My son just called me mummy

He’s 5. He’s non verbal with Autism and has not shown any real inclination to talk.

This last 2/3 weeks he’s started ‘demanding’ food which is brilliant, but tiday he saw me and shouted ‘mummy!’.

I can’t believe it. I could cry ❤️

Sorry for keeping on but he’s blowing me away!

He said ‘there is rain!’ When it started raining
Dropped at PIL and he shouted ‘GRANNY’
As I left he shouted ‘bye bye!’
When I collected him he said ‘it’s mummy’
He said ‘bye sweetheart’ to granny
He said ‘it’s a river!’ when I drove by the river on the way home

He also treated PIL to ‘Five moldy wings’ 🤣

This is utterly bonkers!

Mini update - we’re still getting more.

Lots more nouns - mostly animals but he has also started using ‘I want’ more

‘I want FISH’ (for his fish light tube)
’I want BOUNCE’ (to go on the trampoline)

I hope that his SALT and OT see the difference when he gets back to school and we can build on more ❤️
