoria station last night

So Michael Gove just ‘happened’ to be strolling through Victoria station last night right through the middle of a pro- palestine sit in 🙄 How fucking stupid do they think people are?

Deflects nicely from Suella & right wing Tommy Robinson mob doesn’t it. The palestine March was mostly peaceful given the huge numbers but you always get a few dickheads on any March. The right wing mob however we’re fighting with police at the cenotaph. The state of this country.

"I know, why don't I walk directly through a Pro-Palestinian sit-in protest ...that will be a totally safe and normal thing to do on a Saturday night’

Michael Gove has the air of a coked up megalomaniac.

It's not a peaceful protest if you're attacking people. Too any folks using this war to abuse Jewish and Muslim folks, and just cause aggro in general. Lock all the racists and xenophobes up.

Ceasefire now.

RudsyFarmer · 12/11/2023 10:58

I think I know what you mean. The Mail decided to run with a story that takes the focus off the EDL and potential racial hatred stoking being done by the Home Sec by focusing on an MP being jostled by the Pro Palestinian protestors? Yep. I expect you’re correct.

Everythingnotsavedwillbelost73 · 12/11/2023 10:59

@LizzieBananas oh of course! I totally forgot that! There we go then!!

hotblacktea · 12/11/2023 10:59

are you blaming the victim there ? skirt too short, that type of thing ?

there is no excuse, end of story, all these so called "peaceful" protests supporting terrorist and hostage takers should be banned

Best description of Gove ever!

Have the mail published a front page retraction of the poppy seller story that turned out to be nonsense.

The word jostled made me laugh. I'm sure there were some dickheads telling him what they thought of him. But has anyone ever got through a London station without being 'jostled'?

Trying to show equivalence with Nazi salutes and fighting the police at the cenotaph is shameful.

They split did they not.

Everythingnotsavedwillbelost73 · 12/11/2023 11:00

@RudsyFarmer absolutely that.

We have a Home Secretary stoking hate and division. The state of it. It’s so dangerous to all communities involved.

Not for a while!

Everythingnotsavedwillbelost73 · 12/11/2023 11:01

@hotblacktea not remotely. That’s not my point at all. I just don’t believe it was genuine- I believe he did it to poke the fire- he had a police escort of 20 cops around him too.

They separated ages ago

Choux · 12/11/2023 11:04

Isn't he now gay? Or always was but....

Anyway yes I think he did that to get the headlines away from Suella and show she was right. I saw an interview where he was asked if he condemned her words and he said she was a friend of his.

Everythingnotsavedwillbelost73 · 12/11/2023 11:05

@hotblacktea also, fortunately, thanks to the sacrifices made in both wars, we do live in a democratic country where we can’t just ‘ban’ protests.

Surely it doesn't matter why he's there - he shouldn't have been "jostled" and bruised full stop.

Divorced

Goldshelfie · 12/11/2023 11:09

You are very unreasonable. Anyone in this country should be free to go about their business without being harassed and followed by a mob.

roarrfeckingroar · 12/11/2023 11:09

Hostages freed now.

Then a ceasefire.

Agree

Everythingnotsavedwillbelost73 · 12/11/2023 11:10

@Goldshelfie obviously. But I suspect he deliberately put himself in that position knowing how heightened the situation was yesterday. He was flanked by tons of coppers. Hardly a normal situation.

Have they arrested any of the pro hamas thugs who were harassing Jews leaving a synagogue yet?

kirbykirby · 12/11/2023 11:17

Eh, there was loads of violence and racist signs at the protest, its been documented extensively on social media but the mainstream press seems to be focused only on "far right" protestors for some reason and however distasteful he might be, Gove should be allowed to walk anywhere in his own city without being harrassed. Disgraceful behaviour.

Ifailed · 12/11/2023 11:19

Let's take his word that he was coming back from his constituency, Surrey Heath. He is a senior member of the Government travelling back into London during a busy demonstration and Victoria station would be full of protestors travelling home.
If didn't want to be recognised, surely he would have made different travel plans?

Throwhandsupintheair · 12/11/2023 11:19

When I saw this, totally thought the same. It was a desperate attempt to get headlines away from the ‘patriotic’ far right actually throwing nazi salutes at the cenotaph.

Which top politician decides to stroll through the busiest station in the UK during the largest demonstration in years? Also what does ‘jostling’ mean. Some people shouting ‘shame on you!’ isn’t violence.

If anyone is truly buying this, I have a bridge to sell you. This guy was a journalist, he knew exactly what he was doing. He still believes in the Daily Mail/hard right agenda regardless of whether he left his wife to live his best life. They are still aligned politically.

It was totally in the Daily Mails interest to create a distraction as they did their level best to encourage the far right to turn up yesterday, and it back fired. Desperate and transparent stuff. How many normal folks could have avoided being victims of real crimes in London last night, whilst Gove wasted thin on the ground police for his PR attempt?
