Enjoyed watching the documentary, he was different than I expected him to be, not sure how really, but I have more respect for Victoria now as I think their lives have been about what he wanted/needed mainly
There are rumours of lots of affairs, is this true though as I find that hard to believe, he seemed so obsessed with her

I loved Gary Neville in this- he talks a lot of sense in my opinion. Also loved Roy Keane ridiculing David’s expensive pen(and people think VB is the driving force behind the grand ideas?!). My absolute favourite part was Victoria quoting the press: ‘’what would Posh think?’ I’ll tell you what Posh thinks- she’s really pissed off!’. Seemed to me she was sending herself up a bit.

I’ve only seen the first two episodes but I was overwhelmed how down ro earth, loyal and grounded the Man Utd team and Alex Ferguson were at the time DB was public enemy no 1. How wonderful to have friends and a support network like that.
As far as my opinion on the Beckham couple goes, how the fuck does VB look so sublime at nearly 50? Wish I had her amazing wealth and diet discipline.

It’s spanned over several years the rumours that he’s been unfaithful, but that it’s something she now perhaps uncomfortably accepts as part of the deal that they remain marriage. Difficult to believe when you see them on the documentary and speaking about each other. I have read of more than one child from an affair, but the only one with specifics is Harper’s ex primary school teacher. Allegedly all paid to keep it out of the papers.

That Argentinian Simeon or whatever is his name is a piece of fucking work and fucked David over. Admitting to it all being dramatic etc what a knob.

Gary Neville is like the dream man now. He's just growing on me more and more every snippet I see.

It must've been horrific to get kidnapping threats and death threats as soon as you have a baby. Omg that must've been awful.

The fans are so emotionally abusive. Like, make a mistake and they ruin your life. They change their mind and want you to do well so start singing your name. What's the deal with that? Fucking support, end of.

Paparazzi following them around was so invasive.
The headline about Victoria being too posh too push - I forgot about that too. Honestly, gutter press.

I loved the fact David's parents put their last holiday costs on the suns dollar haha.

I haven't seen the puff piece, nor do I have any particular opinion about either Beckham.

However, I saw her at Wimbledon a few years ago - 6 years ish? - and I actually felt a bit sorry for her. She was acting very, very strangely - doing a pose with her underneath her chin, holding her head just so, squaring her shoulders in a certain way - and carrying out these little movements on a loop for THREE HOURS.

David was sitting next to her and he was just watching the tennis. She was doing these odd little poses for hours, and not looking at the game. They barely spoke to each other, and he didn't seem in the least bothered about what VB was doing, so I assume it was their normal.

It was hard not to watch, but as I say, I felt sorry for her - she looked unhappy and self conscious. I know, the cameras, but there were plenty of other slebs there acting perfectly normally.

She only eats steamed kale and some other small variety of greens. Doesn't sound very good to me. Having such a rigid diet to confirm to what you think society wants you to be. Sad.

Clearly the doc is heavily curated in their favour, but I’m finding it quite funny how vehemently some on here are rejecting the possibility they’re actually happily married as media curated fiction concocted to sell their brand, simply because they’ve read media curated scurrilous rumours that definitely weren’t concocted to sell papers…

People really will perpetuate any old bullshit gossip as if repeating lies for a certain amount of time somehow makes them fact 😂

I remember a Spanish friend of mine, around the time the Beckhams lived there. saying he was always in the papers because there was a constant stream of girls coming forward saying they had slept with him. It was pretty much taken as fact back then.

He came across badly as far as I am concerned. From the first episode where he was behind the door telling her to really say what car her dad drove and going on and on until she said..

to the excuses that Victoria wasn't there in Spain, he couldn't speak the language bla bla bla- still no accountability

To the other endless rumours of affairs that was missed from this

I warmed to Victoria. She was bullied at school, never felt as comfortable with the big personalities in the spice girls yet she still has a sense of humour and was honest about the impact the affair had on her.

David is obsessed with his daughter and maybe now feels some remorse- what if his daughter was treated in the way he treated his wife.

I think they are older now and just sticking together.

I felt like the very end conversation was very telling.

Db to Victoria : I don't know how her accent changed without elocution lessons, she really sounded common back in the day ( that disdainful undercurrent like someone said earlier is sooo true)

Vb: I'm really glad you understand the meaning of elocution darling ! ( reinforcing the thick footballer stereotype ??)

I feel like both of them 'joked' about things that were sensitive for the other - I could be wrong but it did make me wince a bit for both of them.

I used to work in the media and it was around the time of the loos affair. He was known for having affairs, and has at least one child out of them. I think he's at the age where he prefers his life with her now/brand Beckham

I do think they both came across very well, (especially VB) but that's the whole point of it right?! It was never going to be objective.

@SomeoneKidda How strange. I’ve seen a video of her sitting at a game with David and acting very strange, constantly twisting this way and that at all angles and it looks like she’s asking him if she looks ok..strange

One of the boys look like him. Not the one whose trying to be a singer and not Brooklyn. Romeo? He looks very like DB. The other two look like Victoria.

I think I'm the only person on this thread who likes VB more than DB. She's disparaging and the little I know about her, I find funny as I like her sense of humour.

Like a few others here, I think I fell a bit in love with Gary Neville in this documentary. I always liked the cut of his jib and thought him an underrated footballer but he achieved the difficult task here of being loyal and true to his friend but also honest and not arse-licking. Also very funny. And did I mention really attractive in a normal sort of way. I would fancy him way more than Beckham, he seems more real somehow. I also enjoyed Roy Keane's inputs, would love to have heard more from him.
