It's not half as salacious, possibly a bit dry and dull to most people.

But it's fucking constitutional dynamite

‘Booty call’ ffs that’s not what happened

women don’t shout rape because they have regrets - that’s an odious statement

I think having to punch someone in the stomach to stop them forcing you to have oral sex is pretty indicative of not consenting

MechaBuilder · 21/09/2023 12:11

Ah yes, classic 16 year old behaviour, getting driven out of school for a booty call with a man in his 30s…and then being pissed off when he shoves his penis in her mouth and spits on her too, bloody typical kids eh @Happierlife7?

So depressing that you think women are accusing Brand of rape for nefarious reasons. It’s utterly disgusting actually.

Scruffington · 21/09/2023 12:11

so many rape minimisers on MN these days.

like rats scuttling about.

I was at school when Twiggy found fame at the age of 16. We were quite used to seeing Justin de MadeUpName turn up to collect her in his flashy car. It worked out well for her.

The 16 year old girl, the child, he sent a taxi for her to take her out of school. He shoved his penis down her throat. He spat in her mouth. She had to punch him in the stomach to get him off. Another woman told him no and he had sex with her anyway, including not wearing a condom. Not wearing a condom when asked to, called stealthing, is illegal.

You can have a man’s penis millimetres from your vagina, ready to go and if you say no, it’s a no. If he continues, that’s rape.

Your views are absolutely abhorrent. They’re views from our past. There is no such thing as ‘they were in a relationship so it’s fine. Do you think husbands can’t rape wives?

Seriously, you’re supporting rapists. You need to do some real reading to get a grip on these thoughts.

It doesn’t matter!!!! It doesn’t matter if she consented to sex 1000 times, what matters is the one time she says no and he did it anyway - that’s rape!!! It doesn’t matter if they were already having sex, if he wanted to do something such as put his penis in her mouth and she said no, that’s fucking rape.

It doesn’t matter if a woman has hooked up with a million men, or is going around in just a thing or has had sex with the same men 100 times, if she says no and he doesn’t respect that then it’s RAPE.

This is not my opinion, this is fact. It is the law. Your views are Victorian.

So you seem to be saying rape can't happen if the two people are in a relationship or have had sex with each other before? Just clarifying.

CaveMum · 21/09/2023 18:09

I’d highly recommend Happierlife reads up on the “cup or tea/consent” analogy. It might help to explain things in simple terms…

A Cup of Tea and Consent

This video used by the Thames Valley Police breaks down the concept of consent and applies it to real world situations. It's pithy. It's funny. It leaves no ...

Fucking hell these people vote and sit on juries.

Cornettoninja · 21/09/2023 19:04

@Happierlife7 thank you for your description of consensual sex within a consensual relationship.

Thats not what we’re talking about here though, because these women have clearly described when they withdrew their consent.

IClaudine · 21/09/2023 19:08

She wasn’t driven out of school, she was in the bath waiting for him to come home

Did you actually watch the documentary? You need to rewatch and listen carefully. She wasn't happily luxuriating in a warm bubble bath waiting to come home. And how do you think she got from school to his house? Teleportation?

Jesus wept. I don't think it needs to be pointed out that just because this was your experience, it doesn't make it relevant to this situation.

I feel like you need to brush up on consent and what it actually means. Hint: being in a sexual relationship with someone does not mean they are entitled to have sex with you, whether you want it or not. Because that's rape, and illegal, and your misogyny is showing.

IClaudine · 21/09/2023 19:15

DuncinToffee wow. He's incriminated himself nicely there. I await the minimiser's excuses.

That clip is horrific. He's laughing about just having committed a sex offence at work.

And the comments leading up to it... how attractive women are stupid, calling them names and him not respecting them, how he likes to drag women into bathrooms....wow.

And it was prerecorded, not live. So cleared by the BBC as suitable content.

The whole show is online here and so much of it is vile, saying his cleaner's house is too nice for a "poor" person, beastiality etc (I couldn't stomach listening to it all) https://archive.org/details/RussellBrandRadio2008/112+Russell+Brand+-+21+June+2008.mp3

Comedian Trevor Lock was arrested and charged with drugging and raping a woman in Brand's flat in Edinburgh in 2006. Both comedians were questioned by police and the charges were later dropped. I wonder if Lock and Matt Morgan have anything to say about any of this (or perhaps in the near future they might). https://www.chortle.co.uk/news/2006/09/09/4437/lock-arrested-for-rape

No means no whether its a stranger in an alley or a person in a relationship.
Having to punch someone to get them of you doesn't seem consensual to me
