He has no backbone, no coherent policies (u-turns a dozen times a day)and no understanding of ordinary people's lives. Plus he wears all his clothes a size too small, which really irritates me.

Is that why he doesn't go to the major international events like UNGA?

Is that why Macron didn't go - is he gormless as well?

You absolutely do if it's the Tory membership who get to make the decision.

The Conservative Party Membership didn't even want him. He was chosen to be PM by less than 400 UK citizens.Shock

BIossomtoes · 01/10/2023 20:28

They haven’t asked me to write the manifesto @jgw1. Perhaps Clav knows something I’m not yet party to.

Given that they don't do the Tories and favours with their constant defending of lies, perhaps they do in fact work for the other side?

Lonelycrab · 01/10/2023 20:35

My personal opinion is that Keir Starmer has told more 'lies' during the last three years than Boris Johnson

Thats made me actually laugh quite a lot, thanks for that if nothing else.

I am very pleased to see that broad agreement as broken out this evening that Sunak is gormless.

That will allow us time to discuss whether Macron is similar afflicted. I am not particularly aware of French politics so perhaps you could help me out.

Has Macron broken the law by not knowing he was at a party?

Is Marcon proud of rebuilding 1/400th of the countries schools each year?

Is Marcon in the process of scrapping policies that did not exist?

Comedy is alive and well.

I don't know - Sunak has scrapped proposals that clearly did exist as per my earlier links. He described them as proposals in his speech.

Honestly, why do you bother when you and we know perfectly well that there are SO many clips of Sunak sitting next to Johnson and cheering him on as he blatantly lies?

My personal opinion is that Keir Starmer has told more 'lies' during the last three years than Boris Johnson - I expect that many people on the left of the Labour Party would agree with me.

As has to be pointed out far too often on here, you can have your own opinion, you can't have your own facts.

If you are right and the Prime Minister has scrapped a whole series of key policies, should he be calling a General Election and standing on a new manifesto with his new policies in?
Wouldn't that be what someone with integrity would do?

Talking of the elderly and manifesto pledges, what happened to this one?

I might be wrong but I thought it was the case that people didn't have to sell their home during their lifetime.

Here is a fact that is indisuputable.

The Prime Minister on the radio earlier this week was unable to say who had proposed the meat tax or the car sharing rules that the Prime Minister announced that he was scrapping.

Could you perhaps provide a list of Starmer's lies @Clavinova ?

You are mistaken. There are exceptions, notably where a partner is still living in the home, but in the majority of cases the home has to be sold unless fees can be paid from other resources.

Notonthestairs · 01/10/2023 20:54

Macron was hosting 'our' King. You may choose to criticise that.

Sunak was the first PM in a decade to skip the UN meeting.

Well, it appears to be a fact that people on the left of the Labour Party think Keir Starmer is a liar:

Indeed one could argue Starmer is less trustworthy than a prime minister whose calling card is caddish misbehaviour.

I am not a royalist but I must be getting soft in my middle age because I don't mind Charles. So yeah I'll claim him.
Suspect he'd vote green.

pointythings · 01/10/2023 21:01

The words 'What people think' and 'fact' have nothing to do with each other.

And if your source of truth and wisdom is Owen Jones, you've really lost your way.

Notonthestairs · 01/10/2023 21:02

Owen Jones as a source. Brilliant!

There’s a huge issue with a property tax. It forces people to sell.

And? We’re always hearing that pensioners live in mansions and should downsize - two birds, one stone. The perfect tax.

IClaudine · 01/10/2023 21:05

I am on the left of the Labour Party and I think Owen Jones is an odious, band-wagon jumping twerp who patronises working class people. He is more concerned with his media and social media profiles than actual politics.

He’s blocked me on Twitter/X. I see it as a huge compliment.
