Also food/drink you used to hate..
Im a previous complete caffeine head, now I can't even stand the smell of coffee.
Used to think beetroot was vile stuff, can't believe it's one of my favourite foods now.

Low FODMAP eating taught me that I can't now stomach even the slightest bits of onion, garlic and apple. Weird.

BogRollBOGOF · 28/08/2023 21:56

Butterscotch Angel Delight. Ruined by artificial sweetners, and doesn't thicken up nicely with oat milk (I litterally can't stomach cows milk)

blueshoes · 28/08/2023 21:58

Pork scratchings. I can still stomach it but my teeth are cracking to bits so I have to lay off 😭

IseeNarcPeople · 28/08/2023 21:59

@AutumnCrow
I've been on an AIP diet for a few years now, it's weird how your body picks all these things that it decides you should no longer have.

Stilton and patè. I don't know how I ever enjoyed them.

AceofPentacles · 28/08/2023 22:04

Cheese , ice cream, custard 😭
Shepherd's pie, fish & chips, salmon, most fried stuff
There's a whole big list since peri menopause began unfortunately

TheAloe · 28/08/2023 22:05

Spaghetti hoops
crab sticks
baked beans

🤢

AutumnCrow · 28/08/2023 22:08

I can't eat bread.

In fact I can't even eat gluten-free bread because it things like pea protein and apple extract in.

Life is ... different!

vodkaredbullgirl · 28/08/2023 22:08

Pot noodles
apples
oranges
prefer soft fruits

CurlyTandtheTangles · 28/08/2023 22:09

Nuts. I bloat and do yucky poos after.
And I don't learn... ate peanuts 2 days ago and urgh..

OnTheRunWithMannyMontana · 28/08/2023 22:09

Tomatoes 😞 they give me the most horrendous heartburn.

Murphs1 · 28/08/2023 22:10

I’m falling out of love with wine of late, now that is a first!!

Ilovegoldies · 28/08/2023 22:12

Coffee. Years of painful stomach cramps and it turns out I really can't stomach coffee. I only found out by chance that it could trigger stomach pain.

BlackberryCrumbs · 28/08/2023 22:12

Raw mushrooms.

Dh randomly said to me a few days ago (when chopping mushrooms) 'remember when you used to eat them raw and I'd need to slap your hand away?'.

I'd totally forgotten but he brought it back to me...years ago I used to make a beeline for them raw, I ate half a tub once and dh was pissed off I'd ruined his recipe 😂

Now, the thought of a raw mushroom turns my stomach. I don't know when that change happened though!

Coffee ☹️ I usually drink decaff now, but just today was given a real coffee by mistake. Christ, it made me feel so ill! Jittery, nauseous, panicky, and like I couldn't take a proper deep breath. I've still got horrible acid reflux 3 hours later. Might have to switch to tea to avoid that happening again.

I also struggle with dairy or gluten. Or even just too much food in general. Like a pp, I suspect perimenopause is the culprit.

I hated my mums lumpy porridge. I remember large chewy lumps with cold milk between. No idea what she did to it. It was about 20 years before I made some for myself and discovered I like it.

TooOldForThisNonsense · 28/08/2023 22:17

Alcohol
fizzy drinks

blueskiesandsun · 28/08/2023 22:18

Spirits
Cheese
Wine
Coffee

Used to enjoy all of the above! Not any more.

IseeNarcPeople · 28/08/2023 22:19

@DarkPsy
Perimenopause definitely brings all the food intolerances to the yard.
Alot of it is thyroid (mostly undiagnosed) issues and gut problems.
My body completely crashed during perimenopause.

Coffee since covid. Fucker.

Eyesopenwideawake · 28/08/2023 22:22

Pints. Used to be able to sink several (!) over an evening. Now a mini beer or 1/2 cider and I'm bloated. Gutted.

ShowOfHands · 28/08/2023 22:23

I used to love occasional fish and chips but for a while now, they've caused horrendous indigestion. And I don't/can't burp so just have to wait for it to pass. I rarely eat greasy food but it's started to really disagree with me. No other foods cause it.

Sgtmajormummy · 28/08/2023 22:28

All those double chocolate, caramel sauce, almond chip ice creams on a stick.
I used to think they were a real treat but now there’s too much choice and I don’t fancy any of them.
I had to look really hard for a Solero the other day.

2chocolateoranges · 28/08/2023 22:30

Frazzle crisps and anything with garlic in it. Both give me heartburn.
