Been watching the series on Netflix and really like her, she seems smart and strong and puts up with a lot. The only thing I don’t understand is allowing the kids to go to Tyson’s fights, he even says he doesn’t want them there.
Has anyone else seen the series?
it’s made me really intrigued about the traveller lifestyle and how things must be for females

@CornishBarbie

I feel for any child who sees Tyson Fury as a role model.

And interesting how you keep going on about the alleged racists on this thread while defending to the hilt Tyson Fury, who is himself racist.

Sorry and judt to add, he absolutely is a role model for traveller men suffering with mental health. He is the closest example they have to someone expanding into the mainstream and I pray to God he never stops just because of the evil shown by people on this thread.

This thread has prompted me to read up more on the traveling community and the rate of suicide amongst them is way higher than the national average and it’s something we almost never hear about.

Grumpusaurus · 27/08/2023 16:28

Awful woman! The kind of dumb broad I loathe!

Yes because I genuinely believe People posting on here should know better than to be so ignorant. I'm not defending Tysons views or what he's said, I'm saying I think he's a good role model for male traveller mh due to his openness but it seems there's a lot of hateful people here. It also seems that a lot are too narrow minded to accept some positives about someone and there's a real culture nowadays, sort of parallel to the obsession with cancelling people where to be liked or even listened to you must be the 'perfect' human. Unfortunately other people in the public eye with media coaching, a good publicist and a better upbringing in general don't relate to traveller men in the way Tyson does. I believe there's a platform for him where a lot of good can come.from it. You have to be really dense to think the issues with some of the things he's said overshadow that. I've reported my responses to be removed, I find this thread quite upsetting in the way people find racism about just about any other race upsetting.

VioletVeeVee · 27/08/2023 17:52

Really thought she was pretty awesome until I read the comment she made about her dog, although that isn’t really a surprise, sadly.

Boomboom22 · 27/08/2023 17:56

How can it be called racism when he has said and done all of the things he is accused of? He's not being judged without knowing gin, he is the one saying these evil things, allowing his daughter to be pulled out of school, being violent and a bad father on TV. And bring a terrible role model for people with mh issues as he uses it as an excuse for bad behaviour.

Boomboom22 · 27/08/2023 17:57

Exactly what good can come of showing other travellers it's OK to treat your wife and kids like shit because of your mood swings? Wtf?

I'm dense because I think an anti-semite is not a good role model? Because I think saying that wanting to hang your sister for being promiscuous or comparing homosexuality to paedophilia ca overshadow someone being a good boxer? And I seriously doubt Tyson Fury doesn't have a publicist.

And you fuck sound like you're defending his views. Complaining about racism while defending a racist.

Chickitychick · 27/08/2023 18:39

Thought Tyson was vile to Paris. I’ve actually read her book and she doesn’t once mention all the times Tyson has had affairs and has cheated. It’s all very conveniently missing from the narrative. Why do women who have cheating husbands lie to protect them and even worse forgive them.

Milkandhoneybees · 27/08/2023 18:59

There are girls in Pakistan and Afghanistan who risk torture and public execution in order to get an education.

Meanwhile in England, you get people like Paris Fury who intentionally pull their daughters out of education, because “tradition.”

Sorry, and you’re praising this woman?

I really do despair.

This is not a person to be praised or looked up to. Taking education from a girl and damning her to a life with very few options, meaning she has to depend on someone financially even if they’re horrifically abusive is nothing short of cruel.

Proudgypsy · 26/08/2023 06:39

As you can see by this thread, a large portion of society hate gypsies and travellers purely because of their ethnicity. So the responses don't surprise me one bit.

It's got nothing to do with racism and everything to do with not being a good person.

Did you defend Jade Goody this much considering she's also an ethnic minority who was racist? Not even mentioning Tyson's mysoginy, infidelity etc.

This is the first I've heard of Tyson having affairs .

teatimenow · 27/08/2023 20:05

They’re both awful for many reasons but people put it all down to their culture so it’s accepted and goes unchallenged.

NannaKaren · 27/08/2023 20:46

I would not have watched (known about ) this type of series but we were visiting my 29 year old Dd and she put it on!
I loved Paris and Furys’ relationship.
Very interesting to watch someone else’s lifestyle when so different from our own…
Maybe Paris is trying to put off the children from becoming Fighters and seeing their Father being hurt might deter them following in his footsteps. Regarding the girls, and females in general - Paris
seems to be all for women becoming strong and independent.
Lovely family all round.

Seashellies · 27/08/2023 20:57

I think she came across well in it, I don't really have a view on her as a person though as I have only ever watched this and have no idea about anything else the family have or haven't done (knew he was a boxer though and related to Tommy Fury)- also aware its a reality show. I have my own views on aspects of traveller culture but I do think those who have grown up submerged in it have different views to myself. It's interesting that he was keen for the children to carry on at school and break tradition but she wasn't keen.

Lolly474747 · 27/08/2023 21:01

Jesus some of these responses...

I loved the show. She comes across as an incredible woman, who is accepting and compassionate about her husband mental health challenges, this is called love people unconditional love, not idiocy. Would you still say the same if he was physically disabled or got cancer I think not! There is no difference.
I would hate to think my husband would divorce me, for a mental health issue.
As for Tyson behaviour he literally cannot control mood swings, and possibly at times outlook and perspectives. When it's brain chemicals and it can cause you to have skewed thoughts and perceptions without the awareness.
I think he is very humble, and doing incredibly great for what he faces day in day out you have to consider he is possibly not medicated. Due to impact of the drugs on his career, especially adhd stimulants.
I think they have done wonderful for stigma, both for the traveller community and men's mental health.

jo19 · 27/08/2023 21:11

I loved it and the way she is so understanding of her husbands ADHD & mental health is amazing.

He's clearly said that regardless of if they are interested that his boys will box to teach them "respect".

You do also have to consider safeguarding children if a parent has severe mental health issues.

We have no idea how much this impacts their kids because we saw tiny snippets of him struggling with not boxing.

MumApril1990 · 27/08/2023 23:08

She looks much older than 33

talkitup · 27/08/2023 23:13

I think Paris is a well balanced, strong woman who is holding a lot together to keep her family happy & together. I couldn't live with Tyson but recognise his BPD is a struggle for all of them.

voltacup · 27/08/2023 23:22

It would not surprise me one iota if he has had affairs. He showed zero respect for her in that show. Apparently you can act like an abusive dick and just say "oh sorry it's my mental health", would love to see a woman get away with that shit.

Lolaandbehold · 28/08/2023 00:05

When I read the title of this thread, I thought it was going to be a furious rant about a recent trip to Paris and how rude the people were/dog shit everywhere or some such. 😳
