It's not half as salacious, possibly a bit dry and dull to most people.

But it's fucking constitutional dynamite

Ha! I forgot his YT stuff isn’t anymore Grin

Maybe I’ll check it out while it’s free from corporate evilness.

Eh? I haven't made any 'claims', Russell Brand did! He can provide all the evidence you want. I'm frankly baffled as to why you would want someone on the internet to detail all the people he's held to account in his podcast when you can just watch the podcast? That makes zero sense.

Russell Brand didn't amass 6.5 million YT followers from 'word of mouth'. No. Each one of those people watched his content and decided they wanted to follow him, including many people who admitted to hating him before, but liked how he was one of very few voices challenging the preferred narrative.

So, go on, have a look. You might actually learn something.

I have absolutely no interest in getting my information from some complete twat on YouTube who manipulates facts for his own gain.

Conspiracy theorists feed off fear and uncertainty, of course he can amass 6.5 million followers by talking shit! 🤣🤣🤣 It’s what a certain demographic want to hear! How do you think the tories keep getting elected? They’re good at manipulation, just like brand.

My God, you’re gullible.

duc748 · 19/09/2023 17:30

It's surely fair to say that there are plenty of 'alternative' voices out there that 'challenge the preferred narrative', beyond what BBC/CNN/The Guardian say.. Including many feminist voices, for example, obviously. But fans of people like Brand seem to like to believe that they've cottoned on to the One Great Truth.

RedToothBrush · 19/09/2023 17:35

Jumpingthruhoops · 19/09/2023 16:32

Well, that's because the answer is to 'do your own research'. No 'ha, ha' about it. 🙄

Not really sure why you're on here trying to ridicule others when you can't even do the basics.

As I've already said, the best thing to do to inform yourself on the establishment RB is talking about is to watch the videos on his YouTube channel. It's all there.

'clCant do the basics'

From someone who says 'it must be true because it was in the Lancet'

Ok dok.

I once played a game on Facebook. In order to win the game, some people created hundreds of fake accounts.

Not only that but we know that Russian troll farms would deliberately create fake accounts and try and enhance profiles by befriending random people.

We know that Russian Troll farms like to retweet utter crap in order to amplify it.

Wagner's Prigozhin admitted to both the existence of Wagner owned Russian troll farms before his death. He admitted they were used to destabilise politics in the West.

No doubt someone will be along to tell me this is all conspiracy and Prigozhin never existed whilst simultaneously being murdered by the CIA.

So I have to be honest that I take 6.5 million followers with a pinch of salt. I have no doubt he has a hell of a lot. But I am not convinced that everyone is real either.

Cornettoninja · 19/09/2023 17:42

You’re right, it’s because he already had a long established career and was already well known.

Each one of those people watched his content and decided they wanted to follow him, including many people who admitted to hating him before

hang on, are we now just taking people at their word? I thought that was a noob move. Surely some have proved they used to hate him? Maybe with a photo of them flipping him the bird holding a newspaper with the date clearly visible?

But not a murdoch newspaper. Or a left wing one. Or an evil capitalist one either…. Gosh, maybe just a copy of the beano for an approximate date.

Cornettoninja · 19/09/2023 17:45

@RedToothBrush you can just buy the subscribers, you don’t even need a Russian troll farm. So it’s still ethical.

whatwasthatgrandma · 19/09/2023 17:46

He amassed an army of brain dead YT zombies on purpose because he knew this was going to come out and he needed them ready to get all over SM to shriek about how he's being brought down for sticking it to the man.

You can see them on this thread. Clever really. (the strategy, not the zombies, obvs)

And my friends joke that I am mad for having a real life zombie apocalypse plan.

TooBigForMyBoots · 19/09/2023 18:04

I think YABU @madamreign. The past 13 years have been such a shitshow that we can expect revelations on a weekly basis regarding Tory incompetence and corruption.

As soon as the legal teams passed this, it went to broadcast. If the journos had waited until a quiet week for Tory scandals, we would be discussing it in 2035.

@Jumpingthruhoops, I admire your desire to see past the provided narrative. I can heartily recommend Private Eye. It's a lot more accurate and less biased than celebrity You Tubers.

Relatively optimistic I'd say. I knew about the constitutional crisis, can't remember how, think it was something Cummings dropped but to be honest I don't think I paid much attention, it was boris, it was shit, how much more do we need.

Cornettoninja · 19/09/2023 19:02

In all honesty BJ is steadily becoming the story this government do actually use to bury other bad news.

Inspectors identified breeches of the ECHR including ‘mistreatment under article 3 of the European convention on human rights, which says no one shall be subjected to torture or inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment’ at government immigration centres so solved that by getting rid of the inspectors - hey, remember that Boris? Schools identified as death traps in completely avoidable circumstances whilst the ed minister throws a hissy fit because she’s not appreciated in her own time - you know, Boris Johnson. What a bastard he was eh? Grrrr.

Josell12345 · 19/09/2023 19:09

Dont think this was the reason but its certainly a distraction and a case of being over the target.

DizzyDaisy321 · 19/09/2023 19:53

Nothing would surprise me.

AJ65 · 19/09/2023 21:33

I'd say more cockup than conspiracy. As it were.

Russel Brand was actually on Fox News (Murdoch’s flagship outlet) earlier this year, being fawned over by Tucker Carlson.

Back then, he was claiming it was the ‘liberal elite’ and particularly The Guardian that were trying to bring him down.

Crapsummer2023 · 19/09/2023 23:27

MechaBuilder · 19/09/2023 11:55

No. I think they finally had enough evidence to go public without being sued. No one gives a toss about Russell Brand. He isn’t some amazing underground guru revealing big secrets.

Who do you mean exactly by the establishment? Can you give me some names and job titles?

I love when they blame ‘the establishment’. One of RBs partners was Jemima Khan, with a billionaire father and Lord for a bother. That sounds pretty establishment to me.

duc748 · 20/09/2023 00:49

I only hope MN's common-sense view on RB prevails. We'll see.

DameWhiskers · 20/09/2023 04:59

The Russell Brand 'revelations' aren't in the least surprising. If 'they' wanted to bury something, surely they'd choose someone less vile for an exposé?

DameWhiskers · 20/09/2023 05:07

Josell12345 · 19/09/2023 19:09

"Over the target" is such an over-used term of RW Twitter hangers-on. You really believe RB is 'over the target'? What target? And why take him out and not other odious YouTube/Twitter grifters? Are they not over the same target as they discuss the same things?
