People Using my drive

It's our village fete today, never go because we work Saturday's, I started work first left in my car, DH about 30 mins later in his, leaving one on the drive, got home first to find 3 cars on my drive, one of them I know belongs to a friend, other two do not recognise.

Rang friend to ask if she knew who the others belonged to (as a bit annoyed she had not even asked if she could use my drive for her's ) to be told yes they belong to school mum friends of hers and she knew we would be at work so did not see a problem telling them to park there.

Pointed out I only just managed to get on my own drive and DH will be home shortly and will need to park on the drive as the whole village is rammed with cars, to be told they will be gone by 6pm as just about to have food and a drink, asked for at least one to be moved to park on our own drive, to be told I am unreasonable and ruining it for them.

Very tempted to block one in and refuse to move until the morning because I am shattered, had a stupuidly busy day and just want to chill in my PJ's with food and a glass off wine

already fallen out over previous shit so did not expect this xx

Hmmm, if you’ve already fallen out over similar things, it sounds like she has form and it’s no great surprise! What happened before?

HowToSaveAWife · 19/08/2023 18:54

"hi friend, if you had not been so rude on the phone I would have explained to you that DH and I are away for a week in Puerto Rico, no phone reception unfortch. Flight is tonight, have already left. We had to leave cars on drive, apologies for blocking you in but perhaps if you had asked in the first place this could have been avoided. Will send a postcard! Mwah! X"

Cheeky twat.

Seaswimmingforthesoul · 19/08/2023 18:55

She is an absolute twat by the sounds of it. You've done absolutely the right thing by blocking them in. Well done! 💪 PLEASE give us an update 😁😁😁

They are blocked in and said friend has really pissed me off recently she asked one of my others friend to do some work for her towards her divorce which was done at mates rates (practically free which would have been over £2k) and now not proceeding and is expecting my other friend not to charge her so not actually spoke to her for at least 4 months this is the final straw

Got as far as this post and had a lightbulb moment. If one of the other cars belongs to the on again/off again divorcee, say when they come to collect their car that it'll cost them whatever the mates rates would have been for the work you did on their divorce petition.

Louise303 · 19/08/2023 19:14

Cannot believe how cheeky they are and then to not come back at 6pm sounds like they are staying out longer out of spite.

Beaverbridge · 19/08/2023 19:15

Wtf, cheeky feckers. Don't answer door to them. Fuck em. Do give an update please.

Countdown2023 · 19/08/2023 19:17

Let DH answer the door and give them a right bollocking

Chocolatesandroses · 19/08/2023 19:17

Block in op , been ages since we had a parking thread . What a cf

Lostinbrum · 19/08/2023 19:19

Wow that's so rude. When you do finally release the car tell CF 'friend' to do one and never park on your drive again

Holidayvibes · 19/08/2023 19:20

Oh I so hope you stand your ground 🤞🤩

Tiredmum2kids1dog · 19/08/2023 19:21

Block them in for being out of order!

Petaldust · 19/08/2023 19:21

Watching 🍿

I'm so invested.... genuinely have just poured myself a glass of wine in solidarity 😂

ifIwerenotanandroid · 19/08/2023 18:52

'playing Buckaroo with Bruce Grobbelaar' was the phrase used in response IIRC.😂

I learned to make Yorkshire puddings from that thread.

Every time I see that brand of car I remember him coming “to collect the Ranger” - because he couldn’t possibly just say “car” - and have a little grin to myself.

FlamingoQueen · 19/08/2023 19:23

How rude. It’s bad enough that your friend parked there, but then to invite her friends. Ultimate CF. You are right not to move your cars. If you’re working tomorrow they can collect them then.
You also need to ensure her friends know that she did not ask permission!
