To think Michael Gove wasn’t just out for a stroll through Victoria station last night

So Michael Gove just ‘happened’ to be strolling through Victoria station last night right through the middle of a pro- palestine sit in 🙄 How fucking stupid do they think people are?

Deflects nicely from Suella & right wing Tommy Robinson mob doesn’t it. The palestine March was mostly peaceful given the huge numbers but you always get a few dickheads on any March. The right wing mob however we’re fighting with police at the cenotaph. The state of this country.

He was followed through the streets first - if you scroll down the Mail's article there's a video of him walking alone without a police escort.

Mr Gove was travelling home from his Surrey constituency by car but was dropped off in Victoria because of road closures...

He started walking through the streets but was followed by the angry mob. Mr Gove then walked to the station where he thought he would be safer, according to sources close to him. It was then that police intervened.

He probably lives within walking distance of Victoria Station.

@Alyosha yes of course everyone has the right to go about their business. But we all also have the right to live in a country where the actual Home Secretary isn’t stirring racial tensions & whipping up hate. It’s all on her.

There were families with young kids at that match yesterday & she encouraged a hate mob of violent far right extremists to pursue them.

The met police did an impressive job yesterday keeping it all under constrol.

Edited

If someone said everyone should wear pink, should we ? Everyone is responsible for their own conduct and behavior

lljkk · 12/11/2023 11:46

maybe it's a good thing he went to see the protest for himself, to see how peaceful or not it was for himself, to hear what people had to say for himself, to get a sense of the size of the crowd & their demands FOR HIMSELF.

I don't like the guy but I cannot criticise him if in fact he did indeed go there on purpose to observe FOR HIMSELF.

Goldshelfie · 12/11/2023 11:09

You are very unreasonable. Anyone in this country should be free to go about their business without being harassed and followed by a mob.

This ^^

Alyosha · 12/11/2023 11:46

You have the right to vote for a different government. You don't have the right to harass, intimidate or attack democratically elected politicians in public. Suella Braverman's politics are neither here nor there, it's not "on her" that some scrotes thought it was OK to jostle/stalk/harass/scream at Michael Gove. She's awful, so make sure you vote out her nasty government at the next election.

Everythingnotsavedwillbelost73 · 12/11/2023 11:47

Eh? She’s the fucking Home Secretary - she has a responsibility to not whip up hate. She wrote an actual article about it criticising the police. She tried to incite violence.

If Hamas lay down their arms and release the hostages, the war will end....

If Israel lays down their arms the State of Israel will cease to exist....
Two very different scenarios.

Hamas has already stated its intention to wipe out ALL Jewish people.

How can everyone not see how alike Hamas is to the Nazis???

Do you have concrete prove that , that was her intention or is that just your analysis ?

hotblacktea · 12/11/2023 10:59

are you blaming the victim there ? skirt too short, that type of thing ?

there is no excuse, end of story, all these so called "peaceful" protests supporting terrorist and hostage takers should be banned

I always try to abide by what Voltaire said " I don't agree with what you say but I will fight to death for you to have the right to say it". Your post really tested me to be honest.
I also try to abide by " It is hard to win an argument with a smart person but it's dam near impossible with an idiot." Therefore, I will not argue with you as you appear to belong to the latter group.

@askmenow dont get me started on collective punishment. Palestinian people, children are NOT Hamas.

Why should it not be expected to be safe?

Teentaxidriver · 12/11/2023 11:54

Spot on Askme. The pro-Palestinian Islamic Jihadist on MNs, would rather not address that inconvenient truth. Tbh I think the protestors are mostly young and naive. Watch done of them being interviewed is excruciating. No grasp of the facts. It is just trendy to protest.

SomeCatFromJapan · 12/11/2023 11:56

"I know, why don't I walk directly through a Pro-Palestinian sit-in protest ...that will be a totally safe and normal thing to do on a Saturday night’

We've been told repeatedly the marches are peaceful though.

Mumsgirls · 12/11/2023 11:56

I deplore the violence on both sides, all violence . According To Braverman it makes me a terrorist supporter. 1984 or what?
Government trying to say that our public is supporting the Israeli government. Surely it is logical to deplore both the hamas attacks and the response. Innocents killed on both sides

kirbykirby · 12/11/2023 11:56

Everythingnotsavedwillbelost73 · 12/11/2023 11:20

@kirbykirby there wasn’t loads of violence at the big March. That was the far right March at the cenotaph- nearly all the arrests were at the so called ‘counter’ demo. Yes there were horrible signs though.

Suella, our actual Home Secretary caused this. Stirred up hate and problems. Given the large volume of people on the big March, there was very little actual trouble.

There was loads of violence. Its all over social media and is well documented.

Museum1066 · 12/11/2023 11:57

So in summary spin and reinterpretion of what was actually said,

Hamas came in less than 20 years ago. Palestinians have been treated poorly way before then. You have known people in Netanyahu government say that Gazans should be killed, Gaza destroyed etc.. He has people in his party (Likud) that call for genocide of the Palestinian people but there has never been any condemnation for these people.

You have people in their government that say the Muslim countries should take them all in and how they should be expelled. But you never hear anyone condemn them?

Lets say Hamas was destroyed tomorrow? Will violence end? No of course not and history shows us this. Iraq, Afghanistan what happened after ISIS who were worse than The Taliban. You kill one terrorist group Hamas and you will see a new one will be formed.
