People Using my drive

It's our village fete today, never go because we work Saturday's, I started work first left in my car, DH about 30 mins later in his, leaving one on the drive, got home first to find 3 cars on my drive, one of them I know belongs to a friend, other two do not recognise.

Rang friend to ask if she knew who the others belonged to (as a bit annoyed she had not even asked if she could use my drive for her's ) to be told yes they belong to school mum friends of hers and she knew we would be at work so did not see a problem telling them to park there.

Pointed out I only just managed to get on my own drive and DH will be home shortly and will need to park on the drive as the whole village is rammed with cars, to be told they will be gone by 6pm as just about to have food and a drink, asked for at least one to be moved to park on our own drive, to be told I am unreasonable and ruining it for them.

Very tempted to block one in and refuse to move until the morning because I am shattered, had a stupuidly busy day and just want to chill in my PJ's with food and a glass off wine

You might want to read the most recent updates!

ifIwerenotanandroid · 20/08/2023 18:10

OP your ex-friend made a fool of herself, by her own actions & attitude. You're well rid of her. Well done!

Iwant2stayanon · 20/08/2023 18:10

I don’t blame you or the way you have responded at all, who does that without having the manners to ask. It’s just bloody rude. I would block her number and move on, don’t have time for that.

Gilmorehill · 20/08/2023 18:18

Well done Op for sticking to your guns.

sidebirds · 20/08/2023 18:21

one of my favourite ever mumsnet threads. OP, you need to keep us updated with the village gossip and fallout 🙏

Couldyounot · 20/08/2023 18:24

Grand stuff OP. Nicely played 👏🏻

GoingInsaneAhhh · 20/08/2023 18:26

Well done op! Brilliantly done 👏

Silvers11 · 20/08/2023 18:28

Well done @quicklybeendrivenmad . I'm glad you came back and updated us. They didn't even have the decency to be back for 6pm when they said they would

I'll bet anything, that she won't do that again! Did you let the friends she was with know that you hadn't given permission?

This has been a brilliant thread too

Pipsquiggle · 20/08/2023 18:32

We'll done OP

Floralnomad · 20/08/2023 18:32

👏🏻

Scottishskifun · 20/08/2023 18:33

👏 Well played OP! Only person who made a Biscuit was your CF friend who didn't apologise when you called and moved their cars! Your well rid!

diddl · 20/08/2023 18:33

I feel a bit for her friends-but can't believe that not one of them thought that 3 cars on someone else's drive was a piss take!

Presumably all three cars weren't full & they could have met elsewhere & driven in less cars?

Hope you told her that she made herself look a fool not you.

K83atie83 · 20/08/2023 18:35

Best thread ever. Well done OP!

WaltzingWaters · 20/08/2023 18:36

Well done OP! And thank you for the update! You did the right thing. The parking there initially was rude without asking. But the response when you asked her to move was just ridiculous CF territory! I’m so glad you stuck to your guns and taught her a lesson. Think you definitely deserve more wine tonight!

Floppyelf · 20/08/2023 18:38

Love the update! You did not dissappoint!

ChocolateCinderToffee · 20/08/2023 18:38

Delicious!

ihadamarveloustime · 20/08/2023 18:47

Can't believe the gall of the 'friend', her 'friends' and the husband of one of the 'friends'. They were cheekily parked on someone's driveway without permission, refused to move it when OP contacted them and told them they shouldn't be there and were inconveniencing her and her own husband, then had the audacity to complain when OP and her husband blocked them in on their own drive!

The 'friend' should be embarrassed... at her own cheeky behaviour!

Justonemoreepisode · 20/08/2023 18:51

Great update OP - good for you.
Love a parking thread but no matter how many we have I’m still always gobsmacked by the sheer self entitlement of some people. The CF ex-friend and her friends is one thing but there always seems to be a husband coming and shouting the odds. You’d think someone in the group would just hold their hands up, go you know what we were CF’ers and apologise.

xyz111 · 20/08/2023 18:52

Hopefully that's the last you'll hear from this "friend"

Perimeni · 20/08/2023 18:54

I’d let their tyres down 🤣

Noodlehen · 20/08/2023 18:55

Brilliant OP! And disgraceful from your ex friend and her friends trying to drink drive,

Soapyspuds · 20/08/2023 18:56

No need to contact her again it will not achieve anything. If you contacts you first to apologise then you can make a decision ont he friendship otherwise leave it.

AlwaysJumping · 20/08/2023 18:59

Go you! The friends should have been mortified that they illegally parked on someone’s drive with no permission, I’m glad the ex friend feels she lost face.

Loggedinunix · 20/08/2023 18:59

Simple answer block them in have your wine answer door with glass in hand.

Slur your voice sorry I have been drinking my golden rule is I don’t touch car after drinking I go to work tomorrow at 7am. If they offer to move car nope that would be illegal as your not on insurance.

Dwrcegin · 20/08/2023 19:01

OP that update is amazing. Well done you!
