He has no backbone, no coherent policies (u-turns a dozen times a day)and no understanding of ordinary people's lives. Plus he wears all his clothes a size too small, which really irritates me.

Asking for a rationale beyond 'Labour would be worse' does not equate to a verbal attack. Unless you're a very sensitive person.

Agree.

I'd like to see the verbal attacks. Oh actually - if there were any they'd be deleted.

The only deleted posts I've seen lately on political chat threads have been the avid Tory voters. Confused

Personally I'd love to hear how this a Tory government is going to improve things as we have them for another 15 months max.

It's a shame no one can tell us 🤷‍♀️

Luckydip1 · 04/10/2023 17:15

If Labour do win, it will be an anti Tory vote not a pro Labour vote.

Personally I think every change in government since I was born (1980) has been that way and I've said so in the past.

I'm not in the "Labour won't be better" camp.

I'm more in the "I doubt they'll be worse than this lot and hope they'll be better!" Camp

It helps that I find Starmer calming and reassuring and quite centric which is where my political stance lies.

I'd love them to get in and have a go at improving things because historically public services are better under Labour and right now my sector (education) needs people who want it to improve.

IClaudine · 04/10/2023 18:03

@Daz57 please make sure you report the verbal attacks to MNHQ for deletion.

Yes, he's annoying and tells a lot of lieqs. But what has really irritated me, aside from the uturns on the North, is his wheeling out the lovely Mrs Sunak to reveal to us his true self. It reminds me of when a 21 year old woman brought her mum along to a job interview. Bad enough we have 13 years of these charlatans without the special pleading. Ugh.

I loved his recognition of women!!! At last someone is prepared to stand up to trans ideology.

Yawn.

The use of multiple exclamation marks does not make a statement more valid or credible.

I knew as soon as I heard that some of MN would be in seventh heaven. Shame so few people actually care about it.

@SerendipityJane it could be worse like with Labour. Keep hearing people they used to vote Labour and are now politically homeless.

That was 2019 when I spoilt my paper. Normal service will be resumed for me - and I suspect many erstwhile Labour voters next time.

Gordon Brown's wife, Sarah did the same in 2009....

And where was this recognition when it came to Akshata Murty's non dom status?

Really? You're obviously not on Twitter. I totally care about young people's bodies being mutilated. We will look back on this as a shameful episode in our history. The Tories are going to be out of power next year. Quite rightly. But on this Rishi Sunak is completely correct. Ditto Lord Winston

Transgender surgery is ‘mutilation’, Dr Robert Winston says

House of Lords member said a person’s sex ‘cannot be changed’

All that simpering 'we are each others best friends' was nauseating.

What happened to bodily autonomy @Derxa? And I don’t visit transphobic areas of Twitter.

You think cutting off healthy breasts and fashioning a 'penis' out of muscle tissue is a good idea? Transphobic? I could weep for those girls.

countrygirl99 · 04/10/2023 18:45

Presumably the Tories will be putting lots of money into upgrading mental health resources instead
All this growth of transfer has happenedunder the Tory watch.

It shouldn't be used as a political football. There are cabinet ministers such as Penny Mordaunt and Gillian Keegan who don't agree with Sunak and obviously Rosie Duffield doesn't agree with Keir Starmer's viewpoint.

There are many things which don't affect my life that I'm concerned about. I'm not that narrow minded.

Why is cutting breasts off mutilation, but stuffing them full of silicone is fine? Why is fashioning a fake penis mutilation, but having a labiaplasty because your genitals aren't pretty enough is fine? All of these things are equally abhorrent and we don't deal with the drivers for them well enough.

And given that all of this has exploded under the Tories, it's a bit rich to go all 'but Labour' about it.

Notonthestairs · 04/10/2023 19:04

Does anyone seriously believe scrapping A and T levels at this juncture (ie when education has been cut right, left and centre and we are struggling to recruit) is the right thing to do?

All of these things are equally abhorrent and we don't deal with the drivers for them well enough. These are not equal at all. Getting breast enlargements and labiaplasties are usually decisions taken by women well into adulthood. You do realise that women who lose their breasts due to cancer often have breast implants.

bombastix · 04/10/2023 19:08

It's utter fantasy. There is so much the country needs and literally this jumble sale of policies was all he could do.

Also, where were the free school meals for dogs? Maybe they cut it out, fools.

Well with circumcision of baby boys still going on, really it's just a matter of the price, isn't it ?

No I don't.

Focus in education needs to be much better on finding it properly as a priority and then increasing choice of HE course (so a return to grades/ vocational courses) rather more of a one size fits all attempt at education.

We have an explosion of MH difficulties as it is. We need to give more pupils an opportunity to sieved where their talents lie - not make more feel inadequate because they don't meet the "British standard level" course.

pointythings · 04/10/2023 19:19

@derxa I didn't say they were equal, I said they were equally abhorrent. They all stem from a society that tells women that no matter what they are, they are not good enough. That underlying internalised and societal misogyny is what needs addressing.

And yes, infant circumcision - why are we OK with that? (I'm not.) We can't have our cake and eat it.
