Also food/drink you used to hate..
Im a previous complete caffeine head, now I can't even stand the smell of coffee.
Used to think beetroot was vile stuff, can't believe it's one of my favourite foods now.

Used to love a cream cake…. Not any more, makes me feel really nauseous…
Also loved Prosecco, cocktails and champagne, particularly the really decent stuff🍾 Sadly, the menopause put paid to these treats… I get raging acid reflux that brings tears to my eyes 😩
Ive noticed that more and more food is becom8ng a problem, the latest two being tomatoes and dark chocolate…. I am broken!

BarelyLiterate · 28/08/2023 22:30

Instant coffee. I used to buy the stuff & quite like it, but after I bought a cafetière & started drinking the real thing, there was no going back. Now, I can’t drink instant at all.
‘Whippy’ type ice cream, from a machine. Again, once you get a taste for the real stuff, made from actual cream & vanilla and not pumped full of air, there is no going back.
Milkshakes & chocolate milk : Far too sweet & sickly for me now.

HeadacheEarthquake · 28/08/2023 22:31

Chocolate 😪

ghostyslovesheets · 28/08/2023 22:32

White wine - seems to give me cystitis these days (not fizzy wine) - shame as I like it

Bluevelvetsofa · 28/08/2023 22:33

Alcohol and bread. Gluten free bread is just cardboard.

Siouxandthebadcheese · 28/08/2023 22:34

Tofu and chickpeas after gastroenteritis last year

SalviaDivinorum · 28/08/2023 22:39

Chocolate

Although I suspect that it down to cost cutting and cheap ingredients rather than any change in me!

PrincessHoneysuckle · 28/08/2023 22:45

Very spicy food.Used to love it but now I'm weak as piss with it all of a sudden.

Darkmodal · 28/08/2023 22:46

Sushi.

Tailfeather · 28/08/2023 22:46

Has anyone tried the sausages in Heinz Baked Beans as an adult?! REVOLTING! What are they made of? They were my favourite as a kid!

PoshPineapple · 28/08/2023 22:50

Spaghetti hoops
crab sticks
baked beans

🤢

Hello. My human posted in AIBU earlier because I got myself stuck in a neighbour's house after breaking into their bendy cat flap.

She posted crab sticks through a gap in a window for me to eat. Crab sticks. After all these years, she doesn't know I bloody hate crab sticks. I understand your pain.

Love,

The Cat

Pot noodles- used to love them, really don't like the thought of it now.
Pizza- ditto to above and gives me a stomach ache.
Takeaways in general- often disappointing and expensive.

Ilovegoldies · 28/08/2023 22:12

Coffee. Years of painful stomach cramps and it turns out I really can't stomach coffee. I only found out by chance that it could trigger stomach pain.

@Ilovegoldies i had this followed by diarrhoea when I drank coffee but it was fine once I switched to decaffeinated coffee.

Marsyas · 28/08/2023 22:54

Oysters. Loved them and used to be able to eat them fine. Unfortunately the last three times I ate them I’ve thrown up, so I’m avoiding them now, and also rather unsurprisingly don’t really fancy them any more, the very thought makes me feel queasy.

FromEden · 28/08/2023 22:55

Living abroad for 10 years and would love to eat junk food when I visited home , especially chipper, (Irish) Chinese food like curry chips, pot noodles, crisps and various other foods that aren't readily available in the US. Was recently home for the first time in 5 years and I've gone off most of it. Except chips from the chipper, they are still amazing. Probably for the best tbh.

justasking111 · 28/08/2023 22:59

Coffee, prosecco.
Bread, fatty foods.
Onions, garlic, tomatoes, seafood., Chilli, spicy dishes.
Had duck breast tonight, now swigging Maalox, second time in a row with duck.

Bloody menopause

Babyenroute · 28/08/2023 23:06

Fish and chips. Used to love it but got food poisoning around a year ago and can now barely stand anything battered!

LittleMy77 · 28/08/2023 23:09

I put most of mine down to
peri; I have an unlimited supply of rennies on me at all times these days

Apples (it’s the skin) ditto peppers, asparagus ties my stomach in knots and broccoli can be hit and miss, fresh oj

smell of yogurt makes me want to heave, avocados make me feel weird with their texture, can’t drink wine after covid as it tastes weird and beer has an odd texture once it hits roof of my mouth (also post covid) baileys and spirits give me acid indigestion

sadly for my waistline, UPF and chocolate are still widely tolerated

I shouldn’t drink coffee but itll have to be prized out of my cold dead hands before i give it up

Beaverbridge · 28/08/2023 23:12

Alcohol. Ice cream. Meat, esp the smell of it cooking.

Sunshinesally78 · 28/08/2023 23:12

I could have wrote this post myself OP! I loved coffee, bought an expensive Sage machine and all the gadgets to go with it a couple of years ago. I can't stand it now iv suddenly decided I like tea (previously couldn't stand the stuff). I'm sure it's due to having covid last summer, I can't thing why the sudden change

threecupsofteaminimum · 28/08/2023 23:15

This FODMAP thing is interestingly

Discwriter · 28/08/2023 23:17

Dutch stroopwafels. Was once delayed on schipol and ate about 5 whilst waiting at the gate, and pretty sure I was hyperglyceamic by the time I got home - shivers, hallucinations etc. Not their fault though. Also cannot even sip rehidrat, tastes like salty dust to me.

Notmytotoro · 28/08/2023 23:19

Caviar, can't afford it anymore but i now find it disgusting...

Crikeyalmighty · 28/08/2023 23:19

I became gluten intolerant straight after having covid - it was bizarre- I was eating a croissant in Berlin and got a weird prickling feeling on my top lip for a few minutes followed by a horrible headache, initially thought it was a stroke but then realised I was fine but as soon as I eat anything with gluten I get back of the head headaches and neck pain and a weird kind of nerve pain in my right leg. Absolutely nuts!

GrumpyOldCrone · 28/08/2023 23:20

Nothing in particular, just food in general. I don’t really enjoy it any more. I eat because I get hungry but it’s all a bit meh. I lost most of my sense of smell when I had covid a few months ago and everything seems very bland now.
