It's not half as salacious, possibly a bit dry and dull to most people.

But it's fucking constitutional dynamite

I don't think it's this but I wondered the same from the moment they announced the programme

Hollyhead · 19/09/2023 07:00

It’s not that well planned, but someone is taking the opportunity to release that story that’s for sure. Every thing about BJ was constitutional cyanamide though, and Joe average doesn’t seem to give a shit about undermining the constitution.

GrowUpWoman · 19/09/2023 07:01

I said this to DH yesterday, I agree.

I know Channel 4 is involved with the RB story too but whenever there’s a big Sunday Times/Sun scoop I wonder what we’re being distracted from.

The Huw Edwards thing all came out the same time as Boris’ WhatsApp messages and refusing to hand over his phone.

AvengedQuince · 19/09/2023 07:02

I think it was released to distract from something.

Yep.

We're being played. Again.

There needs to be some kind of recompense for the way they acted.

It’s more that the government use the opportunity to ‘take out the trash’ to quote the west wing. Papers / websites only have a certain amount of stories they will run - if half of those are taken up with RB, then less time will be taken up by the governments crap.

so its not that the RB story was released to cover this up, rather the other way around.

Yeah sure. Two separate media organisations did 4 years of investigation to bury the fact that Boris Johnson is a cunt.

I genuinely don't understand how people who think the world works this way cope with life.

'The shop's out of milk again. Oh no, the Illuminati must be restricting supply to distract us from the alien landings'

LlynTegid · 19/09/2023 07:13

I don't think it is one bit. Boris Johnson's treasonous activity whilst Prime Minister has been known about ever since the Supreme Court judgment.

Where Boris Johnson and Russell Brand seem to have one thing in common is their view that women are only there for one thing.

Out of morbid curiosity: who is 'they'?

Zonder · 19/09/2023 07:14

I don't think so. If there hadn't been a big documentary on him last night I would have agreed.

You're so naive. Of course the world works this way.

Wherly · 19/09/2023 07:15

Who is the "they" that exert all this power over Channel 4 and The Times but none over the BBC?

Agreed.

We all know stories are buried and the government loves a disaster to cover up bad news. But this level of paranoid delusion isn;t healthy.

RB AND BJ can both be arseholes at the same time.

Lol.

Why not just stop the BBC running the story if "they" have this power over the media?

Do you honestly think people would give a fuck about this if it weren't for Russell Brand.

What were they trying to avoid happening by forcing The Times and Channel 4 to release the documentary/article at that time?

Do "they" have a spreadsheet of all the salacious media stories they can run for distraction and pick one when something is going to break?

Good lord.

Defiantjazz · 19/09/2023 07:19

Doesn’t seem that mind blowing to me but maybe I’m just cynical.

Yep, it's 'naive' to want evidence for unlikely claims.

If only I had the critical thinking skills of those who believe every conspiracy theory told them by internet randoms.

noblegiraffe · 19/09/2023 07:22

You think the BBC are trying to bury a documentary that they made and broadcast? Or that Channel 4 are trying to bury the BBC documentary with their own documentary?

Who is burying what by making documentaries and broadcasting them?

FloorWipes · 19/09/2023 07:23

I LOVE a good conspiracy theory, but no I really don’t think so.

There is no need to “cover up” this Boris Johnson constitution story as not many people would care anyway.

Well quite!

Elvis1956 · 19/09/2023 07:25

I love the way that RB is being taken down because he is speaking truth to power and undermining MSM. No he's been revealed as a predator. End off.
People have also mentioned that he's preaching to the alt right... really he's a lefty who has been challenged to put up his own money to fund things he has bleated on about and scuttled away from that.

donquixotedelamancha · 19/09/2023 07:26

The real question is: what did Russell Brand do to piss off the lizard people?

JanglyBeads · 19/09/2023 07:26

But the TIMING of the RB story could have been manipulated couldn't it?

The Palace being asked to intervene against the sitting Prime Minister is a Big Story and very important. Especially if BJ's considering having another stab at that job in the future.

Inkpotlover · 19/09/2023 07:26

You think the ST and Dispatches spent four years tracking down rape and sexual abuse victims, gathering medical records, having it fine tooth combed by lawyers and backed up by affidavits just to cover up some hearsay about Boris sodding Johnson and the Queen? 🙄

Wherly · 19/09/2023 07:26

I'd love to know the practicalities of this kind of thing.

Do the journalists have to keep some sort of central authority informed of what they are working on?

Do they have to finish it then put it on file waiting for the call?

Are they recompensed for the above?
